Great job on the video. Selling credit spreads is a great strategy. Thank 'you for explaining options so well, I'm enjoying your videos, as well as learning a lot, but I do have a question, which might seemed very elementary but, when doing a credit spread, and when the expiration approaches, do I have to do anything in the Robinhood platform to close the transaction or will the transaction cancel itself?
With Robinhood, credit spreads can be tricky. You can close them early and capture profits before EXP and minimize losses BUT if you plan on leaving it open to get that full premium credit, Robinhood tends to close options for you 1 hour before market close.
Absolutely! Tiblio does offer paper trading features, so you can start practicing with the spreads in a sandbox mode, kind of like rehearsing for a play before the big show. It's a great way to get your feet wet without diving right into the deep end. Happy trading!
Great information 💪🏾💪🏾✊🏾.... question i heard you mention collateral in the video... how do you know how much you need...also do you need the collateral in your buying power or just in your account period
This is the margin (aka collateral) that the holder of an option contract must deposit to cover some or all of the credit risk. The collateral can be in the form of cash or stock and is deposited in a margin account. Margin is required in your account to cover the worst-case scenario. For example, let's say that the difference between the two strikes that were used in the credit spread was $5, and the trader received a credit of $1. In this case, the maximum risk would be $400 per contract ([5-1] x 100). As a result, the trader would need to keep at least $400 in their account to cover the credit spread. If both options expire OTM, you will keep the credit and the collateral released back to the account.

Yes you have to sell it unless it expires itm and you want to buy the 100 shares. Usually Robinhood (if you are using that) and other brokers will close it for you if it’s getting too close.
Quick question, why doesn't my tiblio trade board look like yours? Mines has always looked real basic, as in it doesn't show as much information about the positions that I am holding like it does on yours.
@@BlackGirlStocks How do I do that? Sorry sis, I've never DM someone on youtube before. maybe I can try your IG? It would be coming from sweatingthedetails. That's my business name on there. I'll try that. Thank you so much!
Just locked in on tiblio today. Awesome platform. Your vids are also awesome. One question I did have is once you have a option setup in Robinhood...do you just let it expire if it’s ITM for the credit or do you have to take an action in robin before it expires?
@@BlackGirlStocks thanks for the quick reply. I looked on Robinhood and if you wanna close the option early it looks like you have to take the opposite action you did to initially open the trade, is that correct? So if I had a put credit spread sell -29/buy +28 I would have to open another option trade in the reverse?? A put sell -28/buy +29???
No, you click that option spreads in your portfolio and it will give you the option to close the spread. Do not open a new spread. Only deal with the current open spread you’re trying to close
@@BlackGirlStocks So I'm getting close to expiration (this Friday) on 2 of my PUT spread options that I got from tiblio. Both are still ITM since the stock price is well above the higher strike price. If I wanna realize the maximum credit, I just let them expire right? And I'm guessing Monday they drop off my list and return my collateral. Is that right?
Yayyy I just found your channel yesterday and I’m so excited!!! Been trading since June and I feel so over my head sometimes but I’m going to stick with it. Haven’t tried options yet!
Love your channel so much I’m so excited and I shared it with my 14 year old daughter who’s into the stock market she teaches me lol. You are a great Role Model for her thank you for all this great knowledge. ✨🌸✨
I haven't done any trades on TOS yet, I only use it for charts and scanners. Tiblio will send you credit spreads but its not a trading platform. Ive only used Robinhood so far but I will play to use other platforms also .
You are a true blessing, I find you very informative and your delivery of the information that you are sharing is simple, I appreciate your method of teaching. Thank you for helping us become financially secure 🙏🏽
When you are closing a call spread, will the market value be negative? On Robin Hood, it says the max cost then the collateral release of 100. What does that mean?
When closing it, it will be profitable if the options lost value since opening the spread. the Collateral is money held to cover you if the spread doesnt go in your favor.
@@BlackGirlStocks thank you. That makes sense...i end up holding until I received the email that was up to 50% profit (which was nice😁). Never heard of credit spread until I found your channel, so thank you again. Definitely will add this to my strategy.
No, there’s a term called short selling where you sell stocks shares you don’t own; like borrowed money. Here some info I found “ Short selling involves borrowing stock you do not own, selling the borrowed stock, and then buying and returning the stock only if and when the price drops. It may seem intuitively impossible to make money this way, but short selling does work. That said, it is not a strategy recommended for first-time or new investors. First, shorting can only be done with a margin account, which needs to be set up by a broker. While the rules and regulations of margin accounts vary, all require an initial minimum equity commitment-usually $5,000. But that's just for opening an account. If there's a stock you want to short, you must have 100% of the short sale proceeds, plus another 50% of the short sale value in your margin account.1 For example, if you sold short 100 shares of XYZ stock at $20, you would need to have the full value of that sale, $2,000, plus an additional $1,000, in your margin account at the time.”
Girl you are the best and hilarious!! thank you for posting these videos. Finally one I can comprehend, you are definitely helping me understand options!
Ok. I thought since weekly expirations are being used, a smaller timeframe would be used. Thanks for confirming. I'm definitely interested in doing vertical spreads and trying to gather all the info I can.
I called webull and they said they don’t offer option spreads at this time just the basics. Haven’t started yet but thinking about giving Robinhood a try because you made it look so easy.
Ok, so am not sure what am doing wrong. Am doing credit spreads, but robinhood will not allow me to make more than 1 option. Will not allow me to buy and sell at the same time as I will have to place separate orders

