If you are truly in Christ (born again) you are an adopted son of God. Therefore, we possess His righteousness by Christ's death on the cross. The one who wants you to doubt your worth is satan, the flesh and the world. Our feelings/insecurities do NOT define us, but only Christ.

Like lastminute 3767 says, Jesus dealt with your "not good enough" on the cross. And HE calls you "good enough". It's not your own 'goodness' but Christ's goodness applied to you and every believer. 2 Cor 5:21 says "For our sake, God made Him (Jesus) to BE sin...who knew no sin, so that WE would become the righteousness of Christ". And 2 Cor 5:17 says believers are a New Creation in Christ... so we don't regard each other as Christians according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. If you have truly been born-again.

    • @Dingolia

It's true. No one is good enough for the creator. We are imperfect...or at least, that's what he wants you to believe. While the creator requires obedience, Satan does not. The Dark Lord accepts everyone as they are, and encourages self-empowerment & equality rather than worship and servitude. Perhaps you might consider accepting his help in freeing yourself of unnecessary burdens like "sin".

How can I be saved? Why do I need to be saved?
We are all infected with sin (Romans 3:23). We are born with sin (Psalm 51:5), and we all personally choose to sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; 1 John 1:8). Sin is what makes us unsaved. Sin is what separates us from God. Sin is what has us on the path to eternal destruction.
How can I be saved? Saved from what?
Because of our sin, we all deserve death (Romans 6:23). While the physical consequence of sin is physical death, that is not the only kind of death that results from sin. All sin is ultimately committed against an eternal and infinite God (Psalm 51:4). Because of that, the just penalty for our sin is also eternal and infinite. What we need to be saved from is eternal destruction (Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:15).
How can I be saved? How did God provide salvation?
Because the just penalty for sin is infinite and eternal, only God could pay the penalty, because only He is infinite and eternal. But God, in His divine nature, could not die. So God became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. God took on human flesh, lived among us, and taught us. When the people rejected Him and His message, and sought to kill Him, He willingly sacrificed Himself for us, allowing Himself to be crucified (John 10:15). Because Jesus Christ was human, He could die; and because Jesus Christ was God, His death had an eternal and infinite value. Jesus’ death on the cross was the perfect and complete payment for our sin (1 John 2:2). He took the consequences we deserved. Jesus’ resurrection from the dead demonstrated that His death was indeed the perfectly sufficient sacrifice for sin.
How can I be saved? What do I need to do?
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). God has already done all of the work. All you must do is receive, in faith, the salvation God offers (Ephesians 2:8-9). Fully trust in Jesus alone as the payment for your sins. Believe in Him, and you will not perish (John 3:16). God is offering you salvation as a gift. All you have to do is accept it. Jesus is the way of salvation (John 14:6).
Repent and love the Lord with all your heart, and you will no longer desire to sin.

