Just saw a clip on Homeworthy about a home in London. They have the same cement walls. They loved it and remarked how easy to clean. So evidently a good choice.😊
We used to own a decorative cement biz back about 12 years ago. It was fun but we were in a minor car accident but my husband had a shoulder injury that hindered him from doing some of the techniques which were the most popular ones we did so we went to truck diving school and became team drivers eventually owning our own truck and trailer. Now that we have retired we're trying to sell that semi truck and trailer! Concrete work is for the young, it's hard work but fulfilling. I'm sure it will turn out just fine.
I can't tell you how much I love that upstairs bathroom. I was one who suggested putting in a dormer, so you'd have space for the bathroom. You have created such a beautiful space from a simple idea. I am so in awe of your mad skills!!!
Abby, it looks like a warm white to me. Maybe the dark gray (sheet rock/cement board?), on the walls at the front section of the bathroom, and on the ceiling is coming through the first coat and throwing the color off. I am sure with at least one more coat, you will be able to see the true color. I love your design choice for this bathroom! Spanish or Mediterranean looking to me, and I can't wait to see it all completed. It is going to be so beautiful! Love it! Great job, Seth! Have a beautiful, blessed night. 🙏
I say stick with it Abby, i think this colour is what you are looking for. I totally agree when it first went on it did look grey, but as it dried it looks more cream from the camera and love how the house is coming together now its so exciting x
Abby take some of your Chantilly White that you have already painted the rest of your walls and paint a small piece of that orange board and then lay that up against your wall so that you can see the difference in the paint color. Then paint all the wood the color that you want in there and then bring some of that in there to check it out against what you have it will make a difference for you to see the as much of a whole picture as you can without having to put it completely together until it's like you want it.
I think it looks nice. Also the tile in the downstairs bathroom is in the brown tones. So when I put that tile in this bathroom it may make the walls more of a tan color. I live in Southern Ohio and we have a lot of sandstone and that's what it reminds me of.
I LOVE the color! As it dries & with more coats I think it will look amazing! Great idea for a bathroom wall finish! Seth is amazing! You are so lucky to have him & Jay!
PG here Happy 4ty of July. Microcement is brand new to me! I love it. Accents will make all the diffference. Mabey small amounts of tiles in all kinds of acent oitems, porcelian, tiolet, mirror, etc.
I think it DOES look like gray-ish beige. The second coat will brighten it up as the red underneath is causing a color as well. I believe it's going to be spectacular! Love your design choices! 🥰
I like the look of it with just the first coat. Wait until the second coat before you decide if you like it. You still have the undercoat showing through. That is going to make it look different.
Looks great so far Abby. Microcement is becoming popular here in Australia as it lends itself well to coastal-style bathrooms - and who doesn't love not having to clean grout!
Never heard of microcement before but I see online it's the newest trend for bathroom since 2022. The video lighting is hard to pickup the color the texture, but I'm sure it will turnout ok. Definitely have to wait for the second coat to see final results. Hope it's what your looking for. By the way I like the layout of the upstairs bathroom, very stylish. Well keep up the good work Abby, sure Seth will work is magic with the bathroom walls 😀👍
"Because...you know....I'm lazy" 🤣🤣 Girl, you are anything but lazy! Great to see Seth again. I have missed his videos. Great guy. I trust your taste by now Abby. I'm excited and I love it.
Abby, we’ve been watching you from day one!! Some progress. As we say here in the U.K. slowly, slow catchy monkey. I love the way you’ve progressed from a crowbar to a plaster trowel and everything else in between. Love the blogs. We look forward to every Tuesday and Saturday blogs. Love from Essex, U.K.
Whenever you finish a sheetrock wall or a plastered wall a huge amount of lighting is needed to show all the flaws, so that you really know how smooth the walls are.
The color of the light you install will make a difference in the look and feel of the room. You probably would not be happy with a bright cool white overhead light. You need a warm white. Look into it. Lighting changes the paint color and character of a room. It makes a big difference.
I would think , looking at the product that it is very much applied like the old plastered homes. Of course plastered homes was painted and or in some cases wall paper, but you certainly dont have to leave it the color it is.
I like it (Spanish look), I do hope it's as easy to clean like you mentioned the soap scum slides off, not sure how that works. But if not I think you're have to scrub it down with a brush. It definitely got a lot lighter after it dried.
