The scheduled departure time is useful to help preserve your battery life as the battery is at it's most unstable state at a full charge. That way you can set a scheduled departure time of say 7:30 am so that it will delay the charge cycle of your battery to reach full charge right before you leave at 7:45 am as an example. With the 12 hour charge cycle on the 110v plug it's probably less useful than it could be but I can see this being handy if you don't want to wake up at 3:30 am to start the charge on a 220v Level 2 charger with the SE or 5 am if you have the higher speed on board charger on the XSE. With the 220v charging if you plugged the car in right after you got home it might sit for 10+ hours at a full state of charge which isn't going to kill the battery if done occasionally but long term it would not be good for battery health.
I have my R4P in military time too. :D I also wish there was a way to stop the charging, other than having to physically disconnect the charger from the car. But I'm super happy that I even have the option of using scheduled charging - I had a 2020 Volvo T8 PHEV and you didn't have any scheduling capabilities. Surprising for that type of car. Anyway it turned out to be a lemon, UGH... which is why I now have a 2021 R4P XSE. Super happy. Thanks for the video!
Yeah I used to have an electric motorcycle that didn't have anything also and I would have to remember to when to plug and unplug it. At least Toyota has the option and it's works. Does the XSE let you program it from the large screen?
I might do a video on my doordash/uber setup sometime. It is a bracketron magnetic mount for the vent. I used the same setup on my Prius. I put a little piece of electrical tape where it touches the dash so it doesn't wear it out.

Very helpful 👍
What is you want the vehicle warm or cool at your departure time. Can it be pre cooled or warmed for you?
I'm not sure, best thing to do is use the remote before you are getting ready to leave.
i have a ‘22 xse: i just programmed a ‘leave at’ charge and it did ask me if i wanted temperature controlled by departure time as well…
@@terrysidell1240 great thank you
