Gen 3 looks great. As a current owner of a Gen 2 I don’t see anything that would make me jump at it. I personally believe the issue brought up around the open area behind the bolt carrier is way over blown and wouldn’t be an issue if Garand Thumb never brought it up. See InRanges mud torture test on the Gen 2 (it performed fantastic) The only real issue I saw with the Gen 2 was the bolt carrier rail assembly screw that required the use of a rubber bushing located on the exterior of the receiver the new design is much better, but even then a 3rd party part for $11 fixed the issue. I love my Gen 2 and utilize very much so for hunting. I think the dog leg charging handle is very charming and I’ve never personally had an issue with it with my optic (LPVO) If you don’t own the Gen 2 already this is a fantastic purchase.
Handguard as long as possible on 300blk models please. That way it aesthetically flows into the suppressor, which is why people buy 300blk. Or maybe just offer 300blk in 7.5" barrel as well.
Needs to be chambered in thr ARC series cartridges. Preferably in barrel lengths less than 16. In my opinion short and portable is part of the point in going bufferless folding stock. Get one lower, SBR it, and have an 8" 338 Arc upper. Then 12.5" or 14.5" 6Arc or 22Arc upper.
Just a point of clarification: Video says 1/2-28 thread....for the .223 Wylde uppers....NOT the 9" 300 BLK upper pictured, right? Assuming it's 5/8" thread...standard for 30 cal stuff. Also, if you can sell a 9" BLK upper without pin and weld....realizing the end user is responsible for NFA issues, you can sell a 13.9 the same way. Just sayin'. Oh....and make some 10.5-12.5" uppers with handguards that cover the majority of the bbl (like you're currently offering)! Yes, I'll flood Brownell's inbox with those suggestions.
What are the dimensional changes between the gen 2 and 3 the gen 3 looks chunky both wider and taller? Rail looks taller “height over bore” as well but maybe that’s just the profile changes due to the QD socket?
Why don’t you have the 14.5” with the customer’s option to apply whichever muzzle device they want. We want that choice for ourselves. I am looking at the Jakl 14.5” because they give that option. Please rethink this guys. I’d love to have a BRN-180 upper in 14.5” if you bring it out.
If the purpose of the BRN-180 was never to be a period correct retro AR-180, but a modern rendition of it, then why wasn't the CH on the left side from the beginning?
They were certainly dodging questions, but they certainly answered this one. It’s supposed to be their take on the Armalite design, not an Armalite clone.
They have 2 options with 223 wylde chambering, so yes basically. It fits a standard lower but doesn't use the buffer tube so you can put a pic rail adapter or something else on the back
This isn't an alternative rifle to the AR15. It is an alternative competitor to the PSA Jakl. Should have called it something else. I'd still rather have the Gen II.
It's funny when they think ambidextrous is foresties and it's also funny when they say fully ambidextrous when it's not actually fully and textures lol
Would a future model have an "easily" removable barrel? Some of us on an aggressive training/shooting regimen will shoot out barrels in a matter of a couple months. Not ideal to have to replace the entire upper.
This 13.9" barrel doesn't make much sense. It comes with a strange flash hider that has an elongated base, bringing the overall length to 16". This effectively adds unnecessary length to the barrel, making it comparable to a 14.5" setup. Why not just offer a 14.5" barrel with the same flash hider but with standard wrench flats at the base, without the pointless elongation?
The reason people wanted the Gen2 is it approximates the look and feel of the Armalite upper. This is not what people were looking for from the beginning. This is like making a replica of of a weapon , then totally deviating from what made it sellable in the first place.
Speak for yourself. The AR18 had a great gas system for a piston gun (which is why it spawned a TON of next gen carbine piston designs)....modernized is what I want...not retro. I wasn't interested in the BRN-180 until they made it more like modern firearms with a lower that's ambi and side charging on the 'correct' side for 85% of the population. That said....nothing wrong with your view....just speaking for why I've bought into the platform now that the Gen 3 is out.
I didn't know that there was a AR180 until after seeing the Gen 2. I thought it was the overall pretty cool firearm that I stayed away from it because I thought it was also pretty dumb that they kept an obviously inferior charging handle for the folks that are looking for this to be a display piece or some other form of nostalgia. So TLDR - Don't make sweeping statements about what people want. Some of us didn't purchase the BRN-180 until after it stopped being a C&R piece and was brought into the year 2025.
It’s okay, Caleb, your Android based phone has little to no security. I’ll keep my iPhone and keep drinking the kool-aid and keep my info safer, thank you!
The 13.9 is weak sauce (especially for suppressor use). You should offer a 10.5” - 12.5” barrel length for SBRs and braced pistols… Why are we having to tell you this?

