- SNES "100%" Mega Man X (USA v1.1) in 33:58.87 by Desmond Meredith (dezbeast).
Tool Assisted - these games are played using a emulator at super slow speeds and save states. The goal is to provide entertainment by showing off game glitches and beating the game as fast as possible.
- Aims for fastest time
- Items: 100%
- Uses death as shortcut
- Takes damage to save time
- Abuses programming errors in the game
- Manipulates luck

I just realized something: X's walk home at the end of this game mirrors Mega Man's walk home at the end of his first game, except that one was a sunset, while this one was a sunrise. Interesting.
Happy 23th Birthday, Megaman X
Mazin X tas the easy
Thirth?
@@PrismaticGeyserr lol I read it the same way
the music brings you to the height of old school gaming

visible proof of TAS
hack
I notice here too XD

SOOO NOSTALGICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
The ENTP Baaaaaattoooola
Seeing how speedrun has evolved, is cool to see this dude still not that slow on his speedrun
truly a gamer
The fact that I beat this game when I was 10 years old without the haduken im just like shit, I was fucking good
Then there's the good low% runners who beat This game in 31:xx and get no upradges nor hearts or tanks.
I call bullshit on Boomer Kuwanger's heart tank. I tried that at least 120,000 times as a kid.
well it has a trick to how to do it and i know it
You can get it easily by using the boomerang
well, the fact is that we were talking about getting the heart tank just by wall jumping
I always used to replay the stage and use the boomer to get it. But then I found out you are supposed to charge the ice shot and get it that way.
But then there is this way. Super hard to do, but CalebHart42 pulls it off all the time so it is possible.
HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU CAN HIT KILL BOSSES WITH THE HADOUKEN!!!!!!!!
Abner Cestari o
I never discovered the hadouken
the wall jumping runs, like 6:24 to 6:28, are always so satisfying to watch.
He used the movie description. Always a good thing to check as you clearly don't know what you have been watching.
Working on being a mega man x speed runner myself. One of my favorite games of all time
James Robinette
Work on getting a sex life with a willing partner.
TheZahnFactor *Salty much?*
Sex-less and reality-less much?
TheZahnFactor So is sex everything for you.....pity, also great comeback dude ( *sarcasm* )
TheZahnFactor if you think sex is more important than just "stupid speed running" why are you watching this video and if you dont waste your time with morons why are you commenting too
He didn't miss it, just waited to grab it. And the reason he died was to get the Hadouken powerup, which requires you to reach the end of the level multiple times until the capsule spawns.
Totally owned Sting Chameleon. daym.
Not bad! The WR is 36:40 as of now and the runner Caleb Hart is just crazy!
6:23- :6:31 i tried that every time but failed so hard
+Zero Kun It's a TAS (tool assisted speedrun) :)
This can be done without TAS it's just super difficult
I love when people burst into comment sections in this manner, completely wrong and yet so self-assured.
Best megaman game ever!
No lol
@@arevalo8117 yes mmx is the best
I played this game SOO much in the 90's and I never heard or knew about the Haudukin. Seems pretty OP.
26:51 was this real? the boss beat in just one punch. Amazing.
There is hadouken in MMX
+Henry Kurniawan You can get the Hadouken by doing a decently obscure thing. Obviously, it's a Street Fighter reference and it 1 hits all bosses except for Sigma's final form.
*****
well thank you
ZRandomGaming
wow thanks man
That ending alone is way more awesome and deep than most games nowadays.
I just imagine if that was the actual canon story speed X took to complete the game.
Perfectly timed shots, practically turbo. Something that is very easy to do in a Tool Assisted Speedrun.
it took me forever to kill the last bosses and whe only shoots once and they die WTF
It's the last upgrade he get.
Its easter egg upgrade = Hadouken from street fighter (Ryu's special ability)
It 1 shots everything.
ok its beacuse i have the SNES version
Doritos Man In the Megaman Maverick Hunter X (Remake of this game with better graphics) You had to see the capsule that gives Hadouken 5 times with full health i think.
It's in armored armadillo stage upside of the boss door. theres a empty area
after 5th look die again and it appears a capsule: Dr.Light (In ryu from street fighter costume) tells some pretty ridicolous stuff like (Your body is machine but your spirit is human ^_^ learn how to shoot fireballs! ''Not like Mario X! like Ryu....'') And then you go in and get upgraded your hands get upgraded and you can now do hadouken! :D good luck and have fun! ^3^
Anyway ths player skips everything, hearts, and else... I didnt see he got the hadouken upgrade, video is nice, but it´s not 100% real.
Joesalinasyabar It is 100% real :P
Play the remake even i got the hadouken upgrade... and im the worst at it lol XD
To get the Hadouken upgrade you have to visit a specific area several times. The fastest way to revisit it is to die.