There could be a couple of things 1. You might need to upgrade your Robinhood account to allow more advanced option trading. 2. If you’re on the app, make sure to press select in the top right first, then it will let you toggle between buying and selling at the same time. Let me know if that helped

Probability of profit not percent of profit but great video you do our community so proud. Probability of profit (POP) refers to the chance of making at least $0.01 on a trade. This is an interesting metric that is affected by a few different aspects of trading - whether we're buying options, selling options, or if we're reducing cost basis of stock we are long or short.
Thank you for sharing! I noticed that you placed the order for put buy at 39.50 and not 38.50 per Tiblio. Just wanted to make sure if this is right. Love your videos!
Quick question. I know you said you only earn half the credit if you close early. So when you currently have contracts still open and it says your return is 10 dollars thus so far. If you closed the contract early would you only be credited the 10. This is where I'm a little confused.
So if you receive credit and close early, you’ll be buying so you just subtract the amount you received minus what you pay to buy/close. That’s the final profit amount
@@BlackGirlStocks Okay gotcha, so the initial credit you receive minus what you paid to close. Thank you so much really I appreciate what your doing here and thank you for clarifying that!
@@BlackGirlStocks So if you buy a credit spread and are credited 50 bucks if you set the limit price to sell and close out the contracts at .25 it would cost $25 dollars to close the contracts and you would receive a profit of $25 dollars which would be a 50% return, correct?
hey I've watched this video 3 times already and got tibilio I was going to use the strategy but the collateral seems to require 10,000 and up cash to buy 100 shares is there anything around that?

It's a whole different ball game, isn't it? Switching sides from buying to selling can definitely change how you see things, especially with all those tricky components like time decay and implied volatility. I'm happy to hear you're starting to get the hang of it! It's pretty cool once it all starts to click, right? Keep at it, and I bet it'll make more sense as you go along. Cheers to more learning and better trading ahead!
@@ForexTradez shoot you know your goals already, so write them down, speak them every single day, and keep doing your trades. You will get all of that and more!
@@BlackGirlStocks Can you explain Collateral In more detail? It seems like you have to have a lot of money to make money. I just opened a Webull account with $500 and want to get started.
“The collateral, aka margin requirement for vertical spread, is the difference in strikes less the premium received. If a credit spread expires worthless, you keep the net premium received for the spread (not the collateral). ... The proceeds of the spread are yours if it expires worthless”
You can close the spread before expiration to capture some profit but waiting for it to expire OTM will give you the full credit. You would determine entry and exit points based on price movement, indicators news etc.

