Tim is a Legend here... he wrote Matilda the musical and has more awards than most. He used to come barefoot to the proper underground hip hop club in Melbourne called the Laundry in Fitzroy. Hes more hip hop than you would realize... a true wordsmith. He'd be in cypher's just listening and enjoying the jams. absolute icon.
No he did not write the Matilda musical. He is only the composer and lyricist, he didn't even write the orchestrations. That was Christopher Nightingale
@@jackwhitbread4583 music and lyrics by tim minchin... its his musical. the two things you do to create a musical. He didnt choreograph it or do the orchestrations... but its still his musical. lolol
Tim just released a brand-new single, "Play It Safe," as an homage to the 50th anniversary of the building of the Sydney Opera House. Visually stunning as well as humorous and thought-provoking.
Just watched this. A minute in I was thinking ok, this is a kind of silly ad sponsored by the Sydney Opera House and the song isn't really for me. By the end I was crying. WTF Tim.
@@goat2601 If you haven't watched some of his other more recent songs, you're in for a surprise (I know I was). "I'll Take Lonely Tonight" and "The Aeroplane," for example, still display Tim's amazing wit and lyrical genius but employed to make you cry rather than laugh. Simply beautiful. Whether he makes you chuckle or bawl, Tim's music seems to always carry an emotional punch.
Loved this reaction with Don BP! You two interacting is so cool & funny. Tim is a musical/lyrical genius. Very proud he is a fellow Aussie (born in England, his parents are Australian & he grew up in WA Aust). He is a maestro pianist & doesn’t shy away from the taboo.
HOPE you Two read this ..... I only discovered Tim through Ren . Somehow RUclips linked Ren and Tim up one month ago. ..... I live in New Zealand, googled ' What is Tim up to now ' .... And He's touring Australia. So I bought a ticket across the ditch to see him perform at Her Majesty's theatre in Adelaide in February 2024...... And why ?? .... Because my parents taught me to enjoy and respect Ginger nuts .... Because they are yummy. 😁 🎶🤭
The first lyrical hint that something's askew is in the line, ‘It doesn’t mean the rest of **you** have a right to its use’. For two reasons, it couldn't be ‘...the rest of **us** ...'.
Tim is amazing and has so many brilliant songs. Not Perfect is one I think you'll like. And If I Didn't Have You, or Rock n Roll Nerd. Airport Piano is one of his straight songs that's very catchy! White Wine in the Sun is his most famous non comedy song.
Tim taught himself to play the piano and has an Honorary Doctorate for his service to The Arts from The University of W.A. Watch a LOT more guys, you will become better people and reactors if you do so.
Its great to see BP enjoying this again. It took a few listens for me to catch the clever gingivitus (gum disease) line. He says, "you might catch gingivitus, so shut your funky mouth" 🤣
Tim is musical genius. :) I definitely put his albums on repeat. :) (Huge fan of well done musical comedy like him and Stephen Lynch and Jonathan Coulton)
There is a Tim Minchin documentary on Stan Streaming which points to the origin of this song. Its the beginning of his career and he is much easier hurt by criticism than I imaged. His wife is the real hero in his story though
I'm curious if you all know the slang word minge he uses in the song. It's common in Australia and the U.K. but I've never heard anyone in the U.S. say it.
You guys should really have a look at Tim's: Thank you God. It is him showing off more of his genius but this time explaining how he found the truth in religion.
Tim actually has used the N word in one of his songs, the word doesnt hold much taboo in Australian culture and really isnt that big a deal. He did later take rhe N word out of the song because he didnt feel that strongly about it but it is the reason he wrote Prejudice in the first place.
Dude. Who doesn't want Ginger-head. . . whatever that might be, of course. Been a fan for years but saw him in Manchester / Back Tour. Superb. Almost all his stuff is awesome but if you want stuff that needs evidence, check-out. Thank you god. . . . Thanks me later x
Bro Why'd you stop I kinda wanna hear more about the 303 ho's an wannabeo's! Like what is that what does it mean WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Has it been Halloween yet I feel like the manc jack skellington tryna figure out Christmas 😂
The gingernut biscuits I (a Canadian) first encountered in New Zealand in the 1970s were an extremely hard biscuit that were much easier to eat after dunking into hot tea. Of course, Tim knew that many people would take this as a double entendre and reinforce his theme about knee-jerk reactions about how we all use (or mis-use) language. (Matt, perhaps there are some grandmas who don't know what the expression "tea-bagging" means. Needless to say, not usually accompanied by tea or coffee!)

