This a little series I have decided to make. I will compile what I believe to be the greatest quotes of animated cartoon characters proceeded by a clip show set to a song I feel embodies the Character, this time being Manchester Black. If you have any recommendation put them in the comments below. Thank You
It took me forever to realize that Manchester Black isn't wearing a shirt. He just has a Union Jack Flag tattooed on his torso.
Wait, seriously?
@@ariadnefrolich7243 I know. I always thought that was a shirt. But no.
That’s a tattoo wow I really thought a was a shirt
@@Golden-winged-peng1210 Yeah. I thought that too.
I always thought it was a shirt😮
Manchester Black is a great Superman villain. He needs to be in a live-action movie.
100% agreed
There are a lot of DC villains we need to see. Although Manchester Black is more of an anti hero.
true you know see this makes me wonder why MM doesn't use psychokinesis more he has it but writers can't decide how powerful it should be
I agree. His psychic powers are so powerful, he made Supes snap and pushed him back. That's quite an achievement, blowing a kryptonian back under a yellow star
+JazzyZenBrotha They need to do the story arc where Manchester Black supposedly murdered Lois Lane and gloated about it, because that shows one morally strong Superman like what we had in DC One Million, who stayed a good guy after Lois died for thousands of years, who doesn't need just one person for a moral crutch, but can go on in faith about the future.
He's an incredibly under used villain. If they reboot the Titans tv show, he should be one of the main villains.
Tyler Shewchuk Manchester black isn't evil. he's an anti-hero.... a damn great one too. god I wish DC would bring him back. he's my most favorite DC anti-hero!
Disobey they did
For a while too.
+Disobey Cool power, as well.
+Tyler Shewchuk He's in the New 52 Teen Titans comics. :)
He and his team are genuinly pretty darn strong, even though superman made a joke out of them when he got serious.
but even when superman was "holding back", being able to make supes bleed is always an impresive show of strength
@Mullerornis nobody said nor implied it does
Manchester Black is a lot stronger in the comics than in the movie. Especially prior to the new 52. His telepathy was stronger than Martian Manhunter's and he was even able to temporarily give Bizarro Superman sanity, as well as create illusions realistic enough to fool even Superman's enhanced senses. Although my favourite moment was him making illusions that appeared to Lex Luthor as computer files & photographs providing evidence of Superman being Clark Kent and then making Lex Luthor forget it all and see the evidence destroy itself, leaving him only with the memory that at some point he knew Superman's secret identity. That was a true magnificent bastard moment.
While I do agree his team is strong, very strong. What happens when they have to fight a mindless killing machine like Doomsday? Or fend of an invasion from a ruthless tyrant like Darkseid? It doesn't seem like the kind of problem just those four could handle.
“It's funny, isn't it? A life of truth, justice and the American, military, capitalist way. In the end, you die on the moon, wondering if your bowels will let go. And tomorrow, the world will go on like nothing happened. Dragged kicking and screaming to a better day.”
Such a badass quote
Am I the only one who sees Manchester as an anti hero, not a villain?
The Hedonist He is one.Since he took down villians down.
+The Hedonist If every cape wearing super powered guy started doing things like that, there would be not too many people left on Earth.
It's starts with one kill, then another, kill, then a few more, and then a thousand more. Eventually it all becomes another Sin City, probably worse with all the metahumans around.
Not quite.
You'd need a standard of killing, and you'd need to adhere to it. If you just don't kill anyone like Superman does, the problems will just keep coming back and murdering dudes, and one day, they might even kill you.
THEN who'd protect the people?
The Hedonist What standards? The ones that killers make up as they go?
You know the Punisher goes around literally shooting machine guns at jaywalkers and blowing up drug cartel mansions, and it changes nothing. In fact, he lost his mind trying to live up to his standard of killing.
Batman lives in the roughest city of any superhero for instance, but even he managed to do what he does without having to kill his rogue gallery left and right. As a superhero you will be judged for taking life, because it is not just something you can standardize and that's it.
But Batman never actually accomplishes anything in his endeavors. He /ALWAYS/ gives the mass murdering villains over to the police, who merely lose track of them, just so that they can run rampant again to murder many more people. In this manner, Batman indirectly kills more people than the Punisher OR Manchester Black, considering how long he's been fighting, likely combined
My opinion is that, while the Elite's methods are wrong, when it comes to uncontrollable mass murderers like Atomic Skull, Black Atom and even Joker, they really should have full control of the situation.
