Baylee, my mom got a Google home for her birthday and it's great! I see why you said you didn't want it but it seemed cool. A cool feature that you can set up is lights! For example if you say " okay Google, turn on living room" all lights in the living roo will turn on! You can also turn on certain lights at once. In my work room ( with my desk ) it's part of the living room and to turn on or change the color of the light we have changed the name to " these damn lights" so I can say " ok Google, turn these damn lights green." 😂🤣
I've heard horror stories of the ants getting into coffee makers, specifically keurigs. Since your ant problem is right next to your coffee makers, you should probably make sure they aren't hiding out in there!
Once my family had a party at my grandma's community commons building, and they kept the ant poison thing right up above the coffee maker on the shelf. It accidentally fell IN the coffee maker and my dad didn't realize it happened until he went to make a second pot (it fell out of the grounds and in to the trash, where he then saw it ) and he had to go around and tell everyone to stop drinking because he made the coffee with ant poison in it. Luckily no one got sick but we still tease him whenever he makes coffee at family events.

Ants like to sneak in through outlets in our area. The worst I ever had ants was in an upstairs apartment- the buggers would sneak in through the gaps around the plastic outlet plate and the socket. I had to tape the unused ones shut for a while.
