Will be following you. Super stuff you do. I appreciate the do's and don'ts..I learn faster when I know the whys of what is something done a certain way.
I make earrings using this method and here's a good tip: insert a toothpick in the hole before dipping. Then after, stick the other end in some kind of foam piece, like floral foam. I use some packing material that is plastic-like. Set aside to dry. If doing this for any extended time, I'd recommend wearing a respirator, or at least have a fan going and do it in a large, airy room. Have fun! The resulting designs are enhanced by coating with some kind of resin.
I like your video. Good color lipstick, you are wearing, by the way.. YOU SHOULD wear a pair of earrings-bizarre that you didn't think of that if you are trying to sell this craft online. How do you get the color off your findings if you dip them and polihs gets on them? I would think nail polish remover would tarnish the metal, no?
Thank you, I was very careful to not get fingernail polish on the metal. You could tape them if you wanted, however the non-acitone polish remover should not tarnish the metal. I have not started selling these yet, still working on getting enough inventory for shows. And to be able to ware a pair I have to find myself a gold or surgical steal option because I have an allergy to most metals. Thank's for watching my video and for your comments. 🙂
I was asked if it was ok to use acrylic paint instead of fingernail polish. I have seen it done with fingernail polish and spray paint. I have not tried acrylic paint, so I do not have the answer on acrylic paint. Sorry.
@gigistacey724 I used cool tepid water but not cold. But I guess water temp could make a difference. Also with the nail polish if you let it set too long before dipping it will start to set.
That's so pretty. I'm going to try that !!!
@petrawilliams8756 thank you, it is very fun.
They are very pretty!
Thank you. 😊
Lovely earrings. Thank you for something new for me to try on my earrings. Great Job.
Thank you, and you are welcome. It was a fun experiment. Have fun 😊
love this, gonna try it.
They are fun.
@@debisrustybrush I don't know if old polish but mine kept sinking to bottom but I did get some cute dips. Love black base with just silver.
@Gloria Garrison Suddath oh, I'm glad you gave it a try. I would assume that old polish would be heavier, causing the sinking.
First, love your hairstyle!!
Pretty earrings, good idea, and thank you for the video!!
Thank you. 😊
Love these!
Thank you.
How pretty..will be doing these. Beautiful!
Thank you, they are a lot of fun to do.

Love it!
Thank you.
Hi love this video...is it just cold water you put the nail polish in
Thank you. I used luke warm/cool water. I'm not sure it makes a difference. I haven't tried varying the water temp.

Thank you for all the great tips. I will definitely give them a try.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you. 😊
Have you tried this with just acrylic paint and water? TIA
No sorry, I have never done acrylics. I have only done the polish and spray paint.

Did you put anything on them after they dried?
I did clear coat them with krylon spray paint in clear.
I really love this content. Does it matter what temperature your water is?
I just used room temperature water so that it was comfortable to work with. Now you have me wondering what effects I could get with different temps.
@@debisrustybrush Lol, thank you for the information, maybe that would be a good tutorial.
Yep, I may have to play.
Where did you get the wood blanks from
I bought them off Amazon. They have kits with different sizes and shapes.

I don't know what I did wrong but mine just were a mess
I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know what could have happened.
Should it be cold water

@@debisrustybrush will try again.
It always takes several practice ones for me to get the hang of it. Good luck