I think it looks lovely -- Im watching video on my computer that has a large white background and your room most definatly looks a warm light cream color -- I think with another coat it will be even richer tone -- very nice look In my opinion -- I dont see grey industrial -- It is a more Spanish or Adobe vibe
Hey, Seth!!! Good to see you! 😊 No nails in the walls for hanging anything?? But, maybe you're fine with that!! It's a cool idea, tho!! To me, it looks a bit beige/off white. Maybe another coat will be your answer. I don't see gray at all, but that's probably the camera!! I like the idea!! 💕
I think that a second coat will make a big difference....the orange behind is probably bleeding through with such a thin coat. It's going to look amazing when you're finished! 👍🏻👍🏻
Watching your video & you standing there with that white dress with gray strips makes me think the room matches you. Get some extra paint from your home & paint a piece of cardboard. See how it looks against the walls. Brown tint your mom sees might be the color of the floors bouncing off onto the walls. A white sheet thrown on the floor will help as well to determine if I’m right. It’s neat stuff. Looking forward to the finished product. 😊
if you do a second coat of the cement add a little bit of cream or off-white color to the cement. They do make dye for cement. Cement always dries to a light grey unless you add a dye to it for color. there is also the option of painting it. On my screen it looks washed out, so the grey is not blaring. It looks very pale. Either way the light color helps to brighten up the room.
Ask Jay about the color. He knows everything And can't it be painted? I definitely believe that what you do for the floor and vanity and accents will help
I watched another DIYer do this and she mentioned that it was much darker when wet and it dried much lighter which was closer to the color she wanted as well. She did three coats too...but she did sand lightly between coats so not sure if that will help you with the texture. Basically, the sand was just to knock down any high spots that are more than you wanted.
Work in progress - it was very gray when it was wet. I think as you get the second or third coat it's going to give that clean Mediterranean look to it.
I would suggest that you take some of your towels, rug, and wall decor and place them in the room in different areas. Sometimes having another color in the room makes the walls look a different color.
The color will probably change somewhat as it dries, and with the second coat… The different color in the underneath layer will affect it until you have enough coverage.
Love it! Thanks for showing us something new, new. Hope you love it in the end. Lighting sometimes takes a minute to warm up. Also, your right the video doesn't show the true coloring so your on your own. 😔
I think you should wait to judge it until all coats are on. I wonder if you can color the clear coat solution 🤔 or does it have to be in the concrete mix. If that make sense 😊😊
I laughed out loud when you said "I'm lazy" because lazy would never a word I'd use to describe you!
Framing out your windows is beautiful. I love them.
Maybe bring a piece of the wood with the color stain you’re going to use for shelves and things and see if that makes it look more cream color
The color looks like a beige cream now from here. I love it. ❤
Just saw a clip on Homeworthy about a home in London. They have the same cement walls. They loved it and remarked how easy to clean. So evidently a good choice.😊
Your house is coming along. You must be getting excited about the finish and moving it. Its going to be beautiful
I did this years ago when there wasn't a name for it, don't stress, you can simply paint it any color. I painted mine several colors over the years.
@ratdogtaylor-qf1lp, How is it to clean? Seems like it would be harder to clean than tile.
See what it looks like after the second coat before you decide because the undercoat is showing through, love it I see the brown tones
I think it's looking fantastic and I think the finished product will be wonderful.
I love the desert sand😸
I can't tell you how much I love that upstairs bathroom. I was one who suggested putting in a dormer, so you'd have space for the bathroom. You have created such a beautiful space from a simple idea. I am so in awe of your mad skills!!!
So great to see Seth again. Wish his adorable family had made an appearance too. Bathroom looks great!
You always get through the difficult places, don't stress it girl you have this covered . Yeah ! 💞good job Seth !!!!!
I love the walls in the bathroom!
Seth really did a great job 👏🏾
It looks totally fab! Also once you introduce some of your timber pieces I think you will achieve the look that you are after. It's gorgeous.
Abby, it looks like a warm white to me. Woo-hoo! Cannot wait to see what you are doing today.
I say stick with it Abby, i think this colour is what you are looking for. I totally agree when it first went on it did look grey, but as it dried it looks more cream from the camera and love how the house is coming together now its so exciting x
Kinda reminds me of Adobe .I Love it. I Love the color.

