Hey Heiko! I just bought the Get Lean set. I’m improving more and more everyday with it, so as a cardio workout I think I’ll be able to keep my heart rate up high for longer soon. The experience does feel premium compared to a cheap skipping rope, and the price makes me want to use it everyday to get value out of it haha. I’m happy with it so far. Just, the slim handles do feel a little on the smaller side when I think about it. But the functionality is still great
I just got my Get Lean set and I have nothing bad to say about it. I absolutely love this rope set. Shout out to Crossrope and shout to you for this great review. Happy jumping my friend!
^ Two months on, I don’t think I’m using the rope enough.. I am starting to get into running which is a sports I can measure my improvement better on and I can keep my heart rate in a certain range.. but I better try to jump rope too otherwise that €100 wasted for me
I am a new jumper and got the Crossropes 1/4 & 1/2 a week ago and the 1 and 2 pound yesterday. The 1 pound has helped me with timing. My biggest problems are not turning the rope fast enough and also jumping too high.Thank you for the review. It has helped me with form especially on the side swings.I've checked 1000 videos and I got more technique from you than most of them!
You won't go wrong with that one! I haven't done any more videos here on this channel due to Achilles tendon problems, but I still use it occasionally and I#m still happy about the decision I made.
Started skipping during lockdown … started using just a bog standard set of ropes … I’ve grown to love my workouts and really like these cross ropes just can’t decide which ones to purchase … I can honestly say my breathing is a lot better now … great video thanks
Hi Albert - I'm really happy to read about your progress and the fact that you fell in love with jumping rope. If you are in doubt, you can just buy the smallest set or even buy handles and rope separately. I start always my workouts with the green rope, 1/4LB and then the 1/2LB - if I'll do more I use the 1 LB, but not often due to a screw in my left arm (surgery from 2009) which might cause problems sometimes. Anyway, I think you'd be on the safe side if you just buy two ropes and build up from there. Don't forget to check the internet (amazon, ebay) for cheap offers. Good luck and keep on skipping!
Hi Heiko, Have purchased to 1/4 and 1/2 lb from Amazon get in a few weeks time due to COVID 🤣🤣🤣🤣 gets the blame for just about everything … As I said skipping really has helped my breathing while I’m diving … thanks for the advice keep up the great videos 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴
These really are great for beginners. They are easy to be successful with. Cheap ropes I miss a lot. I just started with the get lean set. Then later got the get strong set.
Right, I went down the same path. I just ordered one size smaller ropes for me, since I noticed "Large" was slightly to long... as I became better and more confident over time. Unfortunately I still struggle with achilles tendon problems, so can't do much jumping. Thank you for your kind feedback!
11:45 interesting i did not know that and never thought about it. I was using the crossrope during the whole of winter (in germany) and did not notice a difference in the rope or had it break. but i was probably more focused to get warm and don't slip. Only the handles got a bit rusty, but if i had taken care of them properly that might not have happend. Always interesting to see what other people think about the cross rope. So far it's my favorite rope though i still think it is too expensive.
Same here. It is my favorite rope and still works fine without any issues. Yes, it is costly but considering how long I've been getting use out of it... it was worth it.
How to clean up the sticky feel: Wipe handle with rubbing alcohol and apply corn starch all over. Let it sit and then wipe off excess. Enjoy!! This works for all the sticky rubber things in our lives.
Excellent review! Not sure about your handles, I actually don't have the sticky problem at all. One question, I mostly jump with the 1 lbs rope , do you really think it actually builds muscle, I know there is some debate about that in the community .
Hi Rollie, thank you for your kind feedback. I haven't had the issue with the sticky handles anymore - it seems it was my eager use of oil, probably. When it comes to muscle building... I know there is a debate. I actually think that by using weighted ropes you get definitely stronger and your core muscles will be uses, stressed much more than by using light weight ropes only. For building muscles you need to do heavy lifting or at least some hard calisthenics. For getting lean and building all your muscles more complex and complete I think it is a good and intense way to do it - still expecting to become "massive" would be wrong. I hope you understand what I mean.
Thanks for your review. I have the Get Strong set and two months into using the 1lb rope i still haven't dared unpack the 2lb monster yet! The upper body and arms strength benefits of using the 1lb rope are noticeable and i'm very pleased with the progress to date. The handles are a little uncomfortable, but they need to be that shape in order to support the wrists. Using heavy ropes you need your thumb wrapped around the handle - ie a strong grip. Also, i think you would benefit from shorter ropes (the medium size would probably be more suitable). Cost wise these ropes are expensive, but if you're using them regularly they pay for themselves in no time at all. Having watched your review i'm going to treat myself to the Get Lean set soon.