It's a TAS everyone, TOOL ASSISTED SPEEDRUN.
Goddamn nobody reads the description these days.
that part at around 6:00 where you matched the music was the best part
autofire is not legit for speedruns
it's TAS so any sort of input is going to be optimized
It's legal in TAS runs, which this run clearly states to be
Agreed. Might as well throw in a cheat for invincibility while you're at it.
greyprepper Please do yourself a favor, and read up what a TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) really is. It will save you some dumb comments later.
An easter egg the guys at Capcom snuck in. In Megaman X2, you can get the shoryuken! And it is also a boss-killer.
This is a Tool-assisted speedrun
Zeta Gamer #TeamSpinner I REALLY wish they would include this in the title :/
Jack Dowd Yeah because reading the description is WAY too much work...
It says it at the beginning
You should have credited the one who actually made this Tool Assisted Speedrun, which is mentioned in the description.
Rogueyoshi had no part into making this run.
super juegazo,,,,,,,de los mejores para siempre,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,xd
A TAS is a different kind of speedrun with different rulings. If you follow these rules, you aren't cheating as everything done is allowed. If you compare a bike race to a running marathon, the bikers aren't cheating because they use a bike instead of running, as they are two different sports.
I fully respect you prefering real time runs though, I personally love both. If you want to see such runs I would recommend the site SpeedRunsLive. Great live speedruns daily!
WTF is this? You made megaman look like sonic. That was an amazing run!!
He isnt god or something haha read the description =P
Holy shit. I never knew you could pull off that kinda shit with the boomerang cutter.
Haduken? tramposo.
v: es un easter egg
Es obligatorio el hadouken para hacerlo al 100%
Si no lo consigues solo tendras un 99.9% :P
Holy crap, he bypassed Zero & Vile's script at the Boss stage 1. Good job!!
i enjoy watching him charge through and take damage like it aint no thang. hella confidence
26:10 Something special seeing Mega Man hadoken a purple Boba Fett ftw! Nerdgasm
lol x spamming those fireballs. great run man, a lot of skill and timing
@ 33:46
X: Die please...
*Hadouken*
Sigma: Not this time...
*Anti-Hadouken*
My most favorite mega man game. I just loved it when growing up.
it's a TAS (tool asisted speed run) the guy uses tools as turbo, save states and speed reduction to beat a game in the shortest time posible within the game limitations themselves (not using paswords or gameshark codes) TAS runs are not meant to display ability at a game, its basically entertainment.
Well, the goal of a TAS is to see how fast a game can be beaten when everything is perfect. Some like it, some don't =).
If you want to see great runs done on console, I recommend the MMX series leaderboards found here: megamanrta.wikia. com/wiki/Leaderboards_X-series
Brings back memories. God damn it when you got the dash ability...!
@firenutz698 Which you can do if you take damage before. Because of RUclips's framerate you can't see that Mega Man is blinking after he gets hit, but he is invincible for a short while.
Nothing fake with this TAS.
He grabs it at 24:05.
And in order to get the Hadouken powerup you have to die a few times where the powerup is.
All the SNES Megamans (to my knowledge) had secret upgrades with Street Fighter moves in them.
I don't understand the multiple deaths and skipping the heart on armored armadillo. Is it a glitch or luck manipulation?
Perfect!!!!! i play Mega Man X since i am a kid and i'm great, but i never see your speed with "delete the mavericks so fast!!! ". Soo Smart use the ice bar to a support to make the hadu ken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
those epic speedrun tool skills tho
Lol you did not read "Tool-Assisted" at the beginning. The game was still beaten, and this video is living proof.
"I played through the last part of the level 3 times (required for hadoken weapon)" From the authors page describing this tas.
Dude, seriously? Read the description. This is a TAS, it's a tool-assisted speedrun, not a real-time speedrun. The game is pushed to its limits with nearly frame-perfect timing using savestates and slowdown to produce a series of inputs that an emulator simply plays back on top of the game to make a seamless, epic video like this. No cheats or game editing used at all - it's meant to show the peak of player performance if possible.
TAS runs of game are neat and all, like seeing how the player can work the physics of the game in their favor every time. But wouldn't it be cooler to see a REAL speedrun? It just seems like no one does a real speedrun anymore.
Couldn't you theoretically skip getting the buster upgrade in flame mammoth's stage, since zero gives it to you in sigma's stage if you dont pick it up then?
It is the currently fastest TAS. The console WR is 36:40 I believe.
Didn't know what hit em, shoutouts to Ansatsuken and the trade mark move that destroys Brobots...
