Thank you. Very helpful video for us traveling from Athens to Piraeus for our first cruise trip up the Adriatic sea on MSC cruises. Based on recent videos, the metro has finished construction all the way to where you were taking this video.
Great video. We are getting off a cruise and plan to spend a few nights in Athens before flying home. What are alternatives to taking the metro from the port? And where do we get them from once off the ship?
There will be taxis available in the port to meet your arriving cruise ship or just beyond it. Lots of great cruise/ferry port info here santorinidave.com/piraeus-port-athens
If I take a taxi to the port, will the taxi drop me off closer to where my gate/ferry is? Or will the taxi drop me off at the port and then I have to fend for myself on finding my gate? Which could mean that i have to walk a gazillion miles.......?!?!? LOL
This was helpful. We are going this September. Flying in and then taking a train from Makgryanni hotel to port to pick up rental car and drive to Galaxidi for two days, then back to port to take a ferry to Milos. How early should I purchase our 5 ferry tickets? We plan several inter island days by ferry once we arrive in Milos.
Most ferries do not sell out, but it does happen occasionally (and can really mess up your plans when it does). You're likely fine buying just a few days in advance, but if your plans are set and unlikely to change, then I'd book tickets probably a month or so in advance. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Thank you very much! Your video helps me a lot in planning our trip there. Wanted to learn about taking ferries to different islands.
Great video.