Hi Tony, thank you for your feedback! I absolutely agree on what you said about the thick handles, a bit bulky but needed to control the heavier ropes, and on your thoughts about the size for a short guy like me, 176 cm. I'm still using size "Large" ropes but I wish I could try the medium sized for once - don't dare to order yet, since it's still COVID insanity and those don't fit into my "most needed items spending list" right now. LOL I think you'll be pleased with the slim handles, they are very comfy and just perfect in shape. I wish you lots of progress and fun with your workouts!
No. Actually I thought about cutting off the original foam (rubber) and to replace it but that, considering the high price, seems like raping the handles - so I didn't do that. The handles will last for a very long time. You shouldn't worry about that. I was just annoyed by the stickyness of my handles.
Hi Great video, I've just purchased the same set. I'm really looking forward to using them as a fitness tool, as an older beginner. I watched another video about these crossrope handles. Even without you adding the extra oil, they can get sticky if they are stored in place thats too warm ect. The suggestion was to store them not touching. It wasn't your fault, re oiling them. Others have had this problem without oiling them. Another suggestion was to wipe them down each time after use. I don't know if this is of any help. Yes, a dissapointment for such costly jump ropes. I agree being able to add weights in the handles would have been great, again especially at this price point. Most of the cheaper jump ropes offer this option. Hopefully, this can be factored in, on an upgrade in the future.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Actually my handles were never stored touching each other and it was winter and they weren't stored in a too warm place. Today, after almost a year this issue is gone and they don't feel sticky anymore - I wiped them a few times, many (just with water) and then it was ok. I love using them still
I'm happy with my heavy set. I did buy an 1/4 pound rope to warm up with before I went to the heavy ropes. I have had no issues with the handles grinding yet. Perhaps a dry lub like graphite would be better than bike oil?
…the 1/4 pound is great for warm up and even if you wanna do a workout just for fun, without “killing it”. I probably used to much oil, I haven’t had that issue anymore.

hello Heiko. these crossropes are great, I agree but they are expensive and buying them in Europe are much more expensive. can you please recommend me a cheaper alternative to these sets? Otherwise I will try to make my own set by muself from heavy cables.
Hi, I absolutely agree, it is a lot of money. Still I recomment checking Amazon or the offers on internet in general, you might find some much cheaper offers for Crossrope. Then there is Everjump, a German brand which popped up recently (check out my videos). They ship from Germany (you can use the code "HEIKO15" for a 15% discount) Making your own weighted system is a cheap idea too. I did it, but I must admit that those heavier ropes (wires), I used the coated ones, are much less flexible and I always had trouble to learn the crossover jump. Then suddenly after I received the Crossrope set - I was able to do the crossover after only a few days, thanks to more flexibility of the ropes. You can always order the smallest set or even just the handles with a 125g rope to get started - which is cheaper than buying a complete set were you don't need 2-3 ropes at all. That is my take on this. I hope I could help.
@@adventurelover6955 I thought about that too but to get an easy to use connection piece done is more the problem. Maybe I'll make a video about how I made my own heavy rope. In the end, considering time and headache you might be better off to buy the handles and your first rope and get started. smile
I’d use graphite powder.... it’ll last a longgg time. Don’t use oil... the oil will seep out and make everything sticky... the oil will also eat away at the handle coating.
I have a wiretype speed rope and find myself constantly tripped. That gives me bad experience. Would the entry level (get lean) Cross rope help you think? /
When I started jumping rope, I used a speedrope too, fortunately it came with a very thin rope and a slightly thicker one - I used the thicker one because I had the same issue. After purchasing the weighted ropes I noticed that due to the higher weight of the rope I had better feedback from the rope which resulted in less tripping. Simply because you know exactly where the rope is in its position around you. Same for crossover jumps - straight much better, less tripping and more control. At least that is my experience. Please note I'm NOT payed by Crossrope to tell you that. Just saying. If you consider buying - look for offers outside crossropes website, sometimes you might find a really good one and you can safe some money. Good luck!
I wouldńt get the get lean-set as a beginner (and I did) as they are not adjustable. After having used the ropes, the ropes were pretty fast to long. And getting an extra set of smaller ropes + shipping, gets pretty expensive.
Glad if I can contribute in decision making. I've seen the RushAthletic's rope, I mean the weighted one, but haven't seen it in real yet. What I don't like is that the handle flairs out towards the end, that's my personal opinion of course. And the "exchange-system" seems like the same type as Everjump is using, which works fine but there are two minor issues with that: 1. the entire construction is about 1 cm longer from the front of the handle to the start of the rope which is changing the geometry...., and puts more stress on ones forearm (I have Everjumps set here and Crossropes and use both to compare) 2. After several month's of testing both systems, huff, I must admit...., Crossropes clip-system is clear the better one. It is easier to handle when in stress in short interval workouts and makes less noise and puts less stress on your forearms.
