Absolutely Cooper. I think we all realize your music store must put commercial concerns first, but I would have them consider the commercial value of bringing in a whole new market of people who come here to be entertained and of that a percentage who actually make a purchase from you. That Koa is phenomenal!
I’d vote for a more bling version of the mahogany guitars! They are usually very under appointment (relatively at least) but love the tone. So my vote to a deluxe modern deluxe
I vote for “old school-custom” Hard to beat rosewood/Sitka spruce. Not fancy add-in’s, just basic quality woods and construction 😎 Love the videos. Keep ‘em coming!
Cooper, always such mesmerizing playing. Love your choices of wood and your appointments but for my ear I'd still go for the triple 18 modern deluxe. Thank you for your comparison of pleasure always wins the album coming out Cooper. I can listen to you all day.🎶❤️
They are both great, but I stay with the modern deluxe! I have the standard version and love it. Very similar I think… nice playing. Be safe.. Cheers..
They both sounded beautiful and as always especially with your playing man. I love Martin guitars and the factory tour was a lot of fun too, I checked it out last year.
Cooper, for such a laid back guy you play with such intensity! I thank you. I like both. I have great mahogany and Adirondack Martin guitars, so I would take the Koa. I suggest old school. I love all classic neck, i.e. Clapton, CEO-7, D-18GE. Perhaps a 000 15sm, but the M is for MAPLE. Or, a1 13/16 or 1 7/8 neck, even on a typical 000 15sm. Consider.
A 00-18 modern deluxe would be right up my alley. An all mahogany (top as well) version with a 12 fret neck 1 3/4" nut and 2 1/4" saddle spacing would be hard to resist.
Cooper, I like the Koa better, but I want an 00-18GE with slotted headstock and sinker mahogany neck and block, VTS addy spruce top, rosewood binding, ebony bridge and board. Keep up the good work.
I have a 000-28e Modern Deluxe AND that NAMM Custom OMce Koa-Adirondack you voiced for me. I didn't like Koa sound until that one. I do alot of solo stuff. Thanks Cooper!
I prefer Modern Deluxe guitars in general. My favorite strats are American Deluxe(compound radius fretboard, 2-point trem, HSS). I like the Modern Les Pauls(Split coil pickup options, etc.) So a custom shop Modern Deluxe / inspired 000 would be perfect for me!
Does anyone know if there are Tabs for the demo pieces Cooper is playing here? I know the chords are fairly straightforward to figure out but all the hammer ons and cool variations and licks he plays would be awesome to learn!
The Koa model jumped out - because of the koa or other reasons? Not too much bling is exactly where I am too! Bring more in…. My absolute preference is an Martin OM or Taylor 814 builders edition.
Is there a 12 string of the mahogany with your V- ish neck as you like. I had a 1954 Hofner Dreadnought made in Germany and it was destroyed by my nephew at a bad gig. The sweetest of tone. Mahogany with Spruce. But I have never played a neck so sweet. I am 63 and at this point who knows about 64, but a day never goes by that I don’t think about that guitar.
The Deluxe for me : very woody with the right amount of attack and punch from the strings 👍 I’m not the guy that will buy a guitar on a command with some given specs. ALWAYS play a guitar before to buy it 😊
A short scale M-36 would help this old worker's hands and wrists find a really nice, worthwhile couch guitar. I wouldn't hate it if it was mahogany instead of rosewood. I'm totally sure that's not wayyy niche 😉
The koa was a bit punchier and brighter, and with more pronounced overtones. If I had the money I’d buy it over the modern deluxe because the koa is prettier. Sonically, I’d be happy to own either one. What direction should you go? I don’t know. Have you had any problem selling what you have? You and Chris are savvy guitarists and you both have your fingers on our pulses. Shabbat Shalom.
these model changes are fine, the more the merrier, but the names for the model changes dont inform one what different model changes so they are easily confused.
I’m not a huge koa fan, but the custom shop sounds much better to these old ears, don’t know if it’s the carbon fiber bridge plate in the modern deluxe that makes the difference.

Yes to that! Seems only Gibson dresses up mahogany like a prized tone wood!
Have a D-28 MD that I just love. How about a lefty from the custom shop?

Absolutely love the Martin sound. The 000 is amazing, the custom is over the top. I would love to have either

I have 000-28 modern deluxe, and it’s a rock star. I’d like to see you guys do vintage.
Man that koa looks so good! I think I like the sound of the mahogany better tho.
To answer your questions yes to both!
The KOA is beautiful but I like the sound of the 000-18 Modern Deluxe. Deeper Lows for me. Seems smoother to me.
They are both great, but I stay with the modern deluxe! I have the standard version and love it. Very similar I think… nice playing. Be safe.. Cheers..

Would like to see a 00-18MD. And a few lefty’s in stock.
MOAR TOAN!
Excellent comparison. The custom hit my soft spot. Cooper in Nazareth is a video I’d like to see.
I like the Modern Deluxe AND its neck profile. What about an Adirondack top, Walnut? In a 000? And maybe a 3-piece top?
Both guitars sound amazing, but Cooper's playing is so good any guitar is going to sound amazing.
I prefer the modern deluxe with additional appointments.
Cooper,
I like the Koa better, but I want an 00-18GE with slotted headstock and sinker mahogany neck and block, VTS addy spruce top, rosewood binding, ebony bridge and board. Keep up the good work.
Martin 000-18 modern deluxe please...even a parlor guitar! Coop you can do it torch inlay and off sets in lay or wood binding must have protein glue
Love the look and sound of the koa a little bit more than the md
the song is Cooper's fantastic "Golden Apple" with his amazing playing. Hey Cooper, where can we find a tab for it? such a great song
I prefer when you use exotic woods and weird combinations, then chris explains the sound and cooper plays. Best combo

Please get a 000/28 with wider spaced strings and maple binding Adirondack top and bracing, bling around the sound hole only. Thank you very much .
I like the mahogany for tone. The Koa is subtle but the low end is different.
Even knowing the koa version will change its sound over playing time, the hog one would be my choice on the spot. Both are great btw.

Would like to see an OM-18 with an adi top.
Keep your eyes open in February/March...

I’m not the guy that will buy a guitar on a command with some given specs.
ALWAYS play a guitar before to buy it 😊
000 koa is so beautiful guitar
Quick maybe, but never dirty! Surprisingly to me, the Koa seems to have some more sizzle.
A short scale M-36 would help this old worker's hands and wrists find a really nice, worthwhile couch guitar. I wouldn't hate it if it was mahogany instead of rosewood. I'm totally sure that's not wayyy niche 😉
Does anyone ever trade a 000 for the new model?
I prefer the sound of the Koa over the mahogany
I prefer the brighter tone of the koa.

The modern deluxe has a more even, full sound and the Koa is brighter and more distinct.
Did Coopdog just hit us with another Alamo classic
Well of course...that's what he do
these model changes are fine, the more the merrier, but the names for the model changes dont inform one what different model changes so they are easily confused.
Modern Deluxe ✅
Coop! You just can’t let those Liquid Metal pins go! Like a moth to a flame, yer just asking for another roastin! 😂

I liked the sound of the OOO KOA, but couldn't find it in the lineup on your website (looking for a price)

More yamaha content!!
Go for satin finish! I’d love to see it on more Martin
Whew two guitars…. I thought I was just stoned
Hey Coop - You’ve been wearing that shirt for weeks. Time for a shower huh? 😂😂
Less is more
