Don't forget that when the Doctor first met River, she recognized him, but that was the ONLY time we had seen David Tennant's Doctor see River. So, the only way for that to make sense is if she either meets another regeneration into David Tennant, OR, she meets the bi-generation David Tennant. Which means those two either will meet again off camera (which would be very sad) OR River meets the Doctor when he's with Donna and her family, OR he still sneaks off to adventures every once in a while and River meets him there.
In either/or case, I also think we're not done with seeing David play the Doctor just yet. Nor are we done seeing River Song.

It's unlikely that River meets the Doctor while he is with Donna, since she only recognizes the Doctor in the Library but not Donna (this causes Donna to ask what will happen to her)
