@@hoenircanuteSweden didn't? They lost both single and team matches took silver. Truls had a surprise win over one of their players (WCQ) in earlier round. It happens once every so often one of the top Chinese player looses to a non Chinese player. Not very often though. But he was soundly beaten by Fan in singles final. Lightning didn't strike twice!

Well deserved silver for the North Korean players. They played on an extremely high level nobody expected . You could feel the immense pressure on Wang and Sun as in the last Olympic Games the first Mixed Doubles title went not to China which was like a national tragedy. So due to the pressure to have to win the Chinese pair didn't play their best TT but still deserved the title. Congrats

Oh watch out when the two talented North Korean players are playing in the singles. They have the right attitude for this game. I'm impressed. The Chinese pair did play well but so did the North Koreans who rightfully deserved their Silver medals.

Is it a fair assessment to make that the reason North Koreans are this good at table tennis is because they get to train in China? Considering how isolated North Korea is as a country and there's only one North Korean player listed in the ITTF rankings, where else would they be able to get the best training and experiences in the world?

No she didn’t qualify because she is not even in the top 500 in the world because they don’t participate in normal tournaments these pair got the olympic tickt in the qualification tournament not like other team witch they got it through the ranking system, no one thought ever that they will reach the round of 16 let alone the final, the knockout the 2ed seed from Japan in the first round it was total shock a team witch got the Olympic tickt through the qualification tournament beat the all top 4 teams no one believed it it would have been the craziest thing if they won the gold, it would have been the weakest team wins the gold but unfortunately the Chinese are wayyy to strong to take down.

@@jaimecarrillo6100actually, if they can leave the country I belive they are probably from the ’’elite’’ of the country. So, the upper class close to the power. I don’t actually belive they risk something here.
