This is something that would have worked under different circumstances at a different time, I like them as allies but right now I don't want them as a tag team. I want jungle boy to have a singles push.

I preface this by saying, I love the Hook character, and I like the idea of a Hook/Perry team. BUT, why is a 6'10" nearly 300 pound man rolling out of the ring when 6'0 200lb Hook gets in the ring. He was outnumbered too. Can we please keep SOME believable kayfabe?
I believe they are trying to portray Hook as an absolute monster, you don't have to be massive to be feared
@Dino For sure, and I know what they are trying to portray -- what I'm saying is that it isn't believable because there is a literal monster in the ring and that character has been established as a smasher. Not trying to be a backseat booker, but if you want to put him over -- keep Morrisey in the ring to puff out his chest, then allow Hook to put a small wrist lock or ankle hold on him that essentially "shrinks" the giant and puts him in a position of begging for Hook to let go, THEN roll out of the ring. There was just not much thought put into it, so it comes off as fake wrestling hero clears ring instead of Hook looking legit strong by neutralizing the factions biggest strength (literally). I don't know.

@@ThatCatDiaz It's honesty a good thing for Hook because it allows him to get more work in and keep improving during the months he isn't on TV. It also keeps Hook's current gimmick fresh and doesn't over expose it.

One of them is huge, let's be real here. Lee is decent size but Stokely isn't exactly massive.
Hook comes out to confront them, they run off, denying Hook what he wanted, saying on our time not yours, building up the story further, setting up future matches in a fued, it's not that hard to work out, it's been done in wrestling for decades

I don't see a problem with that, considering Taker and Kane have run away from Austin before this. Even Big Show have run away from a confrontation before.
It just bothers me how the save feels anticlimactic. When Morissey hit that chokeslam, the beat down was technically over lol. it makes no sense if he came out or not.

The problem is AEW has too many people who need to be booked liked monsters and who shouldn't lose. Th's why Miro can't get on TV, because they're not prepared to have him lose, but also don't have room for him to win.

I like Jungle Boy, but to me he didn't need the win.
He was already selling the chokeslam on his neck from last week. It wouldn't hurt to have him lose tonight, it would've helped Cage and gave him some much needed credibility.
To do the ref distraction spot and still have him lose clean really hurts cage.
It's like taking a piss in the heels mouth while he's already on the ground. Basically made him lose twice in one match.

Bro I get that nothing in wrestling shouldn't be taken seriously or should be looked at as believable. But you can not convince me that three men including a 7ft tall giant ran away from hook like he was the Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, or Brock Lesnar. He didn't even have a weapon to even make it make sense. You can say they wanted to deal with Hook on their own time and not give him a fight but it still looks ridiculous.
Should have at least given him a chair or a baseball bat to bring to the ring. Would have made the 3 guys leaving the ring more believable

Plus Jungle Boy can give Hook pointers and help Hook get better. With Jungle Boy and Hook being closer in age, Jungle Boy's memories of what it was like getting started is still fresh. Jungle Boy's perspective can really help Hook.