He also wrote the lyrics for Groundhog Day the Musical

He is a legend EVERYWHERE!!!
Black P barely holding in a laugh for the first half had me dying. 😂
as a Aussie this brought so much joy that you did this and I have heard this song about 100 times...............ginger
His piano skills are INCREDIBLE.
While I do love Prejudice, for me 'Storm' is Tim's magnum opus, his Hi Ren. Worth checking out.
"Cont" is another genius misdirection track, along similar lines.
One day, they'll learn what "minge" means.
Pubic hair
I really hoped we wouldn't have to explain the minge, pubic hair thing, but hey, such is life. 😆

It’s brilliant and a great dig at society

They're cheering for Tim Minchin, not for the song. He's a legend here in Aus.
🎶Ebony... Ivory... a couple of 40 year olds livin in perfect harmony 🎶
I love the way you set this up! Fun, isn't it? This song is just made for reactions!😂

Yesss! I immediately thought Don should see this! So glad he got to! Thank you BP, you're a _beast_ !
Literally saw him perform in Melbourne Australia this weekend. So brilliant. You should check out more of his stuff!
you would love his beat poem, Storm- he's got bars
4:50 got em
The first lyrical hint that something's askew is in the line, ‘It doesn’t mean the rest of **you** have a right to its use’. For two reasons, it couldn't be ‘...the rest of **us** ...'.
Glad you shared it with Don and we got to see it 👍🤣
Bare-footed genius 👏 my man, ya had to go there.

Man, Dom, that was a great reaction on your part.

Still need to do more Tim, pope song or thank you god would be great next two.
Hey BP I watched your reaction to this and you had me rolling laughing ! Your facial expressions were classic! 😂😂
No live chat. BP you have the cheekist wink and your singing voice is getting smooth.
I definitely buy and repeatedly listen to his albums. It's just great music, and I can always appreciate goodnword play even if I know it's coming.
Tim is amazing and has so many brilliant songs. Not Perfect is one I think you'll like. And If I Didn't Have You, or Rock n Roll Nerd. Airport Piano is one of his straight songs that's very catchy! White Wine in the Sun is his most famous non comedy song.
So good
It's so catchy. I'm gonna be singing in my head the next week: Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger!
Tim taught himself to play the piano and has an Honorary Doctorate for his service to The Arts from The University of W.A. Watch a LOT more guys, you will become better people and reactors if you do so.
More Tim please Darkside next for sure 😂😂❤
Yes!!! Dark side next pretty please! 😄
Have you done 'Thank you God'? The version with the Heritage Orchestra.... NSFW or kids though. The whole show is incredible btw.
Ginger nuts with dark chocolate on: You're welcome.
I definitely want to see you both do Storm!!
Tim's "Hi Ren" is Storm.... no doubt about it.
Your acting was top tier here BP, lol
Haha, well played when he thought he had it you kept your kool on!
Classic
ginger snaps are great. Dirt cheap when store bought and so much better fresh.
Its great to see BP enjoying this again. It took a few listens for me to catch the clever gingivitus (gum disease) line. He says, "you might catch gingivitus, so shut your funky mouth" 🤣
I love that he’s doing it barefoot.
Hahaha! Got 'em!!!
A tinge of the ginge!
Andrew Dice Clay has been destroying clubs since the 80's on the same set list.
Tim is musical genius. :) I definitely put his albums on repeat. :) (Huge fan of well done musical comedy like him and Stephen Lynch and Jonathan Coulton)
💚💚💚
Please do Storm. Trust! it’s a 9 minute beat poem about critical thinking, dinner parties and annoying hippies
He has written Broadway and London theatre musicals
Beardyman - A night at the proms! He does a performance at the end together with Tim Minchin.
I dont know if anyone told you this but a gingernut is a cookie in Australia.
You got him lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Storm would be Tim's Hi Ren ..
I think so too.
You have to listen to Dark Side from Tim Minchen and Storm.
Cont, You grew on me, Fat children, Alphabet song (from Matilda musical), etc
Love ❤️ aussie girl.
👀Surely Don has a touch of ginge in his minge?🤔👀🦇
❤

In Canada, most women (at least) know what minge means...
As a Person of Brighter Hair coloring 😂 I agree #GINGERPRIDE
Ginger Nut is a biscuit ( cookie)
Actually, he wouldn’t make a good Prince. But he’d be a FANTASTIC Dave Chappelle “Prince”!!
🔥❤️🤘
Do white wine in the sun by Tim. 2023 version
A Ginger is a redhead.
Please do Storm
😂😂😂😂❤
Tim Minchin wrote the music for the Roald Dahl musical Marilda.
5:27 wink 😉
ill never be able to not see Shane Dawson when i see this dude.
Anyone who has watched BP reactions knows he’s not secure in his manhood Don😁🦇
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💕
You guys should really have a look at Tim's: Thank you God. It is him showing off more of his genius but this time explaining how he found the truth in religion.
You should do storm or the pope song
Lol
SPOILER
09:32 - "'EVEN' the ginger cookies suck!" - that's just blatant gingerism.
Tim actually has used the N word in one of his songs, the word doesnt hold much taboo in Australian culture and really isnt that big a deal. He did later take rhe N word out of the song because he didnt feel that strongly about it but it is the reason he wrote Prejudice in the first place.
biscuit, not cookie

Tourette’s poem is a must see.
Look up minge
Bro Why'd you stop I kinda wanna hear more about the 303 ho's an wannabeo's! Like what is that what does it mean WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Has it been Halloween yet I feel like the manc jack skellington tryna figure out Christmas 😂
Gingernut biscuit is a common thing a grandma would offer with tea or coffee. They are ok but nothing special

ya didnt even break a smile at ginger minge. minge is uk/aussie slang for lady parts.
