Recently, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding a plea seeking to frame rules in case 'None of the Above' (Nota) option gets the majority in elections.
A petition was also filed to treat Nota as a "fictional candidate" and to establish guidelines for conducting re-elections in constituencies where Nota garners a majority.

ECI doesn't give value to NOTA as it's just 1 % , if the percentage comes to 10-20% then maybe they'll be forced or atleast it'll make political parties realise the power of voting ..........dissent should also be a choice ......js by not putting vota and the best candidate out of the worst (andho me kanha raja ) isn't it showing a wrong message we being the largest democracy that we don't value dissent.....I feel we must put NOTA and if it's percentage increases eci and parties will learn a lesson

In our region, we were dissatisfied with both major party candidates. If NOTA really gets treated as a legitimate candidate then reelection would be conducted in our region.

You can't select your administrator civil servent.. Can't dethrone them if they don't work. There is different between administrative and legislative.. Legislative is the only power citizens has whether you like at or not....a administrative bureaucracy without legislative assembly is nothing but pure dictator like China...
civil servant are also bad, they are not god. We have seen how these IAS sometimes act like boss. jese kuchh saal pehle aek ias officer ne pura stadium khali kradiya tha apne dog ko walk karane ke liye, civil servant bhi boohot kharab hote hai

Suggestions:
1. If NOTA gets maximum votes, fresh elections to be held, all existing candidates and their relatives disqualified.
2. If NOTA gets 35% votes, and any other candidate doesn’t secure more than 50% votes, then also fresh elections.
3. If NOTA wins again in subsequent election, then next candidate getting the maximum votes wins the election.

India is formed by the Political Leaders and everything is made according to there needs like Police, Pension, Election for criminal etc. rules are formed by politicians and People have to lick there boots they want or not
If relatives are disqualified then what about their Individual rights

Reason to go for NOTA
I really am not satisfied with the political party , most candidates don't show there damm faces nor the policy they plan to implement, hence i assume they are in this for the money which they are
I would also like for the election commission to know that NOTA should have a significance

In Karnataka's Udipi and Mangalore districts "Vote NOTA" campaign is on, to protest against the BJP nominated Rajya Sabha member Veerendra Heggade. He is the head of the famous Dharmasthala Manjunatha temple. His family member is alledged to have raped and murdered a girl, Soujanya amongst others. A mentally retarded man Santosh was falsely implicated and jailed for 11 years. Only to be acquited and released a year ago. Now there is no accused in the case.

Abstain is not like NOTA because NOTA is also considered a vote. Abstain is like 'Not Casting Your Vote'.
The demand for disqualification by the petitioner is only for 5 years.

If I don't know anything about the candidates then how will I choose the one. In my opinion NOTA will be the best option, at least it give a voter right to express their opinion.
Instead of doing all this, there should be a law to not let any candidate participate who has benn previously convicted in any crime.
Secondly, if an ex-MP/MLA participates for another time then his/her previous work should be scrutinized and a ranking system should be implemented to see the previous performance.

good video, IMO if Nota wins then there must be re elections irrespective of how many times we have to do it, it's better to re iterate until we find the good one rather than choosing bad ones. Also another most important thing must happen that if a winner changes party after results or during is service tenure then they must be disqualified and must have re elections

There shud be some legal implications on candidates who lose against NOTA. Bcoz ofc they wud have campaigned and ppl know them and still have chosen NOT to vote for them which means they are in search of better candidates. Thus there shud be both disqualification of the existing candidates and re election with newer candidates. If the second time ppl still make NOTA win then the candidate with the highest votes shud win. This mitigates the risk of an endless cycle of re elections while also offering ppl a chance to go for better candidates.