Hadouken!
this is how X would play his own game.
por si no entendiste, Siquiera sabes lo que estás viendo? Sabes cuál es el propósito de los Tas (Tool Assisted Speedrun (Partida Rápida Asistida con Herramientas de facilitamiento de juego)) Aquí no hay Hacks
it's not a hack, it's all skill. I'm good at this game but this dude is damn good! Great show!
This is just an average Tuesday in Japan.
Chill Penguin was the only level and boss I could ever beat when I played this as a kid. The others were simply impossible to me
Later in the video he dies 2 more times on that stage. It's part of getting hadouken, though I've never seen someone do it this way before.
By god you MURDERED those bosses...
You know... There is a movie description for a reason. Read and learn what you have been watching.
Neither hack or cheat however.
The buster might seem a little stronger because he's dashing at very small intervals. Try it the next time you play Megaman X - dashing will make your shots a little stronger. I'm not sure if it works for the Maverick weapons or charge shots, but at the very least the 'lemons' do 2 damage instead of 1.
@Tomtelala Yes he knows that. hes dissapointed that shoryuken wasnt in MMX
6:00 is the most badass thing ever
But you don't entirely need the Hadouken to beat the last few bosses.
In order, the weaknesses are:
1. Shotgun Ice
2. Electric Spark
3. Rolling Shield
And according to Egoraptor, the climb before the final boss has these infinitely spawning caterpillar things that you can just kill with charged Rolling Shield and just slide over them and go "BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM" until your tanks are refilled and you can take on Sigma again.
my childhood is this game.. ✊✊✊✊
The most joy of the game is to use the.suit weapon with the right boss
I did get the joke :).
No runs at SDA are TASes however. That is actually how good they play. Things like turbo controllers are banned as well.
SDA only hosts console runs and TASvideos only TASes.
I think you don't know what movie descriptions are.
were you using something for the blaster? I like this so much.
Even without the fireball, X should be nicknamed "Hadouken".
Because he's "Down-Right Fierce".
(:D AHA!)
Thanks Capcom for this Rlly Good Game, you're the gods of Making Games.
In order:
1. "First first"? Anywho, the secret move's requirements is have everything, (including FULL subtanks) and fall in that pit 5 times. Yes, dying is a requirement.
2. Hilarious Street Fighter Easter egg Hadouken can only be fired when you have full health, summoned with the famous down, forward, shot. Disappears when you power off your system and cannot be brought back via password
It doesn't mean you cheated. A TAS is just a completely different speedrun, with different rules. If you follow these rules, you aren't cheating.
It's like comparing a live performance of a band and a recording on a CD. Where the live performance is the "real" run and the CD is "cheated" run. They are just made in a different way.
What's with all the dying around 15:30? I thought Tool Assisted runs exploited savestates and emulator tricks? Is the player accomplishing something by dying horribly so as to shave off attoseconds?
To get the hadoken upgrade at the end, you have to have died in that area 7 times or so.
I think if more people bothered to read the video description and found out how this was done on an emulator at super slow speed and using save states, this video would be less liked. Doing something like this on a real SNES would be way more impressive.
So many memories with this game
what was the point of dying twice in the armored armadillo stage and missing the heart and hadouken?
In order to get Hadouken, you need to visit the end of the level several times, which is why he died. And the heart was collected later.
How it is done? In which minute can I see? Thx
Shots do more damage if you dash when shooting. This is not a hacked version and no cheats are used.
He's reading the movie description =).
Never knew about that heart at 7:47 and I've beaten this game a million times lol.
I know you listed it, but..why did you have to suicide yourself in that one stage?? I don't get it
Actually, Boomerang Cutter.
My mistake.
X: i didnt need u zero
Zero: .....
Might want to check out the movie description.
Movie description is there for a reason. Follow the link for more information.
The any% TAS is under 30, yes, but this is a 100% run which is obviously longer.
And there are no real time runs that are under 30 minutes for this game.
6:00 shooting in sync with the music
Ninja! All the mechs are like "wtf just passed by"
Damn, finding a Mega Man X speedrun is hard. Tiki's 32:56 or something was the fastest I've found so far, and he messed up at a few parts. Hmm...
what an epic game i actually never finished it as a kid i never found all the sub tanks and it ended up being impossible to even get to sigma.. im about to go out and buy a SNES and try and find a megaman x and crush this game
dont get why he keeps dying from that pink rolling wagon with spikes at around 15:20, someone can explain?
That stage of the run i called "visits". In order to get the hadoken, you have to see that health capsule on the top right, right before the boss fight multiple times. Notice that eventually a capsule appears and that's how he gets the hadoken. You don't have to die, but you have to do those visits, and dying and respawning happens to be the fastest way to accomplish that
+stropheum thank you very much
stropheum What confused me is that I always thought you had to collect the health capsule. Guess I was wrong
The music in this game reminds me a lot of the music from UN Squadron.