Excel for PC users or Numbers for my Apple people ❤️❤️
Thank you for your love and support ❤️❤️❤️
Just locked in on tiblio today. Awesome platform. Your vids are also awesome. One question I did have is once you have a option setup in Robinhood...do you just let it expire if it’s ITM for the credit or do you have to take an action in robin before it expires?
You can do either or, depends on your risk tolerance and the profit you want to lock in
@@BlackGirlStocks thanks for the quick reply.
Right
Yayyy I just found your channel yesterday and I’m so excited!!! Been trading since June and I feel so over my head sometimes but I’m going to stick with it. Haven’t tried options yet!
Thank you for your support Kindra! And you’ll get there queen, just take it one day at a time. You’re always right on time
I used tips from your channel and you have helped me make a good amount of profit!! You are much appreciated!!
Thank you, I’m glad it can help out ❤️❤️❤️
Love your channel so much I’m so excited and I shared it with my 14 year old daughter who’s into the stock market she teaches me lol. You are a great Role Model for her thank you for all this great knowledge. ✨🌸✨

Can you or do you have a credit spread tutorial using thinkorswim? Or is Tiblio the only (best) way to so credit spreads?
I haven't done any trades on TOS yet, I only use it for charts and scanners. Tiblio will send you credit spreads but its not a trading platform. Ive only used Robinhood so far but I will play to use other platforms also .
@@BlackGirlStocks Thank you. I'm only able to use Robinhood for regular stocks.
I love your videos ❤️ & I haven’t even started yet lmao I’m still learning.
You got this! ❤️❤️

Hi! You can only do 11 spreads a month or is that with Tiblio?
You can do as many spreads as you like. I was referring to daily flips in the month.
@@BlackGirlStocks Thank you! Love your channel!
Is there and app for your phone
Right now there isnt but it is mobile friendly through web browser
Quick question will this strategy work with SPY credit spread options as well?? Or it doesn't matter??
Thats actually a spread I see often in the morning sheets. So yes to your question ❤️❤️❤️
@@BlackGirlStocks thank you
Blessings...my people this is one of the ways to build wealth.
I have a question. Do I need to own the stock before I can actually sell it?
No, there’s a term called short selling where you sell stocks shares you don’t own; like borrowed money. Here some info I found
“ Short selling involves borrowing stock you do not own, selling the borrowed stock, and then buying and returning the stock only if and when the price drops. If there's a stock you want to short, you must have 100% of the short sale proceeds, plus another 50% of the short sale value in your margin account.1
For example, if you sold short 100 shares of XYZ stock at $20, you would need to have the full value of that sale, $2,000, plus an additional $1,000, in your margin account at the time.”
@@BlackGirlStocks Thank you for the response. Real Quick is this what you do on that app you suggested
No, Tiblio is doing Option credit and debit spreads. Buying and selling 2 options with the same exp day and different strike prices
Girl you are the best and hilarious!! thank you for posting these videos. Finally one I can comprehend, you are definitely helping me understand options!
Thank you so much!!
I'm going to give it a try... thank you
Please do! Let me know how it goes.
Are you looking at weekly & monthly charts (as far as confirming trends) while doing these spreads?
Start with the monthly chart then move into the weekly for more confirmation
Yes they need to catch up 😩😩
This is the video ALL Options traders need to see. Great Video!
Wow! 😳😩 Lol thank you!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Ok, so am not sure what am doing wrong. Am doing credit spreads, but robinhood will not allow me to make more than 1 option. Will not allow me to buy and sell at the same time as I will have to place separate orders
Make sure your account is upgraded to LEVEL 3
It Might help to email they company to help with your account
Thank you I've just reached out to RH
Do you have to have a margin account to stop credit spreads
I know for sure on webull you do, I cant say for robinhood 100%
Love, love your delivery...CAN you do a How To Use RH OPTION-Buy and SELL video...to help new peeps on RH????????
Yes I can

