I am one of a group of EV taxi drivers and lots had problems with the 12V battery. The battery died. In my newer (2022) Hyunday Kona they add a cable from the big battery to the 12V battery and i see almost every time I'm not using the car the yellow light on that indicates the big battery is helping the 12V battery. If it's not so complicated you could install this thing in your car. It's probably not so easy but don't know.
interesting, most likely it is traversing a DC-DC Converter that steps down the high voltage from the battery pack down to something like 14.3 volts to trickle charge the regular car battery
🏃♂️ 🏃🏽 🏃🏻♀️ still having trouble getting the Zombie to run! Status is now Potpressed but T15stat is on and off by ignition key. The opmode remains off when the starter is activated (power is going to pin 52). I have watched Damien’s and your videos and think it might have something to do with the throttle settings in parameters but am at a loss!😊 Ps I bought this Zombie off a person who abandoned it but populated it with their setting!!!
@@Ghia66 you should have Ignition on on pin 15 and momentary start switch as minimum. Ignition should be permanently on and start switch pressed and released
think of the ISA shunt as a current sensor on steroids, it itself does not provide and protection it just measures volts and amps off the negative lead, I think it is optional but nice to have. The Safety Box = 2 contactors + 1 relay + 1 resistor
@@Good-Enuff-Garage Looks like I might need to get one. I like the idea of an all in unit like the 330 battery you are using (no cobbling together different parts and all in a handy box)…am I right in thinking that it wouldn’t need a ISA shunt?
if you are thinking of getting a BMW Hybrid battery pack than look for July 2019 or newer as they are the same physical size but larger AH kWh capacity, and they can be found in the BMW 330e, 530e, 740e and X5. The BMW Safety Box is a complete contactor solution, the ISA shunt is just a current sensor, the S-Box comes with it's own current sensor soldered to it's circuit board.
Love the cameo from Damien..very slick! 😊

This is interesting I am having the same issue. What do you have currently connected to VCU
@@LatutaEV Just a 13volt power supply and off/on/starter switch connected to the Zombie

So glad Ed chimed in, he is the first guy I thought of to get help 👍🏼
@@LatutaEV Yes it is all wired up correctly (56, ground, 15 & 52) and when I turn the switch key onto on it
Doing prep for your next class!
Is a ISA shunt (which I have but not a battery or safety box) can be used as a safety box for the practical? 😊
Just rewatched your part 2 safely box video and you mentioned ISA shunt can be used! 😂
connecting the BMW Safety Box (aka contactor box) to the DIY fuse block should be the next video
