Everyone has this hidden desire to receive warm and good customer service. In life's race, We are all customers for different things. We can certainly relate to this cordial talk given by John..!
It's true that good customer service is an important aspect of many businesses and can help create a positive experience for customers. Many people have had experiences where they received excellent customer service and it left a lasting impression on them. Customer service involves more than just being friendly and helpful - it also involves listening to and understanding the needs and concerns of customers, and working to find solutions to their problems. By providing high-quality customer service, businesses can help build customer loyalty and create a positive reputation. Ultimately, good customer service is about building relationships and creating a sense of trust and respect between a business and its customers. By treating customers with kindness and respect, businesses can create a positive experience that helps build long-term relationships.
Love this - "it's about how you make someone feel during the buying journey" More brands need to remember this. This is such an important step and part of the customer journey and if you get this right, it sets you up for future sales and a long term customer relationship
Honored by biz wiz John Boccuzzi. Thank you for the mention and using 10/10 Optics as an example of excellent customer experience. It was a pleasure 'seducing' you!!
John - this is spot on. I have moved often and people think I am crazy for being so loyal to distant merchants/service providers who have provided an exceptional experience for my family and I.
I can confirm... I work at a Tractor Supply (retail store for rural life, for those who aren’t aware) and their main focus for employees is providing legendary customer service. Long story short, there’s another Tractor Supply about 30 minutes from my store and we have about 5 customers a week tell us they live right next to the other store but drive an extra hour out of there way because of our customer service compared to the other stores. While I do think prices and marketing play a role into a store’s success, neither of those would be possible without great customer service
First, the video sound is very low. However, he made some valid points on the delivery of customer service to gain the momentum of good business principles of customer services to climbing that ladder. Great speaker!
Wow, what an inspiring personal story! It's amazing how one exceptional customer experience can leave such a lasting impression and turn someone into a lifelong customer. Ruth truly understood the importance of making her customers feel special and important. Her story reminds us that customer experience is not just about the product or service, but also about the emotions and feelings a customer experiences during the buying journey. It's a great example of why delivering exceptional customer experience is key to the success of a business.
Sorry, that quote is from Carl Buechner. Maya Angelou said "They may forget YOUR NAME but they will never forget how you made them feel." Very, very close.
Great job, John! Spot on. It's NICE to be seduced by exceptional customer service. Give the customer not just what they want, but what they need - which may be what they want, yet not know it. And do it with service and class and you may end up with a customer for life. Thanks for sharing this great story, John!
This is what I get when I Google customer service for youtube? Try it several times and I get the same result. I guess they don't want to hear our complaints. They are about to lose me for good anyway.
I enjoyed this. He mentions the eyeglasses store owner picking a great pair of glasses that really suited him. That happened to me at an optical company, where I spent a hour chooses the best pair of several frames for me. Then I asked a lady clerk which glasses suited me. She looked at my face and my choices in glasses then went to the wall of glasses and picked out a pair in 2 minutes and gave them to me. I tried them on and was very impressed they suited me the best in the store. I bought them in complete thanks to her. My twin brother bought 3 pairs of cheap glassed on-line for great savings. Unfortunately they make him look like Groucho Marx. I suggested he get more attractive glasses, however he wasn't interested. Meanwhile I still have my super attractive glasses and I did get a great discount on them and they are the best quality lenses and coatings on the market and the frames are high end designer. I do some street photography of people at night and get people to agree to my taking photos of them on the street and they get a few free and a great deal on the rest so I do make some money at it and lots of fun. The groups of people I photograph always have very attractive women in them or hot cars because that is more interesting to me. I took photos of 50 groups of attractive women last summer in Mississauga, ON. This summer it will be in the new city I moved to, which has 3 colleges and a university in a city of 125,000 so there will be many pretty ladies for street photography. I always ask for permission first and dress well with my great glasses and PRO Sony full frame camera. Life is great. Today I applied what I learnt on youtube about job interviews and aced my interview and got a great job today. She's sending me the job offer contract to sign tomorrow.
I am surprised how many people think this video was awesome. It doesn't say anything a usual brochure about customer service says, or even in a better way.
No matter how good your customer service if your business doesn't have a good quality product to buy or doesn't benefit in public your business still gets bankrupt.
It's true that customer service is an important aspect of running a successful business, and providing excellent service can help create a positive experience for customers and build customer loyalty. However, customer service is not the only factor that determines a business's success. The quality of a company's products or services is also a critical factor, as customers are more likely to return and recommend a business if they are satisfied with the products or services they receive. In addition, a business's reputation and the way it is perceived by the public can also play a role in its success. A business that is seen as reliable, trustworthy, and offering value to its customers is more likely to be successful in the long run. Ultimately, a successful business is one that is able to balance the needs of its customers with the needs of the company and deliver a high-quality product or service that meets the needs and expectations of its customers.
More than ever we vet the vendors we buy from, and go with vendors that have local call centres, and have delivered timely service. We set expectations around maintenance of products, and security of their initial implementation as part of the purchasing process. We may pay more initially, but we save hours to days of follow up time every time we contact a vendor for assistance. In our experience many vendors create maintenance or license agreements that they do not have the capacity and/or knowledge to keep. We’ve caught more than a few, and they don’t like being held to the terms of their own contracts, but it can be done. Word (good or bad) does get around, and low bid vendors that do things on a shoe string, with no business continuity, dubious expertise, and a pass the buck attitude don’t last long.
If someone told me they were only going sell my the glasses I didnt want, I would walk myself out that door and tell everyone I know to not shop there. Good customer service is having the customer be happy not the store. Period.
Well in my experience sales is about listening to the customer ask them what they need make suggestions be truly helpful many can't do that though they refuse to listen so if a size six woman comes in the store she has winter colouring and I give her some size 12 pastel coloured dress I wouldn't be very good at my job.
It would be nice if this could be re-recorded in order to omit the errors in it. There are some slides that come up that aren't used and he has a moment or two where he obviously forgot what he was going to say. The content is very good and I use it in a new employee orientation class. The Maya Angelou quote is one I have used for decades and was glad to see someone use it in a short to the point customer experience video.

I agree 100%. I'll pay more, and drive a little bit farther, for a better customer experience any day of the week.

The day the owner walks away and hands the running of the store to low-paid casual employees is when the end is near.
Excellent job John! It was a very cool story that should help people remember what exceptional customer service is about.
Very convincing and satisfying explanation. Thank you

It is a performance of the business, tactic and strategy that closed the business.
