When I lived in Lafayette louisiana, I spent a lot of time in New Iberia for weekly bowling tournaments. I remember driving by the arby's, and seeing all of the cop cars and tape and lights, which looked a lot like the scene of the Grand theater shooting in Lafayette back in 2015, so I obviously knew that something really bad had happened. When I found out about the faulty freezer door and the death of Lee, I was actually at the bowling alley in new iberia, I was so fucking livid, and I remember screaming, disrupting a bunch of the bowlers. And of course, there won't be any actual jail time for this shit. For business owners, a fine for murdering employees is just the cost of doing business.
I spent a couple hours in the gym sauna a week and constantly think about getting trapped. It has a handlebar and if someone stuck a broomstick in it you wouldn't be able to get out. Plan A is try to disconnect the sauna if that is even possible. But someone would pass by before you would melt... Hopefully. I've put some thought into this lol
As someone who is dyslexic who was in specialized education for people with learning disabilities and who was abused (physically, thankfully) at school, I feel really bad for that guy who got caught between the fences. Abuse at centres for people with learning and behavioural disabilities is incredibly common - and it was even worse prior to the 2010s when attitudes about neurodivergent kids was more hostile...I think I read a stat somewhere that kids with LDs are something like 9 times more likely to be physically abused and 14 times more likely to be s*xually abused than other kids, though that was a stat from the late 90s that may not be true anymore.
Dear God, that is a vile statistic and I hope it is no longer the case. I am so terribly sorry that you met some of the vilest among us. The fact you are grateful that your abuse was physical made me incredibly sad. I hope you're doing well and have good people in your life. Take care, stay safe and all the very very best 😊

Being trapped in a garbage chute reminds me of how chimney sweep companies in the industrial age used to use children, because they were small. OO And once they got a certain size, there were reports of kids that got stuck in the chimneys and died in a similar way. It is never a good idea to enter these things. *Edit* Its awful what happened to the poor guy :( I thought he had climbed in for whatever reason, but no, he was shoved down there by a man that appeared to be friendly.

For the last one. If you don’t have a spotter, and especially if you’re alone, leave the weights on one end of the bar unlocked. That way you can free yourself a lot easier in case of an emergency, by tipping the bar to the side and letting the weights slide off.
Poor Liam, I've heard of people taking in down and outers and having a drink together and getting in a bit of a scuffle then the person being kicked out of the house, but that was bloody murder through and through. Liam needed a bed and a mate and got that instead.
The being stuck in a walk in freezer case always freaked me out. What could you do?? All i can think is to make almost a fort/house out of cardboard all over you and curl up tight... but then again in -18 degrees that wouldnt do much ☹️ Would occasional hard workouts warm you up or be detrimental? 🤔
My friend died when I was in kindergarten when we had a spaghetti dinner at the school with our parents… while they were talking we all went to the gym and were running back and forth…. There were gym doors on a track and someone.. (assuming the gym teacher)…. Put a block of wood outside the door to hold the button that closes it up… so he didn’t have to hold the button ….. she tripped and because no one was near the button at the time… we had no idea it was gonna close…. She had her neck crushed by that door and they closed the entire school down because of it….. for years…. They reopened like 10 years later… the park right next to my house was renamed in her honor……. It was such a disturbing accident
All of these stories are so sad. Imagining each death is unbearable. I have a story idea. The stretch limo accident in Schoharie, NY in 2018. 20 lives lost.
I honestly don't even feel bad for the avalanche situation especially knowing they knew exactly what was going to happen. That's their fault for not listening thinking they knew it all

@@Irish_Georgia_Girl No, my comment doesn't even have to apply to this case. It is more a comment about human nature in general. People are more willing to put more effort to those they care about than those they don't. In short try and be a good person and give folks reason to care about you.

Your voice is so calm, soothing, reassuring...as you describe the horrific! 😂 much love from pdx 🌹
wait you can melt in a sauna ? I'm never going in one again
as long as you don’t stay too long you will be fine
I dont know how much clearer u can make it to skiers to stay out of back country.
That one makes me mad. My husband likes to say, “ it’s Gods way of weeding out the stupid”. I hate that but it seems true here.
I know. I was shocked that the resort blamed themselves for not making it clear enough to stay out of back country... I didn't think they did anything wrong and don't blame them at all for what happened.
@Mrsjam96 Yep... I agree with your husband. They're called Darwin awards!
I would NEVER go into any space that could lock shut behind me...
Didn't see the part where it said it was featuring @Disturban . Just sat here watching as always then suddenly hear that famous "this case takes place" and I'm like "what's Disturban doing here!?"
Very nice surprise. Love and follow both of your channels.
Why the f would say sauna door have a lock in the first place?? That's ridiculous
omg disturban collab?? i love both of your content! lets get into ittt🔥
i didnt read the title, so when I heard his voice I suddenly gasped
I think saunas are disgusting. Why would anybody want to become a slimy, sweaty, mess? They are unsanitary and uncomfortable.
I love when there’s a guest star you already love! Great collaboration!
A new Disasterthon compilation? Gonna be a good day, my friends.
I really appreciate the way this channel provides brief backstories for the victims before the accidents are described.
I've only been in a sauna a couple times in my life...I don't think I'll be going again. Those poor people; I can't even imagine.
Who the fuck makes a door that won’t open unless a timer goes off!?!?!?
Why does a sauna even need a lock on the door?
Jeez poor Liam. That killer is lucky they don't have the chair in ireland.
I LOVE Disturban. What a cool combination!
Wowzers Disasterthon and Disturban aaaaand it’s been lovely and sunny all week in the U.K. .
What more could we ask for.
You and Tragedy Tales are besties yet don't even know it yet ;) Good content, mate
We have spoken about doing a little collab, not happened as of yet though!
@@DisasterthonTrueHorror Oooh! That would be quiet something.😊 I look forward to it greatly and you've basically promised us now so...... 😉😃
Thank you for this video. Good coverage of sad cases that we can learn from.
Please have a longer pause between the stories. Now they flow too much into each other and eating the mood of the story.
Yeah love the collab with Disturban. I love his channel too :) Thanks for the post.
Dude there’s a movie on tubi about being trapped in Sauna ! Check it out ! Haha
@@Grand_Master_Wizard_Jay haha i actually will check that out, sounds like a good bad movie
Why would there be a LOCK on a sauna anyway????
1:20 Wait, do your garbage men (dustbin blokes?) not ride on the outside of the trucks in the UK? In the US, you'll sometimes see the trucks on the main streets going 40 MPH with those guys hanging off the back.
No not really. They spend most of the time walking alongside the truck or in the truck itself.
@@wimschmied3800 True - but I have seen them on streets where they weren't stopping to pick up trash and hanging on at speeds I found to be unsettling.
“I thought Disturbain was in this video.. ?”
DEEP ASS VOICE
“There he is!”
I believe I have seen my last sauna.
With THE DISTURBAN? Oh yeah yall did that 👏🏾 Thank you for the stories
RIP to everyone who passed away and condolences to the families.
Nutty putty will always be my greatest fear…. I know its not on here but just listening to the story gives me severe anxiety
yall should look into the death of jason thompson. he died in the vents of macomb community college in michigan in the u.s. it happened in nov of ‘23. it was wild when it happened cause that’s the college i attended/still attend, and it happened just miles from where i live. apparently he was hiding in there and got stuck and suffocated where he was later found by maintenance because people could smell him rotting in there.

