This song means so much to me. I lost my loved one, but she didn't passed away. However, something died inside me when we broke apart. Hearing this song is my personal homage to what I once felt for her.
That guy on the left looks almost identical to Nathaniel Rateliff (another great beard and artist) overall great session, I'm new to Cardinal sessions and so far I am in love... Great video
No offense taken, to each their own and all that. Some might say having a lego cartoon game character as a profile pic is juvenile and "cringy" as well... we just don't feel the need to be immature and call others out on it is all ;) Have a great rest of your day.
+Stephanie Fretwell Like +Adam Hargreaves said, it's a Brass Cornet, for beginners and intermediate players there really is no difference between a trumpet and cornet, they have very similar sound capabilities at the lower levels of experience :) Cornets have a warmer sound to them typically.
Hey Stephanie - that's me at the back! and I can confirm it is a cornet. If you unraveled it, the tube length would be the same as a trumpet, but cornets are wound round an extra time. Also the trumpet's tubing is straight until it gets bigger at the bell (cylindrical bore) whereas a cornet gets gradually bigger as it goes along (cylindrical bore, same as flugelhorns and tubas) which gives it a softer sound. They are used more in marching bands and stuff. I prefer them!
Whatever you or anyone says about me, my channel or my comments won't change my perception man :)))) we can go on for hours and hours about this I really don't care. There is just too much hipster going on but hey, why not right? And If my opinion hurt your feelings I`m sorry...
+Loris Pignoletti a tad late, but may I suggest listening with your ears and not your eyes 👀? To each their own, but how they look has nothing to do with how they sound.
You guys just have this stupid thing going on that every fucking band that has a banjo wants to become Mumford and Sons. Bear's Den sounds nothing like them and it is just as great, learn to apreciate

I found this around the time I lost my first dog. I miss him so much. I wish I gave him more time.
The most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. I listen to it every couple of months. It moves me to tears.
This was recorded in a fucking park and sounds very similar to the studio version. Amazing
Ikr 😍
They are my favorite band right now.
They are The Men in their genre. I think the same. Such a quality sound, great voices, and the cornet!
This live version is better in my opinion!
@@cindyre85 how about now 4 years latter :-D

A thing of great beauty.
Goddamn this song is sad.
By the way, the Cardinal sessions are solid. Every performance sounds great.
Met these gents at the Edward Sharpe Big Top in LA several years ago, and hands down some of the nicest people ever.

That fuckin horn my god
Love the tune!!! First time hearing Bear's Den - Wow. What's the acoustic picking pattern?? Just can't quiet get it...
They actually posted a tutorial on RUclips on how to play this song! It’s super helpful and he breaks down the picking pattern.
pretty amazing guys, I'm what you hoped to achieve i guess - maybe lol. WOW yeh be watching practice ha ha. A+
anyone know what specific instrument the guy in the back plays? it looks a bit short to be a regular trumpet but im not familiar with them all.
+Stephanie Fretwell it's a brass cornet