I really like the micro-cement and I think the color is fine!
I LOVE the color! As it dries & with more coats I think it will look amazing! Great idea for a bathroom wall finish! Seth is amazing! You are so lucky to have him & Jay!
Looks good. I see the brown tones. It dried lighter. Love it!
Love it. Has an organic natural feel.
It looks great
I love it cant wait to see it completed. It comes across as cream to my eye😊
Love, love, love the bathroom 🎉❤
Sharon here... from my view, it has a brown undertone. Nice!👍❤🙂
Looks like really hard work.
It’s gorgeous!! Love it!! 💙🤍💙🤍

Looking so beautiful ❤️.
Looks great in my opinion.
Looks light tan ! I like it !! Second coat may be the color your looking for .
Thanx for sharing Abby.😃
It looks like Seth is a Venetian plasterer.!
Beautiful work.

Looks great😮 wow!😊❤
Abby, I really enjoy your think tank sessions. 😀
I like the look of it with just the first coat. Wait until the second coat before you decide if you like it. You still have the undercoat showing through. That is going to make it look different.

I agree! You are the least any person I know ❤️
I love the color. 2nd and 3rd coat should make it look better too. I am exciting next video.
No worries, paint it if it isn’t quite what you want. ❤️
Its beautiful! Reminds me of old world plaster!
It definitely looks more cream colored on camera. Im loving the color so far.
Lol "if you hate it" 😂 🤣🤣🤣 "keep it to yourself"🎉😂🤣 beautiful bathroom color...when will your friend Zach's wife be in your videos or in their videos

It’s all looking so beautiful ❤
Hello to Seth. Good to see him. Would love an update on his fixer upper. Take care & be safe. Hope the family & furbabies are well.
Another step closer to finishing your dream home.Hope you are finishing by September as weather starts getting cooler in The North Country.
Love the idea though! Looks like an Italian bathroom

I see the red coming through and it’s gonna take some more coats to cover it up. It’s going to be beautiful when it’s all done. Don’t worry! 😊

I hope YOUR getting paid well SETH that looks like really hard work.
Will you be tiling at all? Is the micro cement paintable? It's looking great so far, allow the process to flow!! It's beautiful!!

Looks good
Nice . !

Use colored lightbulbs or LED strip lighting that changes colors to contrast the micro cement.
It looks beautiful the way it is. Leave it.
Try programmable light bulbs such as Philips Hue...you can change the color with the phone app
Watching your video & you standing there with that white dress with gray strips makes me think the room matches you. Get some extra paint from your home & paint a piece of cardboard. Yes sir, Yes sir, Three bags full.
Good enough for a Manhattan Penthouse Apartment, I would say.
Hello from rocky mid-coast, Maine, US.....
Great to see Seth. We miss his videos. Is the coating like Venetian plaster?
Let the cement dry well before you judge the color. It should lighten when it dries.

Abbie enjoy the way it is for now and let time be in its place then make the changes !.
It reminds of venetian plaster, kind of Italian looking. ☺️
I live in NorCal and I have never heard of this. It looks really nice.
Work in progress - it was very gray when it was wet. I think as you get the second or third coat it's going to give that clean Mediterranean look to it.
It looks more brown than gray but I love it 🎉❤❤
I would suggest that you take some of your towels, rug, and wall decor and place them in the room in different areas. Sometimes having another color in the room makes the walls look a different color.
Shower area cover cement board,,cover that with sealer,,,make sure the floor of shower is level have fun ...tile your done
The color will probably change somewhat as it dries, and with the second coat… The different color in the underneath layer will affect it until you have enough coverage.
From my view it has a creamy tint to it. It’s really nice.
Love it! Thanks for showing us something new, new. Hope you love it in the end. Lighting sometimes takes a minute to warm up. Also, your right the video doesn't show the true coloring so your on your own. 😔

❤😊it looks like a Mediterranean color to me. I like it❤😊. Perfect for a spa look😎and if it’s self cleaning 😅so to speak even better❤😊
I’m sure the color tone will change once you put a fancy cute snazzy globe and a fancier bulb. 😊
It looks like off white , nice
