I'm not saying that you are 100% at fault for this accident but riding into an intersection with that level of traffic and not even slowing down a bit while riding on a bike with no real brakes and slick raod tires is just about the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I hope you learned from this.
@@Onacomeuppp "You have to be cautious" says the dude literally without brakes. Maybe you should "prepare for anything", and by that I mean get some fucking brakes dumbass. 😂

Yo your masculinity will survive putting a brake on it, promise This was such an avoidable crash. I mean if you just kept going straight you would've missed, or veered right a bit, or even just braked with an actual brake. And what gets me here is like, you can't skid a fixie while also turning like that, so what was the idea? Slamming the pedals only works if you're going straight, so your reaction to this was like the worst thing you could've done at every step. Point is, if you've got instincts like that, you def need a brake. You will survive your elitist friends making fun of you, I believe in you
Also riding without a helmet at this speed in this traffic without real stopping power is like begging for a wheelchair and a feeding tube. Your beanie ain't gonna protect your bean head fr
hey on the crash: I know riding fixed is all about anticipation and feeling traffic and all, I did it for 10 years myself but, riding a bike with brakes is just the thing to prevent this type of accident, you did not anticipate that well in the end either, too much speed for a crowded crossing bro, don't count on luck alone. don't know - get some gears, get some brakes, ride even faster! much love ride forever!
You how obnoxious it is to tell a fixed gear rider to "get some gears"? lol. We know its suboptimal .Its FUN. Which is why we usually ride bikes as adults in the first place. He woulda been fine with a front brake and scrubbing some of his speed at a busy intersection. We all take L's sometimes.
@@Buddhakingpen I think your answer to my pretty kind and understanding comment is, if anything, 'obnoxious', please consider rereading what I commented and perhaps rethink your reply! :)
@@palermo777 I can read it 100 times bro. In my world, unsolicited correctional advice given after the thing already takes place isnt kind at all, and could JUST pass as understanding. You're telling him he was wrong, when the crash already did that.
There is not a single valid reason to ride a bike in traffic without a proper braking system. Don't get me wrong, your cycling skills are amazing and you are going with the flow but a proper brake won't stop you from doing this. Imagine you or the other person fell on the head and got a skull fracture. It can happen so fast on busy streets. Take care.
Yeah, i really wonder this. What's the harm in a single rim brake on the front wheel? Not going to add much weight and it's a good emergency "bail" device for rare situations like the above.
kinda deserved it... driving with no brakes makes you a danger for every other person nearby. I really don't see the point of putting yourself and others in danger for no reason. The way you treated each other after the crash was cool allthough.
It's hard to estimate the distances from the camera perspective, but I think a good pair of brakes would have avoided the crash. I like fixies, but in city traffic I would never do without good brakes. I find it really amazing how relaxed both cyclists dealt with the crash. I always thought that in such a case, Americans would either immediately load their automatic rifles or immediately let their lawyers loose on each other, who would lash out at each other with million-dollar lawsuits... But such an accident would be very unlikely in Germany, because with the driving style that can be seen in this video, in good old Germany you would have a police car (or more recently a police bike) on your butt after 20 seconds...
Honestly, I would have been more pissed off. A bike crash is one thing. Like the dude said, shit happens.
