  • The 102-foot Aqua Cat has room for up to 30 guests offering amenities for diving in the Exuma Cays, Bahamas. Built for a smooth ride, the Aqua Cat Catamaran travels from one island to another to check the most exciting dive sites. The Exuma Sound has more advanced, deeper dives where pelagic species and reef sharks roam. The entire experience is an exploration of little-touched sites, just as nature intended. It feels as if there is a new surprise awaiting at every turn.
    One famous drift dive in the Bahamas is called the “Washing Machine”.
    This site is for divers who are looking for high levels of excitement.

      If you try the Aquacat, I doubt you are going back to the others. I met people who had that exact experience from both trips. They said that they will never go back to Blackbeard’s. The luxury cabins, the dining salon and the living space on the Aquacat make a big difference. The cost is the only discouraging factor :) It just keeps going up every year. They are booked very early as well.

      @KarimLounesDiving  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the comment. I didn't see a lot of coral bleaching. The crew was telling us that a lot of it died along the years. We didn't see the bleaching on these sites. The island does a good job for the protection as well. The Exuma Cays are not easily accessible, and they don't have humans living on them, I guess there is less damage, but they still are vulnerable to the pollution coming from the continent.

      Hello Rotti. Thank you. I tried all sort of things, but the best option was to use the services of prescriptiondivemasks.com/
      You send them your mask and your prescription and they make the magic happen. It’s a bit expensive, but way more stable and robust. I have had this mask for 4 years anyways. In a year or two I will send them another mask to add the lenses to. You can also buy the mask from them in case you don’t have one. Hope this helps.

    May I know what month was this trip? I only have 3mm full and want to dive there in Feb but everyone suggests 5mm full is minimum

      @KarimLounesDiving  Год назад

      I was there on September. People who were there said that it is a bit chillier in February and March, but they did not mention a 5 mil. It all depends on several parameters. If you don't get tolerate cold, and you will swim very slowly, and make several dives per day, you may want a 5 mm as a backup. If you can tolerate some cold, and you will be moving a lot, doing drift dives, fighting the current a bit, and not making th enight dives, then I think a 3 mm will suffice. I am a big guy, I dove with a swim shirt the entire trip whereas some folks has a shorty and others some 2 mm wetsuits. Hope this helps.

    Hows this boat for solo travelers/divers?

    • @KarimLounesDiving
      @KarimLounesDiving  Месяц назад

      I was a solo traveler on this boat when making this video. The group was so good, it felt like a family after just one day together. If your question is about diving solo, I am not sure exactly how it works , but you certainly are tied to a schedule since you won't be able to dive while the boat is moving from a site to another. There always are dive guides who ask divers if people are going to follow or just dive as buddies on their own. Divers need to get back on time obviously so they can move the boat to the next dive site. As long as you follow the guide, you don't have to have a specific buddy, I guess. You may shoot them the question via their agency's site: Search Allstar Liveaboards.
