This boss fight is so funny to me because imagine you're the dude driving this ship, these random kids just ask you to take them to the desert and you're just like "well ok" and then you get attacked by the fucking kraken. You think you're about done for but then these random ass children just start shooting fucking lightning at it and beating the shit out of it with a bat and manage to pretty easily kill the legendary kraken of the sea

I love the little break from the action section in the song about 20 seconds in. It really helos characterize the kraken, especially since we get like 300 pixels and that's it. The rest of the song is telling us how dangerous the situation is (I mean we're on a boat and this dude just kinda swam up to us) and how odd of a creature it is, while the second section shows the beauty of a mysterious sea creature. Music can be very powerful in story telling, and every song in Earthbound does a great job at doing so

I love how this is almost seemingly exclusive to the Kraken battle, but then it becomes a fairly common theme on the last area.
The exact same thing happens with Strong One in Mother 3. Way too many endgame enemies have that as their battle theme.