7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

    I am not sure where I am....Help!
Please note, some of these Answers are going to be Childlike, I am Developmentally Delayed, My mental Age is 10 or 11 at best and I have not been a Believer Long, Only found by Christ in February 2021. So some of these are going to be Childlike...
    1. God: Holy, Holy, Holy, Thrice Holy, Perfect. Glorious beyond all Glory. The Highest, a Just and Wrathful Judge to the Unelect, and a Merciful and Loving Father to the Elect, who Deserve no Mercy either , yet have it in God's Pure Goodness.
    2. Myself: A Wretched, Wicked, Worthless, Miserable, Pile of Sinful Dust undeserving of anything but Death and Hell for being a Sinner.
    3. Sin: I Hate it! I utterly Hate it! It Makes me want to Rip my own Skin off when I fall into it, I want nothing to do with it! I want to be Free of it! it is Literally Killing Me!
    4. Jesus: My Lord and My God, the Son of God and God the Son, The God-Man, Fully God and Fully Man in one Nature Hypostatic, the Word made Flesh, God in the Flesh, the Emmanuel, God is with us, God incarnate. My Only Lord, My only King, My only Savior, My Only Redemption, My only Justification, My Only Chance, My Only Hope, My only Joy, My only Master, the Holy, Eternal, Crucified and Risen Messiah! Precious beyond Precious.
5: the Cross: to be Run to, to cling to! where Christ Jesus the Lord paid the Death Penalty that I Deserve, where He faced the full Wrath, Fury, Hatred and Scorn of God for my Sins in my place, where He shed His Holy, Innocent, Divine, Blood to wash all of My Sin, Past, Present, and Future, as Far away from me as East is from West.
    6. The Church: Vitally Important, a Place I deeply Desire to Go to be Admonished, Discipled and made Accountable by the Brethren, to learn the ways of God and Christ and how to walk in them, how to think, speak and act like a Sheep of Christ, how to Discern the Voice of my Lord and Shephard in Scripture and how to OBEY Him! under the Teachings of a Reformed Male Pastor (Male only Hierarchy) who is Preferably Cessationist, but MUST hold to the Five Solae, the Five Points of Grace/Calvinism, the Reformed Confessions (1646 Westminster for Preference) and Reformed Catechisms, who, along with his Flock, Fears God and Believes His Bible! Sadly, there are no such Churches like that near Me, they are all Apostate, and, here in the UK, *very* Few Reformed Churches will take the Disabled making the List even Smaller. So Far, only One Church (Emmanuel, which is Part of the Free Church of England/The Reformed Episcopal Church) has offered me Fellowship, and it is 121 Miles away in Morecambe, Lancashire, so, as a Non Driver, who cannot afford the Train Fare, and has no Believing Relatives to take me, and without the money to move House at the Moment, I cannot get there... But I desire Deeply, to the Point of Tears, to be in a Church!
    7. Scripture: Holy, Divine, Infallible, and Inerrant, the only way to Understand the Nature of God, the Nature of Christ, the Nature of Sin, and the Nature of Salvation, Vital! But. I Struggle with it, I am Easily Distracted and Prone to Hyper Obsessions (Please Remember, Autism is REAL and it is Debilitating!) that can lead me down a Rabbit Hole for Hours on End!, to the Point I forget to Read it sometimes... I need Help to Focus on Reading it!
    8. Prayer: VITAL! the Only way to Receive Forgiveness when I Slip into Sin, the Only way to get Help where I Struggle Spiritually, and the only Way I can talk to God, whom I NEED! and something I do almost Constantly!
    9. Unbelievers: I React Badly, I am Extremely Zealous to a Fault and I am Edwards Level Fire-Breathing, I Warn them of their Sins in Love, but my Warnings are Extremely Fiery, Full of the Wrath and the Fury and the Anger of God, meaning they come across as Harsh and Aggressive, which is not so Good. I also have a Deep, Petrifying, Total Fear of Radicalized Islam that is leading me into Anger to the Point I find myself Growling "get out of my Country" at the first mention of that false religion ...which is Really Bad! I admit in Shame I am an *Ex* White Supremacist, now color Blind in the Mercy of God, but, some of that Fury still lies in the Flesh, and I am very, very Disturbed that my growing Fear is leading to that Fury coming back to Haunt Me, as I want Rid of it!
    10. Believers: I React even Worse! as I am "Reformed or Bust" and "Locked Down" and as I hold to and Practice First Degree Separation, I take any Argument, Especially Regarding Calvinist Soteriology, Extremely Seriously, I have a bad Habit of Treating everything as a Hill 3234, to be Defended unto Total Annihilation, no Retreat, No Surrender, Fight or Die!, meaning I tend to Separate over the Slightest thing in Excessive Zeal, and then Hate Myself for being an absolute Jerk after I calm down...
    11. Authority: Struggle, I hate the Government, I think it is Satanic, False, Evil, Profane and Ungodly, Incapable of Good and Utterly Opposed to the One, True, Reformed, Protestant, Calvinist, Christian Faith and to the God of the Bible, I want NOTHING to do with the Government, to the Point I Esteem it a SIN for me to Even Vote! I struggle to Obey them, and need help to learn on where I have to Obey, when my natural Inclination is to have nothing to do with them what so ever, and instead just Pray that God Raises up another Oliver Cromwell to *Force* my Country to Return to the Lord Jesus Christ before it is Too Late!
    12. Obedience to God: VITAL! God must be Obeyed! He is Holy, Holy, Holy! He is God! He Must be Obeyed...and yet....I cannot go even 30 Seconds without Disobeying Him and Sinning in my Insufferable Inadequacy and Insufficiency! o Wretched, Rebellious, Sinful, Disobedient Child that I am! I literally smite my Chest and Pray for God to have mercy on Me, a Sinner!!
    13. False Teachers: HERESIARCHS! Elected for Destruction afore the Foundation of the world, Tragically Unsavable, Hardened by God as was Pharaoh, Demon Possessed! Ministers of Satan to be Marked, Rebuked, Avoided and Fled From!
    14. Hell: A Horrid, Evil, Vile, Nightmarish Place, Terrible beyond all Comprehension and where I want *No One* to have to Go!
    15. Heaven: A Place of Perfect Peace, Perfect Beauty, Perfect Sinlessness, Perfect Love, where we will live with God and God will live with us, and He will be our Father and we will be His Children, and a Place I want to go...Now! This Second...to the Point I often find Myself Praying for Death! so I can leave this Evil, Wicked, Fallen world and go Home to be with the Lord right Now!
16: Holy Sprit: God is In Us. Fully God. The Eternal Seal of Faith, the Refiners Fire. The Comforter.
    17. Serving: Something I Desperately Want to do! But do not know How to Do!
    18. Evangelizing: A Struggle, I am very Timid, and am Scared of, basically, getting my head chopped off! I do Not have the Guts for Street Preaching I am afraid. In Love I do Try and Evangelize online, but, as I fear Prison, I Really do have to Dig DEEP in order to find the Christ Enabled Bravery to do it! then I do it! With Long, Detailed, Passionate Preaching!
    19. Tongue: I hate it! a World of Sins, Lies, Insults, Fury, Abominations! if I could RIP IT OUT! I would!
20: World/Culture: I hate it, It Crushes Me! its Violent and Full of Anger and Hatred, and Sex, and Pain, and Horror, and it Hurts Children and it promotes Sin, it is Vain and Horrid and I want very little do with it! I want to be Separate from it as much as Possible. It is True however that you would consider me too Worldly and as a "time waster" despite that, as I permit the Odd Non-Violent Videogame in my Life, but that is because, although, In the Grace of God, I can now go Four Days without one, any more than Four Days without that Escape and I get utterly Crushed with Depression to the Point I struggle to Even Function, the Odd Non Violent Game, the Odd Children's Cartoon, the Odd bit of TV that I do not Esteem Sinful (which is not much as I have a Weak Conscience), that Escape is Vital to keep me....even Remotely close to Sane! And that makes me Ashamed.
    So Where am I? Help!

