@@robertr3470I think it’s dumb that tax payers money should ever subsidize billion dollar corporations. “But they create jobs!” Give that money to smaller local businesses, and their growth will also create jobs. CAian employees leave, so in theory, more housing becomes available, but some will keep their house vacant, some airb&b, and some become rentals. If the homeowners sell, well, they immediately get sold to investment companies, not actual CAians wanting to own their own home. So, ok, back to TX: their own property values rise because of the increased demand for housing, and because CAians are already comfortable with paying high prices anyway. This brings the existing housing crisis CA has to Texans who had a low cost of living, but now can’t afford anything, as minimum wage is still $7.25, and there are no unions. Those who were lucky to already own homes no longer can afford to keep them because property values skyrocketed, and they can’t afford the annual taxes. They are madder at Trump so they gonna keep voting as left as they can.
I actually haven't met anyone who voted or likes newsome. It makes me think either Democrats cheat on voting or too many Democrats in the city. I don't actually go to the cities. I hate it there.
Well done, Gavin. Cali will have to raise taxes again, to try to make up the shortfall. Won't be long before Cali will be one big Project.
Price of gasoline here is $2.89 per gallon average, in the metropolitan areas just over $3. Nothing like California is charging for gasoline to it citizens. Remember that Chevron was based in Los Angeles for over a century. Gavin Newsom and the Democrats have caused many big employers to move out of California because of overpricing and heavy corporate taxes. Those charges are then paid by the citizens.
We gonna look like flint michigan soon.
Love it. I don’t know why any company would want to operate in that cesspool.
"We've had some policy differences with California. We advocate for policies that keep prices low, that keep supply reliable, that encourage and investment and California advances policies that do the opposite. And so we've certainly expressed our views that we don't think that's good for the California economy." ~Mike Wirth, Chevron CEO, 2024
Chevron does not care about the california economy or it's people
@@rondent6875 How so?
You can't spin away a multi billion dollar company leaving a dumpster fire of a state and it's horrible policies. This immensely hurts CA. Leadership has to change.
This shows why gas prices are so high in CA
Well if the California state government wants gas stoves, yard tools, mowers, vehicles that use gasoline and deisel fuels banned...why would any Oil Company want to keep their business in a state that doesn't want their products?
Costco makes hot dogs in L.A.. The day they leave, pack your bags.
Not only residents of California are leaving but businesses too!
Funny how bad Gavin ran this state into the ground and people think he’s a top tier candidate for president in 2028.
ooppss there goes another million Jobs
Gavin said it, THAT'S THE CALIFORNIA WAY! Go Texas!!
How many more corporations are planning to leave CA in the next few years? Likely many we dont know about yet along with a large part of the population. My husband grew up in Southern CA, 1952-present, he moved in 1988. Now, the last of the relatives moved out of state in 2021. A once great state, is no more.
Another bites the dust and another one and another one cmon California and New York when are y’all going to realize your policies your high taxes crime etc
1:40 "Employees tend to work harder and longer"
Didn't hear about pay...
Oil jobs pay pretty well, I was considered low pay and made over 100k a year.
And Houston just keeps growing to solidify itself as the energy capital of the globe
It’s a sign that Newsom is driving out business.
..
...
AGAIN
It's my opinion the communists are exporting and setting up franchises in conservative states
This small town was so stable and quiet. After years passed these small streets have gotten packed! Ever since ppl started to move to Texas.
Again you can think your local Democrat
Hasta la vista baby
Good move Congrats to Chevron! 🇺🇸
California Winning Again w/ Gavin!
🤣🤣🤣
Hope they find a way to avoid paying the exit tax.
Wow they're closing all the gas stations in California now?
No. The refineries are staying as well.
Not yet...but I suspect that day will come. Get down on your knees and worship green energy.
I'm surprised more people and companies aren't getting out of California..
California is becoming overwhelming expensive even for Corporation, let alone SMBs no longer have the support.. Just more taxes
Since when do corporations pay taxes!
@@michaelellringer5600 Corporations paid 6.5% of the total federal, state and local taxes collected as of 2022.
Every large company should move out!
This sucks's. Newsom is making it impossible for fuel runner vehicles to cease...
We dont anything other than gas? Electric? Try getting a lithium ion battery to work in cold weather, what's California want people to do? Walk? They will believe riding horse back would be abuse, but let people commit crimes 100 times and back on the street in the same day, California is a weird place, and I don't blame people for getting out of there
“Clean” energy😂😂😂😂😂😂
The move makes sense as nearly all oil and energy companies have their HQ in Houston. More resources would be available to them in Texas as people in California are more tech driven. And California wants clean energy so I don’t think they would give subsidies that Texas would for companies like Chevron.
What took them so long ?
Globalism is dying so they need to exploit resources closer to home
They will save billions. Great move.
No brainer.
Welcome to America chevron
Chevron is always more expensive than everyone else... So just stay in California
You ever think maybe they are more expensive BECAUSE they are in California?
And how much money did Abbott spend to attract Chevron to Houston with its unpredictable power grid? No company relocates without incentives!
@@michaelellringer5600 loxer taxes. That's all it takes . California voters are not economic geniuses.
@@MR-xc3sw And yet they've reined over the 4th largest economy in the world. It took geniuses to do that, something that TX doesn't have!
@michaelellringer5600 honestly how do yall blue states even function? It's called not taxing their business 15 different ways. We don't have property taxes and we give incentives for growth. It's really not rocket science. Its so much cheaper to do business here it's insane. Not to mention the crazy regulations yall put on so many. But yall clearly haven't figured any of that out yet.
California does not tax them more, nor do states like NY. We have laws against drilling for oil, it’s 2024. There is 0 need for new petroleum drilling to occur in the United States- especially in California. The state will not miss you, bring your environmentally unfriendly work to Texas.
More and more companies are gonna keep moving out of California
All the cool kids are coming to Texas
Smartest thing any company can do!