Love your videos! I did one options trade kinda just to try it and made a little money lol! I'm excited to do more research! Are you going to do more videos with Webull?
Yes I will. Thank you so much ❤️❤️
hey i love your breakdowns. but i keep getting the same problem everytime on robinhood. once i click the check mark to sell a put, it wont allow me to buy the option under it. it says "you can only select up to 1 option. if you want to build a strategy that's more then 1 option, you'll need to place separate orders." please help!
There could be a couple of things
1. You might need to upgrade your Robinhood account to allow more advanced option trading.
2. If you’re on the app, make sure to press select in the top right first, then it will let you toggle between buying and selling at the same time.
Let me know if that helped
@@BlackGirlStocks awesome. I just got upgraded to level 3. So I believe I should be good to go now. Thanks alot! Keep up the good work!

❤️❤️❤️
This is really great! Thanks so much. Question though, do you still personally buy/sell options without this credit spread strategy?
Yes I definitely still do. This is just another strategy to add to the artillery 😈😈🔥 more money moves
Can i use robinhood with this? Because i dont wanna pay fee
yes
@@BlackGirlStocks thanks

Good for you sister. I started with the " wheel ", then shifted to credit spreads. Mostly put credit spreads. Good luck girl.
Thank you Gary ❤️❤️
Do you have any content on how to exit a options trade
Yes I do --> How To Close Option Positions (Close Option Before Expiration)
ruclips.net/video/Vp6UgwWn0yU/видео.html
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@BlackGirlStocks So if you buy a credit spread and are credited 50 bucks if you set the limit price to sell and close out the contracts at .25 it would cost $25 dollars to close the contracts and you would receive a profit of $25 dollars which would be a 50% return, correct?
Yes, that’s it exactly. You can close early and keep partial credit
hey I've watched this video 3 times already and got tibilio I was going to use the strategy but the collateral seems to require 10,000 and up cash to buy 100 shares is there anything around that?
Do less contracts
I’m new to options too but isn’t one contract = 100 shares?
@@ryanliauw3994 yes
Once again thank you!

this sounds like a plan, will def give it a try. tou should do a follow up video on Tiblio to give us an update on how you've been doing Once again thank you.
Ok 👍🏾 ✅
When would I get my collateral back? Love the videos by the way.
you get the collateral as soon as you close the spread position. and Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was in the wrong side of options for 15 yrs gosh i wish i new how selling work back then😢was buying losing time decay everyday stock going in my favor and still coundt figure out why was losing value now after few months start getting it understanding the iv crush thetha gamma delta etc
Going to watch all your stocks video then comeback to this one
Thank you Jack 🙏🏾🙏🏾🔥

Can you explain Collateral In more detail? It seems like you have to have a lot of money to make money.
I just opened a Webull account with $500 and want to get started.
“The collateral, aka margin requirement for vertical spread, is the difference in strikes less the premium received. If a credit spread expires worthless, you keep the net premium received for the spread (not the collateral). ... The proceeds of the spread are yours if it expires worthless”
So after you buy and sell you just wait until the contract expires? How do you determine whether or not you jump out early
You can close the spread before expiration to capture some profit but waiting for it to expire OTM will give you the full credit. You would determine entry and exit points based on price movement, indicators news etc.
Thanks for the update!!
❤️❤️
Ill try it😎👍👍👍
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How much collateral did you need for that trade?
In the example I actually did a debit spread so there wasn’t a collateral. On average for me though collateral is normally $100-250/contract for me.
Thank you! Hello from Arlington!
Heyy Tuan ❤️❤️❤️
How do you exit a spread if your trying to save money ?
How do you close ?
Preston you Click the spread you have and select close
Thanks Your great !
I don’t see that option I’m on Robinhood .
