I am so happy I found the academy page. I am just starting out with leatherworking and already have a desire to combine my passion for 3d printing into this as well. This is perfect.
I have seen videos of making custom mannequins for armor customers. The buyer wears a tightly-fitting long-sleeve shirt & pants (tight yoga clothes or pajamas?) that are wrapped in layers of stiff plastic duct tape. The shirt and pants are cut and removed from the buyer, and then the cuts closed up with more duct tape. The openings at the sleeves, neck and ankles are also sealed with duct tape. The upper and lower halves have skeletons of wood or PVC pipes and then the halves are filled with spray insulation that greatly expands in the air.
