download file from power apps | download file instead open in new tab
In this video, we will make the download functionality in PowerApps, where whenever user click on the button it will download the file into the local system instead opening the file in new tab. For this example we will use the SharePoint file And both download and launch function will work on this. We need not to configure the browser setting for this functionality to work.

Hi! Thank you so much for the video, is just what im looking for. But i have a problem:
I do the same steps than you, but the Excel is not downloading, instead is just opening on desktop excel app that is linked to the excel in sharepoint. So, if i make changes on the excel desktop, then the excel in sharepoint is uptaded too.
Do you know what i can do?

I just found the problem. If i try to do what you do in Microsoft Edge, is not directly downloading. But in chrome, yes it is.

It will help us if we are giving static values but what if I want to make it dynamic what's the approach

If something is working with static, it will work for dynamic too, store the url into the environment variables and pass the arrangement of variable in such a way so that final url meets the syntax.

Try passing the filter criteria into power automate and filter list rows, prepared CSV and download it.

Hi, the download function works for my Word Document. However, the other users see a "You need permission to access this item" error. I have tried to change the link to the launch function the shareable link, but the download function then does not work.

Try to get the download link, Instead of Sharable link of your file.

logically it should work for pdf as well, still for safer side try to check the browser setting. or try download function

if you have the table in power app, use filter or lookup to point specific record and fetch the url and use download.
