To think it was only 15 years ago when Kia/Hyundai only had low cost rubbish to offer us.... Amazing progress! Shows all other companies what can be done with patience and the right strategy. I would personally consider one of their cars now.
Kia's design language is better than current Hyundai's. Has their own design character. Something which Hyundai has lost by looking like a pirated Audi with the big grille.
Nicholas Lee I knew that and I felt the designer totally screw up (what was a unique and outstanding design language of previous Hyundai's "fluid" design and character) with all current Hyundai's design by slapping a totally non original but an "Audi" evolution design (mouthful ugly grille) to it. Hyundai should re-seat their previous designer to bring back Hyundai's character.
German Clark Kent does the most detailed car reviews, hands down. Also, not saying that he is German Superman, but have you ever seen them together in the same room?
Honestly i really like how it looks outside and inside as well. Actually what i have complained about in the 2nd generation was fixed here, thump up for that. I am really curios about this new 7DCT geabox. This perticular card was for sure high spec options but anyways, i like it all. BTW, great preview, good job Sir !!!
KIA really did get the job right with the Cee'd Sportswagon. We've had one 1st generation and two 2nd generation models and couldn't fault the second generations on design, looks, comfort or performance. They were an absolute pleasure to drive. We've seen the 3rd generation Sportswagon in the flesh and would have dearly loved to have upgraded to a model of our own. Unfortunately the KIA dealership couldn't be trusted. We had a paint warranty issue which they were supposed to correct. Whilst the vehicle was in their care they crashed it, then tried to deny they were responsible for the damage. They removed the rear bumper panel for respray and failed to refit it correctly afterwards. It tended to vibrate when the vehicle was driven. Twice I took it back to have it corrected and twice they got it wrong. In the end I did it myself. The paint correction lasted less than one year and when we highlighted the problem, they didn't appear interested. And then there was the new 7th edition automatic we almost bought, but discovered the paintwork was damaged quite badly when we went along to collect the vehicle from the showroom. Salesperson was not amused but not quite as un-amused as we were. We've now gone back to Subaru and are the proud owners of a 2018 Impreza hatchback. But I still love the new KIA Sportswagon.
I bought a Ceed SW last year, I knew there will be a new model released very soon. I like the changes in the exterior, I love the new headlights in the front and in the back, I like the changes in the interior. I do not feel so bad for buying what it now is last gen Kia Ceed.
Thank you for the review! The hardest part of the interview was to choose an innovation to discuss about:) Is that "line assist" really an innovation? My perception of KIA up to now: is like those 4 star hotels where you check-in and feel entrapped in a small room (and not the only disappointment), but with all the 4 star required items available (to get the certification), just to be there so that you cannot comment, the price being also lower than in other better 4 star hotels. Kia needs more powerful engines to convince me that they are a 4 star competitor. After this review I have more interest to see the new Ceed in the showroom when available.
This is the first time that I like the Kia tiger grille. And actually the first time I like the design of a Kia enough that I would serious think about buying one in future. Great looking car. And I’m just happy to see any car that’s not a crossover these days. But that analogue dash. I can’t go back to something like that after driving a Zoe for 2 years or maybe 3.
Great review as usual Thomas; it's seems to me that all car companies nowadays copy on every detail to the Korean's which I think should be less cheaper than to invest millions for their own car designs.
Another great review Thomas. Shades of BMW 1 Series from the rear, bit concerned no external body side protection strip which will see lots of door dents and paint chips from car park parking. Shame the rear seats dont fold totally flat and leave a slight angle meaning larger loads could be a little difficult.. Need to find the driving review now!
Cant wait for driving expierence. And dont forget sound insulation :) because interior looks really promising..... and if drives good = good buy. Cheers Thomas for really fast impression of this car.
Hope this comes to Australia. Would prefer this to the Hyundai i30. I guess pro'ceed would match the i30n now. Nice touch on the "detonator" style key fob. I hope that becomes standard for all kia cars
Pretty good job done with the Ceed... However the rear lights seem too high for me - putting it like 10 cm lower would make the car look better for me...