Favorably killing should be a last resort, even with mofos like the above listed. The Joker may be a murder, but he’s not the same level of threat as Doomsday, Brainiac, or Darkseid. It would take a hell of a lot for killing the bastard to be the only available option, where with those monsters, you kill them or the world dies a fiery death. At the same time, Joker is about as bad as a human being can get. He deserves death but leaves just enough room for a better option. If that room is no longer there, yeah, kill him, but a hero’s first instinct should never be to start executing.
Nothing wrong with having a no killing rule; but sometimes the deed just has to be done
A guy above me argued in defense of not killing joker but frankly I disagree. Joker may not be Doomsday level, but he is threat enough to terrorize entire cities and already has a mountain of a body count. The whole point of sending people to prisons and mental hospitals is to reform them; but Joker WILL NOT be reformed. He revels in his slaughters, and has no intention of changing
Killing him would indeed be the better option, whether it’s done by Batman or the Courts
Another, and imo more important issue though, is if the hero would be able to control themselves once they crossed that line. Batman would not come back, he himself says this during his fight with Jason. And Manchester Black simply does not give a shit, so he should not be allowed to let loose either. It has to be people who could keep themselves from turning into the next Joker who cross that line
@Mullerornis The entire point of Manchester is exactly this. He was written to prove why anti-heroes aren't as great as everyone was starting to think at the time. He's not an edgelord, he's a confused and vulnerable person who's lashing out at the world and, while he's wrong in doing so, he's pitiable more than he is detestable. He was written to show all the fatal flaws with his own ideology and, when he eventually realises them in the comics, he kills himself out of regret. I wouldn't critique the character for doing exactly what he was intended to do.
@Mullerornis Then yeah, totally agree. Seems kinda like missing the point.
Oh yeah what about that nicholas cruz
Superman: "You can't murder people and call yourselves heroes."
Manchester Black: "Why not? They do it in Marvel movies all the time."
Tucker Bowen that’s completely different for marvel comics
@@noahsmith4877 How?
Manchester Black is a reminder why need guys like Superman
you know i actually agree with ches when he killed atomic skull, he went to jail and broke out and did the same thing that got him in there, the point of jail is to learn that what you did was wrong and pay for it, superman wanted to put him back in jail just for him to break out again and do the same shit again and cost more lives? sorry but manchester saved more lives than superman would have by killing him. i understand that superman has a no killing rule because his powers don't put him above the law but there are times when it is necessary
I suppose the question then becomes, who decides when it's necessary?
Tyson Jones
It isnt the prettiest answer, but in the end it is decided by those that wield the power.
AdamC169
So does power make their judgement right?
"Right" is subjective. There is no universal law, and any action can only be made using the knowledge that is available at the time. Ever made a bad decision you thought was good at the time? it WAS good at the time, then more things happened, the situation was recontextualized and it becomes wrong. The saying, "what is order for the spider is chaos to the fly" also springs to mind
John Jones
which is exactly why i think manchester was right here, i get that superman doesn't like to kill, but the atomic skull had done the same thing twice, so while it's not very nice what manchester did, it wasn't exactly wrong
1:24 "You can't murder People and call yourselves Heroes!" - Best Superman Quote
"Why not? Your government does all the time." An excellent comback from Manchester Black.
This guy walks a VERY thin line between Hero and Vigilante.....
Big Leo He's automatically a vigilante because he operates outside the law: for example, Batman and Superman are both vigilantes.
A hero? Well, that's depending on your view of the character.
Big Leo I will call him an antihero.
+Sanshiro87 more antivillian
No, he walks a thin line between vigilante and villain who thinks they’re a good guy.
Uh, he's neither. He's an edgelord manchild who talks big but starts whining and begging for mercy as soon as he starts to lose.
One of my favorite anti-heroes.
my favourite is deadpool
***** Deadpool has tried being a hero at times, and while he does kill people for money, he has actually helped numerous heroes including Spiderman and Cable.
+Joshua Plyman all dead pool wants is action, money and bitches xD
Dragged Kicking and Screaming to a Better Day. Love that quote.
SM: "You can't murder people and call yourselves hero's!"
Manchester: "Why not? Your goverment does it all the time."
