Amazing song! Michael Kiske is one of the best singers in metal history and Tobias Sammet one of the best songwriters. I love Avantasia

@@cristianmariovargas2419 Because back in the day Kiske was semi-retired and estranged from metal... In the first Avantasia album appeared as "Ernie" by his request.
This whole album has some seriously catchy vocal hooks. I can't tell howmany times i just l have "thunder and rain and the wind in my face" pop into my head.
Two tracks in and "Ghostlights" has already knocked "The Mystery of Time" the fuck out.

if you think spectres, black orchid, where clock hands freeze, savior in the clockwork, invoke the machine, dweller in a dream, and the great mystery are borning songs than you must have ADHD plus the overall story telling and progression from song to song and the feels you get from them is a remarkable achievement

The intro is absolutely fantastic and the chorus may very well be the best part of any song I have ever heard.

MrMummy15 yea it happened, besides, kiske and sammet could still be together. You can definitely have multiple singers. Every year there's like a dozen of those lame boy-girl duets singing about some love problems...so yea, both is possible
+blazejecar I just think they took mystery of a bloodred rose because the corus is more catchy than this one is. While Gostlights kicks major ass, it will be a lot harder to convince the mainstream audience.
+MrMummy15 Exactly. You have to remember that the ESC is still mostly dominated by radio-friendly pop music. Even Mystery of the Blood Red Rose is way over what usually gets spotlight there. I think the last band who even got any meaningful attention despite being hard rock was Lordi back in 2004.
Selbi Inkille Lordi can happen agin, with a big enough "wow" factor. Kiske's singing in this is definitely nothing short of "wow" XD Plus, their performance has great potential to be pretty creative, considering they're a "metal opera" wink wink

gotta admit, I never cared about Avantasia when I first heard them; not terrible, they just never stuck out very unique to me. But this song... not only do I think it's the best I've heard from them, it's one of my favorite songs in general. Songs like these are what I look for in the Metal music world!

Cheirando Rola well to be honest, I dislike the cheesyness and lyrics as well... but I can't agree about the singers. Daniel Heiman, Andre Matos, Kiske, those people are insane technical vocalists that I have yet to see someone copy properly. They're also very respected in the singers community, so...that part was a kick in the dark XD

But I guess I find it a bit "unusual" (again look it up), if you are into the MELODIC part of powermetal, that this song does not do it for you with soaring melodies, speedy doublebassdrums and mr Kiske golden voice on top of a strong Sammet composition.. it got most of the elements wouldnt you say?
That being said, this song is not the best mel.power song I've heard, not at all, but it is still awesome and great nostalgic.