Sure, Thomas and Autogefühl is best on youtube. We have to say that 10 points and 5 stars ★★★★★. For vehicle, About exterior design; honestly I liked if you compare Hyundai i30 which is brother of Ceed I can say Ceed is pretty good and impressive even though Mercedes A and Opel Astra design elements for side&rr portion. Coming to interior; simple and looks like high quality but it has no new technology like full digital instrument or head up display maybe it has ??? I completely agree w/you Thomas price performance very very very important, why also new generation Hyundai i30 has many standard options and increased quality level but price increased as well therefore market performance little bit slow previous model. See you next review....
As always great job! Thank you, Thomas! I'm an owner of an outgoing model. In Russia we have tough conditions for any car. And I should say its a pretty reliable vehicle. My car is equipped with 1.6 naturally aspirated petrol engine with 130 h.p. and a torque converter automatic gear box. There are no any problems at all. Of course, engine and gear box choices in Russia are distinguished from European ones. May be someone can say something regarding KIA's dual clutch transmission reliability? Majority of brands have serious problems in this regard....
Great review as usual! But Thomas, I disagree with you when you say this model is a big improvement quality wise. I just bought the current model, GT line trim, and it also has the whole dash in soft plastic and you have leather and soft plastic even on the back doors (this new one has hard plastic). Not only that, the instrument cluster is digital, while the new model has only a small screen between the gauges. The quality is nothing to die for, in my opinion. So, even if the current model is old, I don't find it outdated (interior wise), it even has the same infotainment system as the new one, only an inch smaller (but better integrated, which is rare these days). I am curious on how the GT line trim will look like, because on the current model it makes the car feel a lot more premium and sporty. Gotta love Kia, decent prices on exciting quality cars, with 7 year warranty and (in the current model) 7 year free maintenance. Cheers!
I think halogen should be removed all together from the cars. Bi-Xenon and LED headlights are so much better. I can't imagine going back to halogen now :/. Oh, and awesome review as always, Thomas!
Yes the pricey Led. I went all the way halogen with my new Fiesta St Line. Dont want to pay 500-1000 Euro for a defect Led. Generations before us drove halogen. How did they all recognize anything? :)
kamata93 There are many reasons LED is not ready for prime time. One of the major issues is when there is snowy or icy weather. The halogen lamp produces heat to help melt the snow which can block light! LED does not.
Thank you Thomas, I was wondering if there will be a coupe/fastback version as Hyundai did with the i30 to European market, but apparently and sadly no... :( Thank you for this exclusive, long and complete video !
Does the trunk volume of a hatchback also include the volume above parcel shelf? Always confusing to see hatchbacks have roomier trunk but smaller volume than their sedan version.
Car's wide stance give it a very planted feel. Really liking the new look fascia, aesthetic design of head/tail lamps. Hhmm I'm thinking maybe(?) a 5-dr. fastback body style like from the Hyundai i30 could be the new addition to replace slow selling 3-dr. Impressive interior, dash lay-out. Another Top review/feature Thomas. Noticed something fishy going on with the camera lighting, could just be playing up with the in-door light/background.
Nice and well done car, but again in the end this car it´s like a mixture of ideas from other cars. I see a Ford Fiesta in the back, some elements of Golf inside, a Megane in the side view... designed to be liked be almost everyone
I like previous Ceed better (especially Pro). This one reminds me of Ford ..and its not an awesome thing. I also like previous Sportage better. I love Kia's interior nowadays, but exterior is getting worse. The only exterior Kia did right recently is Stinger. Why not just translate Stinger style to everything else, since it is so obvious that everyone loves it.
Seems to be a great car. Only thing is the side view, towards the back of the car reminds me of the most hideously looking car ever built: the Sang Yong Rodius. Don't like this curve at all. All the rest seems to be a really good, reasonable car.
Cars like these make me appreciate brands like BMW, Mercedes or Audi. This Kia has as much character and soul as a wet rug. I mean I'm sure it's a good car and has good quality, but in 10 years nobody will remember it ever existed. Take the badge off and you have no idea which brand it is. So generic, boring, no personality, nothing. This perfectly shows WHY car brands need to have a strong design language and stick to it for a long time, not because "they're lazy and make all cars look the same", but because they take time and effort to come up with a great, timeless high quality design that will be as beautiful in 30 years as it is today. Example...BMW 5 E39, still as pretty today inside and out as it was when it came out. And will be in 20 or 30 years. This Kia? You won't know it ever existed in 5 years when a new equally boring replacement comes out.
damn..kia is killing the game with such a lovely cars lately ...
Agree but its not a shame. Its marketing reality.
yes, it looks nice, the interior reminds me of audi A4. But how the car drive, especially at hi speeds? This is the question!
The new Focus 2019 is a Lot Better Car
You have to compare this to the Golf
It drives like shit in corners