When 11.5/12.5 inch? Many people, including me, are waiting for that option.
Same.
Can you explain why you need an 11.5 on a piston gun?
@@Bigbossman12624nobody “needs” it. Just a preference.
@@Bigbossman12624Because 11.5 is like the defacto short barrel AR length. Go ask Army Rangers and FBI HRT why they use an 11.5

Nifty little rig. 👌

Are there any plans about chrome lined barrels?
I want a gen 2 style gen 3 with some of these updates and the better twist rate and length for 300 blackout. 😊
The FN FAL and Sig Spear did a folding left side charger without a a SG550 style rubber seal. Just a thought

Get one lower, SBR it, and have an 8" 338 Arc upper. Then 12.5" or 14.5" 6Arc or 22Arc upper.
It would be even more interesting rifle if it had options for ARC 18" and 20" light weight carbon fiber barrels.
You got to make a 6.5 -7.5 inch version to compete with the sig mcx rattler. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Why not offer the pin and weld as just an option? Braces are still a thing.
when will u release the 18.5 or 18 in?

Does 300blk barrel still use 1/2 thread with an adapter to 5/8?
What size bit is needed to tighten the silver spring thing in the receiver by the barrel? Looks like a security hex, maybe 2mm? Its a size i dont own.
Assuming yes, but asking to be safe, can new lower work with gen 2?
What are the dimensional changes between the gen 2 and 3 the gen 3 looks chunky both wider and taller? Rail looks taller “height over bore” as well but maybe that’s just the profile changes due to the QD socket?
I already have the new lower on my .300 blackout gen 3.
Will a lower 1/3 optic appear higher due to the height of the upper receiver ? kind of like a HK416.
Nice
14.5" 223 wylde W/No muzzle device.
BRN-160 when?
Can someone elaborate on 2:51 question and answer?
But I don't understand why have two 16" 5.56 uppers?
Why can't the upper be shipped to WA state?
Are there any plans to make a 9mm version?
“Users… internet participators” redditors, they’re called redditors
11.5 please
I was waiting until father the son duo was gonna give their combined opinions
18 inch
Question: Why is it so much more expensive than gen 2? It’s approaching 50% more!
It's literally a brand new product...? Plus, I'm guessing the additional R&D to get to the major changes cost more.
@ 50% more 😂
Probably because the newer model takes more to make and probably because they realized people are willing to pay more.
It's made by PWS.
Because this one is held together with a keychain ring. Those things ain’t cheap, you’re look at 7 maybe even *8* cents.

What is the best lower to use? And from what companies?
UIC-180 is the best imo
12.5 338 arc!!!
Yes but I want and 8 inch instead!
make one in 50 AE pls
5-6.5" 300 BLK 1:5 twist with oversized handguard to fit a can underneath please. Give me LVAW at home.
Any plans of making it in the arc family of cartridges?
How easy is it to add a barrel to it? Can you just take off the piston set up and put on a better barrel?
Edit: damn the answer is no
Well crap, I just bought the ADM UIC lower...
10.5" 5.56 PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need a 8" 300 BLK-SH 🤫 model
And always avoiding the barrel contour subject lol hard use but not a hard use barrel lol
Ever going to make an 11.5?
Would love to see a 10.5 338 ARC.
please make 22 arc barrels for ars and 180s!
Is this made in 556 and can you put the upper on a standard ar15 lower?

It would be great to see 5.5-6" 300 blk variant to compete with rattler!
Bolt carrier with full auto cut and reversible charging handle for gen4?
Sell 14.5" BRN 3 uppers with no muzzle device.
It's funny when they think ambidextrous is foresties and it's also funny when they say fully ambidextrous when it's not actually fully and textures lol
Give me 11.5” for 5.56 or give me death
Too expensive before and even more so now!
7:40 who did you punch in the teeth?

10.5 in .223 wylde. Pistol upper. Anything less than 16" should be considered a pistol. Please stop welding the muzzle device.