Oooh snap
He is a Anti-Villain, not a Anti-Hero. His goal is villainous, his motive is not.
Well said
I'd say his actions are villainous his motives are not. He wants a better world he just thinks killing is a fine way to do it.
Also he'd a parody of Jenny Sparks.
Damn.
I will say this. That guy makes a trench coat look better than a custome
Its a bit of a shame that he got lobotomized. Not only did he make this film but hes a great antihero.
In the comics Superman just gave him a small concussion with his heat vision, temporarily knocking out his powers. Later on Black worked on the Suicide Squad, then tried to mess with Superman by telepathically letting EVERY single one of his villains know he's really Clark Kent. He then makes him think he killed Lois, putting him in a psychic illusion, and fully expects Clark to kill him... He doesn't. At this point Black realizes that he's become just as bad as the villains he wanted to stop and kills himself.
TheOmnitron12345 Wow thats so dramatic.
Damn.
Tho he comes back in the Rebirth run as a villain.
Manchester black would make a great reoccurring villain on Supergirl, eventual crossing over to the other DC shows
you can see the future bro
I know right
Mind reader
superman: ''you cant murder people and call yourselves hero'sManchester black: why not?..you're government does it all the time''shots fired...*cough* americans *cough*
backlash well played mate..(sighs)....well played......(goes to the corner)
You could say America takes after its parent (Great Britain).
EmptyMan000 we are proud.
He's right, you know.
Hulkachan *Mai Lai Massacre*
Manchester Black is underrated villain. Any writer can come up with an enemy who Superman overcomes by compromising his ideals. Manchester Black is someone who is beaten by sticking to his guns.
This guy deserves way more views his videos are so apt for the characters
The Elite deserve there own ongoing series!
yes
My choice to play Manchester Black is David Tennant
you mean, Christopher Eccleston, right?
Ah, Math Smith?
Perfect choice, he'd be just... PERFECT!
MrDibara
Which one?
DeathMessenger1988 David Tennant. Sorry, I just think he'd work better for Manchester Black.
I really want Manchester Black to be a main villain in Man of Steel sequel. If there's ever another Superman movie
I loved this guy in season 4 of Supergirl. He didn't have his powers, but he was just as good of an antagonist. He was so compelling, and watching him slowly become an anti-hero was amazing to watch! He was one of my favourite TV antagonists up until his death.
They kinda already had one. It's called The Authority. The Elite were supposed to be an homage to The Authority, a team in Wildstorm Comics(DC imprint) that had the same ideas The Elite have. DC made The Elite Superman villains as more or less a statement that superheroes don't all have to be killers or make morally questionable choices. Putting them up against Superman clearly shows that.
I actually think Manchester Black and the Elites were right in killing super villains, after all, realistically, no government on earth can ever deal with super villains like the Atomic Skull, my problem starts with them starting to off governments by themselves.
I say they should only die if all other options are exhausted. If we kill everyone who steps out of line, superpowered or not, what makes us any better than them?
Honestly, there is no real right answer for this topic, this is a very grey area moral wise.
+Connor Hall (StillPhantomSlaver) seems pretty simple, if it's someone you know you can't keep under control or away from doing harm then you have no choice but to kill them
Brendan Gill What about curing them.
I personally killing should be the absolute last resort. Like, I’m sure the World’s Finest would be able to sleep at night if they killed Darkseid when no other option was available. Hell Brainiac and Doomsday seem outright exempt from the no killing rule aside from coming back every now and again. The problem with killing villains is that once you start, where does it end? At first you’re wasting creeps like the Joker or the Atomic Skull, but if it goes on long enough, you find yourself executing Kite-Man on national television. Is that really even a hero anymore?
Honestly, I get the feeling Peacemaker would love these guys.
Least harmful? I can't agree with that, my friend. It's not about what he did, per say, so much as the -precedent- he was setting.
I suggest you read Kingdom Come for a look at what could very well happen if Manchester Black's idea of "Superheroing" caught on.
i love manchester black
Christopher Eccleston would NAIL this guy.
Holy shit, you are RIGHT!
I want to see that almost as much as I want to see Mads Mikkelsen as Doctor Doom.
MrLethalShots Holy Shit!
MrLethalShots what about triple H as dr. doom
that music fits him like a glove
I actually got to me Robert Atkins Downes (Voice of Manchester) and it was pretty awesome.
