You should do a more advanced strategy vid for DoM. There's quite a lot of beginners stuff on RUclips but nothing much for people who have played it loads already.
Never new spring was the best time for fishing, although makes sense!

Funny you mention that. I was going to do a guide with tips for surviving hardcore/northlands mode, but when I started playing again the barbarians kicked my ass. 😅 Maybe the devs made it harder since launch? But thank you for the idea, I will give it another try. :D

@@magesalmanac6424 I know what you mean! I normally stick to continental dawn or mod maps. The amount of times I've lovingly nursed a village through dozens of winters to watch them get all murdered by the bastards with bronze.
I build little 'forts' around my villages now, 9x9 of guard towers surrounded by a wall. With desposable unmanned guard towers for early warning further out. It's irritating rebuilding the early warning towers all the time, but it's beats burying half the village every couple of years 😁.

I pick 3 spots with 2 holes each and move the fishing back and forth as the fish deplete. I do the same with mud but I use 2 spots until eveything is upgraded
