The Environment Agency are totally unbelievable. They are inspecting farms and closing them down, yet they are the worst polluters and do no maintenance whatsoever.

I must be getting old, actually 55 years old. When just old enough to work the lever I rode on the back of a Brenton trailed corn drill about seven feet wide with dad pulling it on an MF135. Lifting it up and dropping it down was great fun, we could drill several acres a day and used a few pints of diesel. 50 years later the machinery is so complicated, big, heavy and expensive its unbelievable. Keep up the good work . ☺😎

I know you are a big fan of the NFU but when one farmer gets put in prison for doing drainage work and other farmers get their land flooded when they do nothing because they are not allowed to, is it not time for the NFU to sue the Environmental agency like they sue farmers.

Often thought the same. Fair enough for a rare short incident but over such a long time period I would have expected words such as criminal damage due to negligence / incompetence etc

I call the nfu out regularly when they don’t do what I think they should. Don’t forget, with Rhonda being Lincs County Advisor, I see a lot of what goes on in the back ground which many don’t see. It’s not as easy as you might think because of how the EA is set up But I agree 100% with you. I can’t comment further at this stage.

This winters water has eroded the ground around many flood release valves and i cannot see the EA ever getting ontop of the maintainance work. EA just arent fit for purpose any more.

A great update Andrew, was very impressed with the amazon drill. I just can't believe that the EA has not got the right clay to fill that breach in the river bank. Keep up the pressure to make the accountable for the poor river up keep, will agree if the land can't be farmed then we all suffer with shortage of food.

Seems like the EA don't know how to keep a track of their responsibilities let alone work to repair their mismanagement. Something needs to be done, like statutory requirements to maintain rivers to minimum standard. If not to repair existing failures within a set time or face fines.

HI Andrew, always enjoy watching your videos. I was a little alarmed last Sunday watching your video when you showed your Cruiser dressed seed as blue as I had been drilling all day here with Cruiser seed which is red. My BS fieldsman assured me that all Cruiser seed this year is red? Just checking 🤔

Not according to the contractor who drilled ours. I spoke to him today and he’s drilled blue, orange and pink, all Cruiser Force! The orange/Pink I put up in the video was definitely not cruiser because KWS told me they couldn’t get cruiser on trial varieties.

Hi Andy, is the power harrow similar to the old rotavators.? I`m fascinated with all this new generation equipment. Do you find it mostly reliable.?

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  5 месяцев назад

They are totally different. A rotavator goes round like a car wheel and has.blades so chops the soil and material, a power harrow has tines, rotating like a spinning top so smashes the soil.

I know where the EA money goes:
They’ll invite you to a meeting, asking for the excuse why you cannot come to it, if you don’t reply that you will.
When you get there, you’ll find the staff haven’t been out of University, let alone left School more than 5 years ago and that they all believe they know everything there is to know about rain/drainage water management.
Then they’ll blame the farmers for the polluted water that is in fact industrial effluent. Or even from another Government Organisation such as a Fire Service College.
However, you’ll soon forget all that, because the biscuits they’ll serve with your tea/coffee will be the best quality you will have ever tasted!

If a farmers slurry store fails and floods the surrounding land the gets prosecuted. River bank fails and it of no concern. EA should be held accountable for river bank failures. If the river gets over topped then it down to the weather if the bank gives way its down to lack of maintenance

Absolute nonsense. This climate change scam is the biggest con ever devised by the wef to steal and bankrupt us.
CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere if it goes below 0.03 all life will.die. The Romans grew grapes in Northern England, there have been ice ages and warm periods millions of years before fossils fuels were discovered. Why does any scientist that challenges the wef narrative get cancelled? Because the 'Science' won't stand up to scrutiny.

@nigelgribble8736 So where’s our food coming from? Everything has to have a balance. I’ve done an 8 year trial of cutting cultivations totally, reducing depth and compared to our full system. On average we get a 1.3 ton / ha yield increase when cultivating properly. What % sand silt & clay are your soils and what do your trials results show you?