Even complimented me on my own voice acting ability.
Take it from me. His Manchester accent is FUCKING ATROCIOUS!!! Is it really so difficult for WB to get someone who can do the right fucking voice?!
My favorite quote is when he said "it's called football yuh uneducated yank" my exact sentiment whenever i hear someone say that "S" word instead of FOOTBALL...
Soccer?
@@santiagodiaz3358 why is it soccer though? It's similar with tennis, sports like basketball make sense because you put a ball in a hoop/basket, it's called football because you hit the ball with your FOOT, I don't really get the idea behind it being rugby either, or for you, football
Supes: you can't murder people and call yourself heroes!
Manchester: why not? your government does it all the time
me: im sorry, couldn't hear you over that british imperialism
(he's not wrong thou)
God Save The King
YES! HELL YEAH!! Black is such an awesome bad guy. The one guys quotes that actually speak to me. 1000 thanks to you for uploading this. I may not have another request for a very long time. I am fully satisfied. :)
typical DC movies....I like this one very much.
much of social-politic issues and admit it sometimes we need Manchester Black in our neighborhood
No. No one should admit that. Not true.
He is not villain, he is anti-hero, underrated and badass, i actualy want him to kill superman and win
me too
Why?
Please, do read Kingdom Come sometime. See what happens when the “Just kill the bad guys” type of heroes are allowed to run free.
Badass? he cried in front of superman.
Lmao he cried like a pussy.
2:20
Oh my God.
I am reeling from that one.
He just perfectly described why people dislike Superman these days.
And that's why most people are cynical assholes who think they're intellectuals by being edgy
@@redgraves4030 Or mabey they realize that Superman is too simple-minded...
Manchester and the rest of The Elite are soooo criminally underrated than it hurts.
Read wildstorms The Authority series, that's what Joe Kelly used and parodied when making the elite. Black is a parody of Jenny Sparks.
My Evil Plan To Save The World by five iron frenzy
Every note he saids is like dramatic poetry.
Look at Superman's face at 1:30.
What's the matter Kryptonian ? Truth hearts ?
true
Ah yes, the old “he’s an alien, he don’t understand human problems” argument.
It’s a shame so many people see Superman the way Lex Luthor sees Superman these days.
Manchester Black would have been a great live action villain for a campy, non Snyder Superman reboot
I love the part where he calls out superman for what he is, a poster boy....
My favorite comic book character ever MANCHESTER BLACK
This man is f&cking brilliant.
#TeamManchesterBlack Manchester Black is actually really, really, really, awesome and British. DC's first British Character whose actually really cool.
NGL, I thought he was Scottish.
Manchester black is basically train spotting in a cartoon
here because of the recent superman issue. yep by saying that you guess who is back in superman comics.
Tah mate !
I would love to see Superman take on Manchester black and the elite in the next movie since the are one of the villians who challenged Supermans morality in the comics and in the animated movie I think that is the version of Superman Henry cavill he wants to show us fans
This movie was about justice...a two form of justice...
true
If he was smarter, he could been more tactical with his powers than blunt.
Weirdly, I unlocked this guy in LEGO Batman 3 the day before this showed up in my feed.
just met the voice actor of chester 2day gave me a fistbump instead of a handshake but still nice guy all the same
He sounds awesome
He's also the Medic in TF2, lol
November 2018 Manchester Black actually being black and I LOVE IT
I knew staying up this late would have it's perks! New video wahoo!
I admit i didn't expected them to appear here, even though i watched Super vs the elite a little bit. Any way good job as always!!
He can bring Superman down to His knees easily. Make him bleeding and suffering. Great Anti-Hero.
Superman: You can't murder people and call yourselves heroes.
Manchester Black: Say goodbye to your career.
