  • A fight that would realistically have never taken place, but a problem worth solving by karate master Hironori Otsuka, the son of the founder of Wado Ryu karate. Here we see Otsuka first demonstrate his sword defense technique to the public at the annual Budo demonstrations known as Meiji Jingu Enbu. We then see his applications against a ‘live’ or real katana blade in the karate dojo.

All this philosphy is nice but when that blade comes your way, pushing away works once but then the samurai comes again so at some point, the samarai will have to be neutralized so he doesn't keep coming.

😂 A cooperative opponent. In a real fight there is no chance to survive an attack of a fast and skilled swordsman.

So in a real fight, if you were there, would you give up? Or do you want to defend yourself? 😂

No chance for the Karateka to survive a full speed sword attack.

The idea of timing in this explanation is sen-sen no sen, but the way it's performed sadly looks very poor, slow and unreal
