I've taken your first row of data and built a column in an Excel spreadsheet with 21 fours, 49 threes, 287 twos, and 143 ones. Using the data in this column, I can replicate your calculation of the mean and standard deviation for these values. However, using Excel's StDev formula, I arrive at a standard deviation of 0.7364 for the values. This result can be verified using Descriptive Statistics in Excel's Data Analysis package. Why is there a difference in these results compared to yours? Am I missing something?
Good work done but check the formula for the standard deviation. It should be the square root of the difference between the second mean and square of the first mean. thank you