@@werdup3000 Do you mean the 2lb rope? Don't know for sure, 30 sec!? I still don't use it in my workouts. I ripped off the bizeps tendon in my left arm 2009 at work and have a screw in there. If I go to hard with heavy ropes I'll be in pain for days.
i agree that handles look terrible; the fact that you can't add weight to them is a deal breaker to me; also i would like to be able to adjust the thickness of the handler, i don't want to be holding sticks, i'd like something thicker; i'm sticking to my decathlon thick rope that has weights :(
Moin, moin!
Well, actually you don't need to buy different handles for heavier or lighter ropes. If you are happy with the slim handles - you are fine. Still for larger hand sizes I think the thicker handles might be more comfy. The two different types of handles are inside their sets - I think that indicates to use the slim ones for those 3 more light weight ropes (still 3 different ropes) and the larger handles for the more heavier ones (2 ropes) If you'd buy one pair of handles and feel comfy with them you can use ALL ropes with that one - regardless the weight. O course if you want to look at those two different handles from a negative point of view - you could think it's made for more business. Still, I'd say Crossrope offers two different shaped handles for different hand sizes.
@@BobBob-uv9fq Yes, exactly. You can buy everything separately if you want or you just by the smallest set, and build up from there. Don't forget to check the free market, google search and amazon - often you'll find good offers there.

Perfect, in this case you save a lot of money and that's good for you. The purpose of my video was btw. not to sell anything here - I don't earn money on my channel - the purpose was to tell ppl my experience and to help them to make a decision wether or not they should buy. I have been using a 18,- rope for a long time and was super happy with it and I know many jump rope ppl who use ropes in that price range for their workouts and to learn tricks - that's personal preference. Enjoy your workouts!
You're going to get bored with a $10 rope if you're not already. The ropes ARE professional grade that are easy to use AND challenging at the same time, especially the weighted ropes 3/4lb and above. I know the price is steep, but the experience, function, and the effects the rope have on your body, makes them very awesome ropes you will quickly get over the price, once you give yourself 1.5 months to try out.
You might be right. In the meantime I purchased a medium sized one too but I feel more comfortable with the longer one. Can't do a crossover with the medium but with the large one.
well, English is not my first language, maybe I failed in my explanation. I agree on that in order to built heavy muscle mass you'd need to use heavy weights, reps between 6-10 in body building (what I eager did in the 90') Still today, using heavy ropes I experience a much better overall development of my "complete" muscle system, because of "teamwork" of all muscles together during the workout - compare to much more selective targeting of single muscles when using heavy weights in a GYM or using a machine in the GYM which. My chest area (for example) did benefit from my weighted rope workouts. (Especially from crossover jumps with heavy ropes) The result is not a "massive" chest, but a better, more complete developed chest area and, not to forget..., because of this, I could ramp up my push ups, got better in hand stand push ups and other things. In my daily workouts, body weight exercises, I still have small weights (10 kg) here which I barely use, but when I use them, then doing very slow reps. Anyway - using WEIGHTED ropes is much more than a superlative exercise for cardio - it complements the development of the entire muscle system of your body. Yet, using weighted ropes only will not give you a physic like a heavy weight body builder - I agree on that.
@@binslick1000 As I tried to explain in my previous reply, you are right in that way. Still as an additional type of workout targeting the entire core and heavily targeting ALL muscles of your upper body, shoulders, arms in order to balance the impact of the heavy rope - the effect is priceless and you'll strengthen (steel) your body in a way a barbell could never do. Again - I absolutely agree on that workouts with ONLY heavy ropes will not grow you a huge amount of muscles like a body builder - but will get you closer to look like Bruce Lee. It just depends on what you want.

Then there is Everjump, a German brand which popped up recently (check out my videos). They ship from Germany (you can use the code "HEIKO15" for a 15% discount)
Making your own weighted system is a cheap idea too.
@@heikokuehr many thanks!
@@heikokuehr I should find the appropriate elastic material from aliexpress and make my rope with that.. but I dont know how to find it.
@@adventurelover6955 I thought about that too but to get an easy to use connection piece done is more the problem. Maybe I'll make a video about how I made my own heavy rope.
In the end, considering time and headache you might be better off to buy the handles and your first rope and get started. smile
@@heikokuehr thanks :)
Wow... okkk... that's a big bad mother effer got me laughing...😁😁
Great review...
I agree, I ordered a shorter sized rope for me too after a few months
Thank you very much for a great review! I'm going to buy a set.
Any take on rushathletics's rope?
Glad if I can contribute in decision making. I've seen the RushAthletic's rope, I mean the weighted one, but haven't seen it in real yet.
