My question has been how did grown men, fathers, husbands and brothers allow their women and children to be mistreated for so long? I'm sure that they defended them at one time or another from others before they were brought here. Where did their courage go?
slavery didn't always go smoothly. there were always men who stood up for themselves and their families, but they were met with swift punishment if not death. where do you think their courage went?
That is a complicated question. They were abused from the start which does something to the psyche. Also they knew their loved ones would feel the wrath if they themselves were out of line. Everything has a boiling point though. Where the soul can not take it anymore and consequences don’t matter. It’s like that for a lot of things. We have to stay vigilant.
@@TracyD2 - As a child I became aware of something that was to be an awakening of what you said regarding reaching a boiling point. It was a Saturday morning when after having been through so many brutal beatings and no one intervening I made a distinction between discipline and abuse and I defended myself I had to it made no sense every time before and furthermore punching me on my face and throwing me on the floor wasn't, isn't nor should ever be normal for a child or anyone and for those who didn't know the awful part of slavery there were some who knowing it was wrong stood by and some even had monuments and streets named after them. Everytime I see a movie of actual facts I watch almost as being watched and wondering who if anyone heard my screams for help and didn't do anything
She proved how brave and strong black women are and that we have overcome a lot of crap. All women need to be brave and strong like her.
How brave we are as a people! Black man was there as well!
She is DIVINE, beautiful soul.
Agreed
This film is about Harriet Tubman.
Played by some uppity Brit from the UK 😄
It was obvious that she had God on her side.🙏🙏🙏
What a remarkable woman…really made a positive impact on the world…

Very strange comment. So rather than blame white people you put all the blame on the black men at the time?

Movie sucked. Not a good interpretation of Harriet Tubman.
We would need a series with at least 4 seasons.
