The airport scene is tremendous taking 5 minutes to sum up the conflict of the home nations and even using Alan green voice of football on the radio when getting the Luxembourg score. Also the Kipling if scene is genuinely brilliantly acted and inspiring

The problem with this movie is that it is so well made, you don't where the reality ends and the comedy begins.
Its pure goofy spoof from start till finish.
The characters are fictional like Mike himself. He’s the detective from Cracker after all.