What I don't like is that the handle flairs out towards the end, that's my personal opinion of course. And the "exchange-system" seems like the same type as Everjump is using, which works fine but there are two minor issues with that:
1. the entire construction is about 1 cm longer from the front of the handle to the start of the rope which is changing the geometry...., and puts more stress on ones forearm (I have Everjumps set here and Crossropes and use both to compare)
2. After several month's of testing both systems, huff, I must admit...., Crossropes clip-system is clear the better one. It is easier to handle when in stress in short interval workouts and makes less noise and puts less stress on your forearms.
@@heikokuehr Thank you very much!
I love Rush Athletics money rope
Vielen Dank Heiko
That 2lber is no joke
LMAO! No it is not.
@@heikokuehr how long can you keep rotation?
@@werdup3000 Do you mean the 2lb rope? Don't know for sure, 30 sec!?
I still don't use it in my workouts.
I ripped off the bizeps tendon in my left arm 2009 at work and have a screw in there. If I go to hard with heavy ropes I'll be in pain for days.
@@heikokuehr Yikes! im pretty happy with the 1/2 lber....keep on skipping, skipper!
i agree that handles look terrible; the fact that you can't add weight to them is a deal breaker to me; also i would like to be able to adjust the thickness of the handler, i don't want to be holding sticks, i'd like something thicker; i'm sticking to my decathlon thick rope that has weights :(
Adding weight to handles is stupid though it doesn’t provide any benefit.
What size do you recommend for a person who is 178 cm tall ?
Size "L" should be perfect
Sehr nice
Wo bestellt und was nachbezahlt? Zoll, Einfuhrsteuer bla bla....
Moin, moin!
@@heikokuehr Danke dir 👊🏻
👌🏼🤚🏼👌🏼
I found same crossrope on Aliexpress for 30$
What’s the point of interchangeable handles if u have to buy for heavier ropes / I c the point for the seller they make more money
Well, actually you don't need to buy different handles for heavier or lighter ropes.
If you are happy with the slim handles - you are fine.
Still for larger hand sizes I think the thicker handles might be more comfy.
The two different types of handles are inside their sets - I think that indicates to use the slim ones for those 3 more light weight ropes (still 3 different ropes) and the larger handles for the more heavier ones (2 ropes)
If you'd buy one pair of handles and feel comfy with them you can use ALL ropes with that one - regardless the weight.
O course if you want to look at those two different handles from a negative point of view - you could think it's made for more business.
Still, I'd say Crossrope offers two different shaped handles for different hand sizes.
@@heikokuehr ok so I could say buy handgrips with the lighter rope set ,then could order the heavier ropes on their own with no handles?
@@BobBob-uv9fq Yes, exactly. You can buy everything separately if you want or you just by the smallest set, and build up from there.
Don't forget to check the free market, google search and amazon - often you'll find good offers there.
@@heikokuehr lol I have been starting to consistently skip ,I am pretty active anyway ,but I have literally lost about 6/8 pounds in 3 wks ,I need to eat more
@@BobBob-uv9fq I'd think that's a good result, depending on what your goal is.
Diet is very important. Our body is like a high end machine. It needs the right mixture of fuel to run properly. heheheh
Don't forget to warm up, stretch and rest.
Good luck and keep jumping!
I hope rope jumping make my legs as gorgeous as yours.
why there is a pot there? XD
Hahahahahaha, you are the first one mentioning that tea pot, LOL
Got it on a flee market and didn't know where to put it - so it ended up as decoration up there.
This product Is fantastic but too expensive!
Well...., you are right. It is expensive.
If you want to try I can only suggest to check the free internet market (Amazon) or to hunt for special offers with a promo code OR to order a pair of handles and a rope separately, that would be a good start and affordable.
@@heikokuehr ordered the get fit set and will be arriving on thursday, i got mine with a £40 discount
@@andyetheridge Hi Andy, that sounds great! Thursday, only one more day to go - enjoy!
Let me know how you like it..., after 4 weeks or so.
I like my $10 rope a lot better.
I know the price is steep, but the experience, function, and the effects the rope have on your body, makes them very awesome ropes you will quickly get over the price, once you give yourself 1.5 months to try out.
that rope is way to long
You might be right. In the meantime I purchased a medium sized one too but I feel more comfortable with the longer one. Can't do a crossover with the medium but with the large one.
Jumping rope does NOT increase muscle mass. It is a superlative exercise for cardio conditioning.
well, English is not my first language, maybe I failed in my explanation.
I agree on that in order to built heavy muscle mass you'd need to use heavy weights, reps between 6-10 in body building (what I eager did in the 90')
Still today, using heavy ropes I experience a much better overall development of my "complete" muscle system, because of "teamwork" of all muscles together during the workout - compare to much more selective targeting of single muscles when using heavy weights in a GYM or using a machine in the GYM which.
You even jump bro ?
It's not the same performing a set of barbell curls as opposed to swinging a heavy rope.