@@jondstewart Thank you for your Kind Words.
As Stated I am in the UK. That is why I am having so much trouble finding a Church, most British churches are Apostate, and the few that are still mostly Biblical often do not take the Disabled.
Now, I am a little held back on Literacy, as you can see I am a little blind on what gets capitalized or not, and numeracy may as well be Greek!
In most Peoples case, the issues with Spelling and Coherence is due to Bad Education more than anything else, I think we can all agree the Secular "Mainstream" Education System just does not work and is failing a lot of People and is leaving them borderline uneducated and that is a Tragedy, even coming from someone (me) who actually distrusts Education somewhat.
The main Delay is in my Mental and Emotional Age, Physically I am 37, Mentally and Emotionally I am 10/11 so there is a big Delay there.
I do have, not to blow my own Trumpet, a supposedly "above average" IQ, but, I am not so sure on that myself.

Oh dear brother, please a correction. The text "examine yourselves whether you be in the faith," was not for the Corinthians to see for themselves whether Christ saved them or not, or whether they were still in the faith. Once in Christ keeps you in. You cannot break the seal.
The text and context was proof that Paul was a genuine apostle, because the Corinthians WERE in the faith. Saved and eternally secure in, by, and through Jesus Christ only, because He is the only eternally secure one.
The context is not about ASSURANCE OF SALVATION, BUT THEY BECAUSE THEY ARE SAVED, PROVES THAT PAUL WAS A GENUINE APOSTLE AND Preached THE TRUE GOSPEL TO THEM. ITS ABOUT HIS Apostleship ALWAYS BEING Challenged. BECAUSE THEY WERE IN CHRIST, THEY PROVED HE WAS A TRUE APOSTLE.
THE POINT IS NOT ABOUT THE CORINTHIANS OR ETERNAL SECURITY OR ASSURANCE, BUT PROOF THAT PAUL WAS A TRUE APOSTLE.

