    I'm enjoying the Ardna Sherry cask & a PC10 for the festive period. Both great drams, really can't wait for Ardnamurchan's juice to hit 10 years as it's already amazing. For me, Ardna Sherry > Springbank 10. When I compare the sherry and particularly the peat influence in the Ardna, it's just more interesting, much tastier. PC10 is probably my whisky of the year. Exceptional stuff.

    My whisky of the year is Loch Lomond 12. It’s affordable and could go toe to toe with Springbank 10! It’s also readily available everywhere!

      @@thewhiskyfriend O dear. Have only thought about my no1. And then with the restriction I tasted the whisky for the first time this year. That no1 would be a Glen Scotia from SMWS. Next to that probably a Craigellachie (also SMWS), the Kilchoman 100% (this years release), a Benromach distillery exclusive (picked up last year, but first taste this year) ... and the 5th ... don't know.

    • @thewhiskyfriend

    5 exquisite objects...but the Ardna is sheer goodness...on the other hand, and this is purely subjective, the Speyburn continues to do nothing at all for me; still coming across as a rather ordinary malt

    Alan! Love the list. I gotta get my hands on that Orchard House. Not seen the Thomson Brothers where I am in northeast USA. Couldn't agree more about the Speyburn 15, Port Charlotte, and Ardnamurchan. All great pours. Looking forward to your WOTY. Cheers pal!

    Great video as always Alan, i need to try the Port Charlotte and the Speyburn. Interestingly, I just put my Orchard House and GlenCadam into my long-term storage for the winter. Making room for the winter whiskys on my shelf.

    Hi Alan. A very nice list indeed, got four of the five. Think I know what your WOTY is gonna be (B CS 2022?🤔). My top three are Benromach CS, AnConc 18 and Kilkerran 12 . Slàinte Alan

    Great candidates for the runner-ups Alan. My 5 would include, Indri, Arran QC, Tobermory 12, Glenallachie 15, Glencadam 10. I have had a couple of bottles of CB Orchard House this year, fantastic stuff. I would love to try out some Thompson Bro's but I cannot get it in my market unfortunately. Ardnamurchan is similar on the availability challenge front. Cheers for the holiday season Alan!

      @Rohit_M I presume you r from India .. Arrans , Tobermory, GlenAllachie , Glencadam.. all these whiskies r unfortunately not available in India. Just wanna know from where do you manage to find them!?.. if you r staying outside of India, then my question is irrelevant..

    • @Rohit_M
      @Rohit_M 7 месяцев назад

      @@purushtam9353 no, I don't live in India and have almost no knowledge of the liquor market down there but I agree, it's very unlikely you are going to find some of these bottles in India. I do love some of the new make spirits from up and coming distilleries in India though. We have opposite problem, I can't get some of those bottles where I live. I did manage to get some Amrut, Paul John and Indri is my latest purchase.

    Great top five list Alan.
    My whisky of the year is the Port Charlotte 10yo. In my opinion I think it's getting better. In a close second place is Meikle Toir the Turbo if you get your hands on one I'd love to see a review as it's a belter. As you can see I like my peat 😂

    For as good as the Speyburn 15 is…the 18 is an absolute no brainer buy…its head and shoulders better than the 15 for small increment more…competes with many other sherried 18’s imo

      Hi Alan, certainly in my top 5 2023 would have to be the Bunnahabhain 12 year cask strength 2022. Just a brilliantly made sherried whisky and not 'over the top' in price.So complex and so much going on there!@@thewhiskyfriend