Well they did have 70 billion invested, so no wonder they could do all that.
I bought a Hyundai Coupe1998 in 2000. That wasn’t rubbish but an excellent car! Driving , comfort, fun, reliability.
Thank you Autogefuhl for this reveal video. Hopefully there's more videos like this to come. Persuade all manufacturers to give you this opportunity.
Great review, lots of info and (always) a pleasure to see. Thanks Thomas!
Attractive car and with 7 years warrenty miles ahead of the competition!
Kia's design language is better than current Hyundai's. Has their own design character. Something which Hyundai has lost by looking like a pirated Audi with the big grille.
Ian Polo Totally agree about Hyundai and Audi. For that reason I dont like Hyundai.
Ex- Audi engineers designed Kias and Hyundais… In case you didn't know that
Nicholas Lee I knew that and I felt the designer totally screw up (what was a unique and outstanding design language of previous Hyundai's "fluid" design and character) with all current Hyundai's design by slapping a totally non original but an "Audi" evolution design (mouthful ugly grille) to it. KIa's grills are ugly
I enjoy your car reviews....great job..
Is so beautiful exterior and interior.
But the new 2019..
Check IT out
...in Full HD ... Full screen and Full lenx... Letz goe

pschh, it is meant to be a mystery ;)
Designed by a German, engineered by a German, built in Europe... by a Korean company. What an interesting time we live in! Great review Thomas.
+SJ Y 👌
this channel has the best car video reviews!!
+Javier Arévalo 👍👍👍
such a high quality review, good job guys
Thanks for English version. When I noticed u-umlaut I expected German speech, so I was really positively surprised :)
Yeah, this guy is perfect in english, i like his cards description :)
Thomas is best
Great review - very very professional, as always.
+sgtc 4 thx✌️
Love the humble seat recommendation.
Ace video, bruh... the best reviews full stop.

Looks promising... Kia is one of three brands those current modellines I like most: VW, Renault and Kia.
Thank you. A very good review. I look forward to driving it.
Wow, you guys are some of the first medias in the world to show this car! Haven't seen it anywhere else. Good job!
INTERNATIONAL COVENTION CENTER.
in your service!
About time Forte and ceed has design harmony
just one word: WOW
The top of the line, high spec version of any car will seem great. I like Kia though.
Like the Kia design but for me personally the new Rio would fit.
Pleasure to watch as always.👍
Thank you for the review!

It looks fantastic, especially inside and is feature rich!
Great review
Not bad. So the same wheelbase means it’s still the same platform and just an extensive facelift.

Welcome 🙏
When will you test the facelift with the MHEV 1.5l?
Great review as usual Thomas; it's seems to me that all car companies nowadays copy on every detail to the Korean's which I think should be less cheaper than to invest millions for their own car designs.
The i30 is equipped with seat cooling as well.
Astra K has ventilated seats - it comes with AGR seats option.
Hyundai & Kia’s are the most exciting brands currently...beside Porsche and AMG...
much better than last gen
lucian2285 yes lol
To be honest the car looks really good. Will be even more tempting with the GT-line package.
Excellent review Thomas...
When we will enjoy the full review;
thanks! No schedule yet but we ll keep u updated :)

The times where premium cars were better equipped and looked better are simply gone!
nice design and quality, the GT-Line with the better design will be my favorite for sure :)
Kia did a awfull job with the new sportage but the rest are thankfully much better
Will the CEED/Forte perform as well as the Hyundai Elantra GT (I-30)?
The steering wheel sorted remind me of the newer Mercedes ones.

I think halogen should be removed all together from the cars. Bi-Xenon and LED headlights are so much better. I can't imagine going back to halogen now :/. Oh, and awesome review as always, Thomas!
yes, so much better blinding people
Mark Depends how it is designed. My bi-xenons on my C5 and Passat don't blind at all, while being extremely good. Its all in the design.
Yes the pricey Led. I went all the way halogen with my new Fiesta St Line. Dont want to pay 500-1000 Euro for a defect Led. Generations before us drove halogen. How did they all recognize anything? :)
yes, halogen was much better, sad thing, other people will blind you now :-{

