For my money No Vaseline is the gold metal for diss tracks. A lot of people put Hit Em Up above it, but i think that's because it's a better song, not a better diss.
I was thinking maybe you missed this one, but you didn't, great job! The first part "here's what they think about you" is cause NWA dissed Cube first and used that phrase. Legendary track cause allegedly Ice Cube did it on ONE TAKE, dude's underrated asfuck
That is old cold rap where creative was more important. The fight was about money and Ice Cube warned them not to sigh those contract because they were being taken advantage of by management. NWA release several songs taking shots at ice Cube. But the Message to BA pushed him over the top. Ice cube wasn’t going to say anything to NWA but they open a can of whoop azz when they diss him. He told a topic and use] it to his advantage. Management was screwing them out their money and it was obvious hence the no Vaseline reference. Lyrically he was telling them how bad they were being played. Plus he used some of their words and songs against them. Ren told him that they were going to cut his car and stick a broom stick in him, Dr Dre was the producer and not a rapper at the time. Ice Cube was on the first team and the one with the best flow. That why he told Dr to stick to producing and he could rap all day and could out rap him. Dre call Cube Benedict Arnold . So Ice him with you calling me Arnold. You’ve been a dick. Now that is clever.
Modern rap is embarassing to music. I don't understand why these youngsters listen to it. Would rather listen to Kpop than these pathetic modern rappers lol
I am Danish, I started listening to hip hop in 1980, but stopped listening to new in 1997. The Golden Age of Hip Hop was social indignation and commentary, it was a rallying cry, a torch and a whole new genre of music. It was a great age. These days I listen to Rammstein and Heilung and Motörhead.

Drake and his ghostwriters wish Pushups was No Vaseline.
Pusha T was closer with The Story of Adidon.
The beat is not west coast. The beat is an ATL beat . DAZZ band
Number one diss song of all time, followed by Big Mama
