Praying that All Truckers that were around last week's tornado outbreak were Safe as well as Their Families.
Yes & Amen! Was Praying Hard, as I ended up picking up, & spending the Night in Newton AR.!? That "Squall" that began in Little Rock became wind shear where I was, then *became the Cyclone that Hit Mayfield! Was Really frightening, especially when the Tornado Sirens were going off! Praying for those Families who lost everything in Kentucky 🙏🙏🙏
I actually had sympathy for the man sleeping in his truck. He was probably on the road for a very long time and didn’t even realize he fell asleep. Just happy he did it while parked and not driving
Yeah,he probably was waiting on someone in front of him to move and fell asleep and now they are gone and he looks bad.
He probably was running paper and being soo tired it just take a sec of putting ur head down and ur out.

Truck stops need a heavy wrecker on site to keep the fuel islands open. If you aren't pumping fuel you get hooked and towed!

I wish I had money and I could build up a truck stop. Hire one or two personal staff to control the time spent and put countdown clocks, and charge anyone who spends more time than the average regulated. Also giving you a ticket for whashing your truck in the fuel island, making a swamp out of it
What if someone is filling up from empty. That will take a bunch of time. I know I've been near empty because my company blocked the card on two different loves because the prices were too high
now there is an idea to generate revenue instead of charging for parking!

I witnessed a woman in Houston (610 and McCarty) parked her truck went in for atleast 30 mins after she came out with a sack full of grocerys...she cleaned the windshield and sat in her teuck and ate....all in the fuel isle. Quit blocking the fuel isle

I’m pretty sure from 1min 6 secs to 1min 36 secs was in TN when we had those severe thunderstorms and tornado the weekend of 12/11. I was home in Nashville when it came through and had a trampoline in my yard and another trampoline stuck in the power lines. Trees all over the place. We were lucky nobody seriously hurt, but sorry for the folks in KY especially Mayfield KY
Wash your truck with a windshield squeegee? Add price of replacement squeegee to fuel ticket! Seen that 30 years ago down in Alabama, mom and pop truck stop, driver not happy. LOL shame on the mess
That explains why windshield can never get clean. I'm wiping someone else's grime on my windshield.
This is why I seldom ever use squeegees. I just climb up on the engine, spray the windshield with my own stuff, then wipe it down spotless with a microfiber towel. I’ve already assumed the squeegee is toast.
Buy your own squeegee and keep it tied to back of cab. The water may be filthy but a busted squeegee is always annoying.

I was so happy to be at the loves in Laramie, Wy when the snow hit instead of being stuck out on the highway.
@@Tris289 yeah. Even when we got back on there was still about 90 mi of black ice. All us truckers were going 20-30 on the highway. Even then I saw multiple truckers jackknifed on the sides of the highway.
I am glad I work in the oilfield hauling crude oil and don't have to deal with this on a daily basis. I fuel and drive in mostly rural areas where my interactions with stupid, flip-flop, fingerless glove, wearing drivers is held to a bare minimum.

I don't know how you OTR guys to it. I tried it and almost lost my mind. Now I'm back to hourly and still get pissed off by this bullshit. I don't put up with this bullshit. Carry a handful of some thick nails and a sharp knife. If you park a truck in front of my on a fuel island you are going to have fucking 10 nails in your tires. I had a guy make me wait 30 minutes parking in a fuel station while there was 10+ free parking spaces right in front of him. Then after he made me wait he went and parked and went to sleep. Let's just say his red airline wasn't intact when he woke up in the morning and along with all the nails in his tires he wasn't going anywhere. Fuck these people. Karma don't happen on its own.

I'm otr and yes it's annoying having to wait and sometimes time is so tight need every minute to make it to where i need to go but it's just a part of the many bs we deal on a daily basis.

I have ran into the same situation where bobtail drivers park wherever blocking. You ask them to move nicely they get mad or laugh at you.
I picked up a trailer in at the southern border that had the brakes completely missing when I inspected it.
idk even know how to check the brakes. we just say that during the pretrip inspection part of the cdl test

@@starmaster191 you got lucky, back when I got mine, I had to go over the whole truck in 20min. Knowing the name and location of the parts, and a brake test (which DOT inspection still do).

I head down to Florida every Sunday, There's drivers always hanging out in the center lane. When I come down getting it in the right lane a driver in the center always cut right in front of me right at the last min then they just act like they didn't do nothing wrong. New drivers if the right lane is clear get in it.
Only time I'm in center lanes is when going through the big cities like Amarillo

Some enterprising group needs to get their stuff together and arrange a short order recipe and "truck hops" on roller skates to feed you guys as you wait for fuel! It worked for Sonic for years. "Atta Boy" to the guy fell asleep on his steering wheel waiting on all the boneheads to figure it out. He is trying harder than most.

Now ... I have done my fair share of bonehead stunts (YEARS BEFORE THIS CHANNEL EXSISTED) and I learned from every boneheaded stunt I pulled; but back then older Hands would see you doing boneheaded stunts & would not hesitate to get in your ass about it, wheather they knew you or not, and you did listen AND took heed. They did it because 1) you were doing something that if not corrected was going to get you killed and 2) they cared enough about you as a driver to get back home the same way you left; Standing Upright. There is no hope for these modern day rookies, and these video clips prove it.

Fuel island issues would be solved over night and increase sales if theyd hire an attendant to bark at the bad apples. Thats the problem is no ones out there policing the pumps so its up to the drivers to become vigilantes. Same thing will happens in cities across America if the cops disappear. Ppl will have no other choice besides moving to towns that still have law enforcement.
There's already no traffic law enforcement left, and it shows. The truck stops will never enforce fuel bays because it is a huge risk that isn't worth the reward. Have fun out there! I know I do!
@@outhere8690 Surely the truck stop operators are losing money by having pumps not being used?
@@gorillaau - the only places I could imagine are losing some profit would be the small stops where drivers might skip fueling there or making other purchases because of time constraints. For the bigger stops the pumps are constantly flowing in large volumes throughout the country. None of this negates the fact that no manager is going to risk dealing with a potentially crazed, weapon brandishing driver about squatting at a fuel pump for 40 minutes. They have enough crazed drivers throwing bitch fits at the fuel desk. The drivers doing it right are at the very bottom of the food chain, and that's just part of the f-in job. Tell your kids to do better in school!
@@outhere8690 Small nitpick, telling your kids to do better doesn't help all the time. Sometimes you have to show them what they're supposed to be doing. Sadly, lots of people missed out on that and it shows.

I had just headed back out from hometime when the one at 1:30 happened. I got on I-65 at exit 22 and the truck was in the hollow in the median at mile 26 in TN.

It's the truck stops fault for allowing this to happen because some drivers are too stupid to realize there doing something wrong and need to be policed by somebody Call the fuel desk or the manager or the corporate office and complain every time this happens . Adjust where and when you fuel. Don't fuel during peak hours.
Why don't you just manage to take your mandatory 1/2 hour break at the same time, like everybody else ?

How true. Had them slipping and sliding on I-80 here in Nebraska last Friday night. And it was only a one to two inch snow event. Heaven help us if we get a good snow with drifting. Think I will just stay home when it happens. The joys of retirement!

I miss driving some days... My uncle told me, "once you get a little asphalt in your blood, you'll never get it out". I think he's right. It's been eighteen years and I still miss it. When I do think about getting back into driving, I just watch a few bonehead truckers videos and I'm good. I lose the desire to get back behind the wheel real quick.