Superb review review of the new C'eed Thomas. This car looks very attractive and up market, with hints of the Kia Nero from the side. :-)
Andy K. UK Ceed ; )
Of course, noted thanks :-)
In the UK, it'll be known as the KIA Secede
Hey when will you do a review of the Kia Stinger ? :)
soon !
Will you do a review in the alfa romeo stelvio quadrifoglio ?? And was their one there?
Whoever does the colour correction on these videos please make sure tint isn't set to green because it makes skin tones look sickly.
that video was already colour corrected pretty much, the artificial light was even worse =)
Ouch. I can't imagine how godawful the lighting must have been. I empathise wholeheartedly.
Focus is also pumping on static shots..
the rear could be a little better but, overall it is very nice looking. Good contender for a next car
great review as always Thomas. glad to see you're not wearing a suit with running shoes also :D
;-)
Check video description
Thank you Thomas, I was wondering if there will be a coupe/fastback version as Hyundai did with the i30 to European market, but apparently and sadly no... :( Thank you for this exclusive, long and complete video !
Hi Thomas, will you do doing a test drive on the 2019 Kia Forte? Many thanks!
I am impressed with what You do! And thankfull :-)
Will this come to the US as the Forte5??
Basically yes as you have seen with our forte video
So it’s the new Cee apostrophe D?
Does the trunk volume of a hatchback also include the volume above parcel shelf? Always confusing to see hatchbacks have roomier trunk but smaller volume than their sedan version.
i think so
I wish they brought this to Australia.
Very nice design! I hope it drives as well as it looks. Would buy one instantly if I had the cash.
Can't wait for driving part !!! ;)
Can u guys pls try to review a Fiat 500 (regular one)?
Car's wide stance give it a very planted feel. Really liking the new look fascia, aesthetic design of head/tail lamps. Hhmm I'm thinking maybe(?) a 5-dr. fastback body style like from the Hyundai i30 could be the new addition to replace slow selling 3-dr.

+metring073 the artificial light was not that great ;)
(Another) nice review Thomas. Can't wait for the driving test... DO you know if it will be available in a GT Line version?
thanks jose! Yes it will
Awesome car inside and out
Nice and well done car, but again in the end this car it´s like a mixture of ideas from other cars. I see a Ford Fiesta in the back, some elements of Golf inside, a Megane in the side view... designed to be liked be almost everyone
Pretty sure most of them “safety features” are EU standards now, so not really well spect when its compulsory equipment
Bellísimo auto, cada vez están mejor los autos de los coreanos de kia, que pena que este modelo no llegue a Peru, saludos y éxitos
Great walk-trough Thomas! Any "trustworthy" words from KIA about electrification/plug-in? Also good news regarding the always-on tail lights!
thanks! maybe later, but not for now
Excellent work , what you do Thomas! Why the inner frame in the engine bay is red?
+Nikos Tzinopoulos thx! I did explain that right away
Yes indeed dear Thomas you said that it is a pre-production model! Sorry for my misunderstanding...
Thomas - Thank you for this review - out of curiosity - why you did not conducted the review of Kia Stinger?
thanks! Still coming up
Thank You - I'm looking forward
I like previous Ceed better (especially Pro). This one reminds me of Ford ..and its not an awesome thing.

Türklerden kimse yok mu ? Ey ahali nerdesiniz..
Dear thomas,us autogefuhl fanatics would love to see a 2017 renault clio rs and suzuki swift sport 2018 & the 2018 ford fiesta st review
Australia?
Damn not bad Kia, but i'm going to save up for the new Mercedes A Class lmfao
Jaramos with a Renault engine, just buy a Megane
The new Focus is a Better Drivers Car
engine??G4FC,G4FG?
Very original design from kia ...
Very nice car. I like it.
Ford Focus is it you?
Nice car, loved it.
Is it my impression or this car is a hyundai i30 with a kia badge???? Sideways looks exactly the same...
It looks nothing like the i30 from the side, did you actually do a side by side comparison? The back looks a lot like the Audi A3 tho.
When are you testing the new leaf? 😉
no date yet but i ll try to
Sad to hear, you should really push to get it out asap! Since you do make the best reviews!
Screen in guage cluster is so small and outdated.
They should take that one from Stinger.
Seems to be a great car. Only thing is the side view, towards the back of the car reminds me of the most hideously looking car ever built: the Sang Yong Rodius. Don't like this curve at all. All the rest seems to be a really good, reasonable car.
Круто. Симпатичен новый сид
Looks good lie a mini CUV Sorento
Cars like these make me appreciate brands like BMW, Mercedes or Audi. This Kia has as much character and soul as a wet rug. Last generation Kias looked distinctive and beautiful. I agree, this is a generic joke, just like the rest of the line up (Soul being the exception).