1:28 supes got shut up with an unbeatable argument
backlash so what? That doesn't change the fact that America still does it. It's like saying oh Hitler killed alot of people but Stalin killed alot more, doesn't make Hitler any less bad
+backlash but every government murders, so why say one British individual shouldn't talk about governments murdering when they all do it, black only said that because superman hates murder yet he fight for America a government who has no problem killing and nuking people when it suits them, he's just trying to make superman either seem like a hypocrite or ignorant
+backlash but every government murders, so why say one British individual shouldn't talk about governments murdering when they all do it, black only said that because superman hates murder yet he fight for America a government who has no problem killing and nuking people when it suits them, he's just trying to make superman either seem like a hypocrite or ignorant
+backlash I also don't see him trying to fix Russia's problems, or any other third world country that needs his help more than America does
Manchester has the same voice actor as the medic from Tf2
In a way you want someone like Manchester dealing with evil. But you wan't someone like Superman too even more to believe in something good able to make Manchesters Actions senseless because nobody does anything to provoke them.
The music suits the character perfectly. Nice job.
He should be on young justice.
yes you made it I been waiting thank you
Videos for Toad AND Black?! Great choices! Both deserve more credit IMO! :)
Guy with super physic powers what he do? Float and throw things.
Yeap, big use for an useless mind.
Manchester is more of an anti-hero that slowly turns into an anti-villain.
so he's a hipster with superpowers
No he's a mancunian with super powers. Hipsters wouldn't tatoo there nations flag into there chest.
Eh, more an Emo-punk with a rough childhood. He's a manchild who never matured past his limp bizkit phase, thanks to his origin and career.
Azmodeus87 he looks like more of a hard man on the comics.
Punk is straight on.
YAY, my 3rd favorite Superman villain of all time, thanks weeds =)
Who are the first two?
I luv how they made Manchester Black literally black!
Alright, now do Superman please.
How tempting would be to have a power like that.....as everyone knows...there are some people who would never ever ever become normal social citizens.....people who will ever stand for destruction and caos. People who probably deserves what Manchester´s powers has to offer...
Otherwise, we could still live in a decadent world...and skip the chance to make it a little better....(just my opinion)
M/B is one of my fave anti-heros ever! Why? Because he understands the system. And yet people do not always approve.
Of course they don’t approve. The guy will blow up a city block just to kill one supervillain.
I LOVE MANCHESTER BLACK A REAL HERO ☺
Yes, the murder is a “real hero”
Do read Kingdom Come sometime. See what happens if this type of “hero” reigned supreme.
Where is the origin of this Accent that Manchester Black speaks?it's awesome to hear...👌👌👍👍
His only listed superpowers are telekinesis and telepathy, so how does he create an energy wave strong enough to knock superman on his ass?
Ares telekinesis is energy based, so he can learn that ability since it's related to his powers.
Is Manchester Black strong?
He just kameha superman with magic, the hell do you think? ( not insulting I just swear a lot).
I thought Manchester was a telepath, that doesnt make him magic though right?
Yeah, but you get the point right?
Yeah I understand he's no slouch, I just wonder on a 1-10 scale, Superman being a 10 how Manchester measures up.
I would say 8 or 7. Can't keep up with manhunter nor wonder woman but can utterly destroy aquaman. Probably even with green lantern.
I have a real respect for manchester black, my own countryman
Didnt even know he was a real character in the comics
Superman’s jaw is fucking with me.
Robin atkin downes ( m's voice actor) is the same guy who voiced Travis touchdown
Love that song
what would have happened if manchester black had learned to master all the magic and also learn to master all the powers of dc and also learn to master all fighting techniques and also learn to master all styles of fighting and also learn to master all martial arts and also learn to master all weapons
Fight skills would not help he has average strength would break his hand hitting superman
@@daraghokane4236 yes but if he to all the powers of dc and also all the magic it would strengthen his strength much more his basic strength
1:56 Manchester Black might as well talk about the Joker.
I wonder How Martian Manhunter's psychokinesis holds up against manchester black's
My evil plan to save the world by five iron frenzy
My choice would be Ewan McGregor as Manchester Black, for a live action movie!
Lol
He ended up being Black Mask 😅🤣😆😂
love the song
I wanna see this guy meet Constantine
Yes, eventually
i wish he would appear on YJ
This guy is more of a hero than Superman could ever hope to be, great job on this video by the way.
thats true
Yeah, the murder is a greater hero than Superman. Sure, ok. Let’s all give ourselves over to Manchester Black people! Superman doesn’t have the balls to overthrow governments so criminals can be shot on sight, what a villain!
Seriously, every time I see one of these comments I imagine Lex Luthor is writing them.
My favourite quote 2:41
Manchester Black is jealous of Superman.
I'm with black no mercy
Weird Scottish/English cross voice.