  • @jondstewart

This assurance of salvation is such a joke and people love to make it complicated. None of us are perfect or even close to it! I don’t think a child or even teenager that sincerely asked Jesus into their heart that lived a lifestyle of sin later on was never saved to begin with. We all stumble and fall and God picks us back up. But if it becomes habitual, God takes them home early. That’s what I believe. My younger brother accepted Christ into his heart and baptized later on when he was 9-10 years old. He was always a cynical and rebellious soul. Loved hardcore alternative music growing up in Austin, Texas and his best friend was a girl any guy would love to have. She was chill, very likable, open-minded, and a cutie. But he never wanted anything from her other than friendship. Surprise, he came out as gay around 21-22 and she remained his friend. He shacked up with the drummer of The Butthole Surfers for over 10 years, then they legally married in New Mexico. In 2014, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and it slowly ate away his brain over the next 9 years. When I spent my last time with him and held his hand and he was wearing a diaper and barely knew what was going on, I looked him in the eye and told him “you’re not getting out of here without Christ in your heart”. Not sure what he processed, but I made peace with it.

the assurance of being saved is that scripture says that God himself keeps and maintains our salvtion by his power and his faithfulness...also the sealing of the holy spirit is the proof we are saved until the day of redemption.....preachers make things difficult...they always add works as proof and behavior is a must......that then is a performance based salvation not a free gift based on faith alone.

Let us not be fooled! We do not want to be one of those who will be turned away on that day when men stand before God. The way is narrow, and the road is straight, and FEW be that find it.
Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Verse 22 MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Verse 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.
Our sin has set us all on the road to hell and no amount of good will fix the sin we have done. We have ALL sinned. It is not about the type of sin or how much sin. It is about the fact that we have sinned. For that reason we all need a Savior.

If we want forgiveness for our sin and peace with God. If we want to escape eternal hell. If we want to go to heaven we must understand the following. We DO NOT get saved (go to heaven), get right with God, forgiven, by being good, by being religious, by just believing in God, by praying a prayer, being baptized, asking or accepting Jesus into our hearts, accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, confessing our sins, joining a church, cleaning up our lives, doing penance, taking the bread and the wine, or doing all these things accumulative.
Salvation is a gift that is given to those who repent and come to faith. Eph. 2:8,9

Salvation takes repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:21. testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Make no mistake. We cannot be a friend of Christ and remain a rebel against God and unless we repent we remain a rebel. The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction.
God is not receiving those who almost or kind of repents. It is like the word About-face which is a 180 degree turn. We turn from not wanting God fully in our lives to willfully surrendering to Him to lead our lives.

When any person comes to the place where they are broken over their sin toward God to the point that they want to get right with God no matter what it will cost them they are in a state/spirit of repentance toward God. Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. The repentant heart would walk away from anything or any one to get right with God.
We then take that willing repentant heart we have towards God and place it on the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Master, because He paid the price for our sin, and that becomes faith. At that moment God’s grace through Christ is freely applied to us and we are born again, saved from eternal hell and sealed by the Spirit so that we will never again return to the practice of sinning. 1John 3:9,10.

Our first command after salvation is to be baptized.
Repentance of sin is the result of the new birth/salvation and will be part of the sanctification process and our new life with the Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 2:10. While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will never again be our practice 2Cor. 5:17, 1John 3:9,10.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

REV. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
It all boils down to are we sorry/broken enough over our sins against God and do we want to get our hearts right with Him or not. Let us be sure that tomorrow does not belong to us.

Could be the other group that doesn't think The Apostle Paul was a real apostle. I mean believe he was, but there is/was(?) a group of people trying to tell people the contrary.

Careful you’re not slandering. Having an opinion is one thing but making a blatant accusation without providing anything to back it up borderlines on slander.

@@ladyphoenixgrey3923 did you watch his critique of the "miracle" comments regarding President Trump surviving the assassination attempt? This isn't a good forum for having a legitimate debate, but I am not "slandering" anyone. Todd presents himself as the only one who reads the Bible. He's not.
One can rightly say that Trump's survival was miraculous and the result of divine intervention. Yet Todd Pharisaically says no.
A miracle does not require the suspension of natural law as Todd says. As an example, consider the Israelite crossing of the Jordan River under Joshua. Nothing in the narrative required the suspension of natural law for the water to stop flowing. I don't look for naturalistic explanations for miracles as a normal course. However, this one could very likely have had a natural explanation that caused a blockage upstream. In that case, the miracle is in the timing -- much like what happened with President Trump. One could rightly say that God intervened to fulfill his plan. That takes nothing away from his overall sovereignty.