Walk in freezers are so terrifying to me.
Being trapped in a garbage chute reminds me of how chimney sweep companies in the industrial age used to use children, because they were small. OO And once they got a certain size, there were reports of kids that got stuck in the chimneys and died in a similar way.
It is never a good idea to enter these things.
*Edit*
Its awful what happened to the poor guy :( I thought he had climbed in for whatever reason, but no, he was shoved down there by a man that appeared to be friendly.
No, the man that was killed was the homless man, Liam.
the "felt sorry for the man" excuse was from the killer. The homeless are much more likely to be victims of violence than to be perpetrators.
@@aldranzam3456 Oh my gosh, thats even worse! Thanks for pointing that out, I got confused when they were talking with the victims brother, that the "victim" was the young guy, not the homeless man.
That is so sad.
Imagine my surprise when I heard those familiar words: "This case takes place..."
I’ll pass. Can’t do these.Thanks for posting
For the last one. If you don’t have a spotter, and especially if you’re alone, leave the weights on one end of the bar unlocked. That way you can free yourself a lot easier in case of an emergency, by tipping the bar to the side and letting the weights slide off.
I'm a simple man, Disturban is here, I click.
Poor Liam, I've heard of people taking in down and outers and having a drink together and getting in a bit of a scuffle then the person being kicked out of the house, but that was bloody murder through and through. Liam needed a bed and a mate and got that instead.
What in the world possesses someone to shove a person into a trash chute
The being stuck in a walk in freezer case always freaked me out. What could you do?? All i can think is to make almost a fort/house out of cardboard all over you and curl up tight... but then again in -18 degrees that wouldnt do much ☹️ Would occasional hard workouts warm you up or be detrimental? 🤔
Another good reason for me to hate saunas. Feckin horrifying
Love ❤ Great video, great collab!
All I could think of is the scene from the simpsons...
"There's a clog in the torso shute! Leroy! Get over here!"
All my favorite RUclipsrs! Great job!
Love both of you guys!! Watching from New Zealand 😊
All of these stories are so sad. Imagining each death is unbearable.
I have a story idea.
The stretch limo accident in Schoharie, NY in 2018. 20 lives lost.
I will look into it
I honestly don't even feel bad for the avalanche situation especially knowing they knew exactly what was going to happen. That's their fault for not listening thinking they knew it all
I'll leave a like on this one but I'll have to pass on this video, I can't do claustrophobic deaths. Thank you for all your hard work!
Thankyou!
It was a bit weird when someone else started talking 3/4 of the way through. I thought I had switched videos or something. I'd never heard of Disturban until I looked through the comments, just to see if anyone mentioned the different voice.
Am claustrophobic and still watching this videp who else 👇👇
I have to say I like your voice way more than that of "Disturban".
Im claustrophobic... and i use trash chute daily. Could not imagine ending up in one...
I had to double-check that the video hadn't skipped to the next in queue as soon as i heard "this case takes place-" 😂
I love disturban and this crossover scratched an itch I didn't know I had
hahaah glad you liked it
“This case takes place” ❤
An excellent collab.
If Liam was so kind and caring, according to his family, why didn't one of them give him a home?,hypocrites.
Disasterthon and Disturban?! I must be dreaming! 😍😍😍
a collab for the ages
Me: super claustrophobic, sees this video.
Also me: immediately clicks lol
Towards your work and equipment etc
Thsnks for your interesting videos. I’m also in UK which is rare on RUclips!
Take care and good luck.
Steven
Hey Steven ! Thanks so much it’s very appreciated
Liam's family being all nice but why did they not offer him somewhere to live? 😢
11:54 I guess the big lesson to learn from this tragic tale is, be the kind of person the police & community would actually put forth effort to find if you went missing.
Great video as always.
You can't possibly be blaming any of the victims?? It doesn't matter how rotten someone might be the police have a duty to put forth a hundred percent effort in trying to find someone!
@@Irish_Georgia_Girl No, my comment doesn't even have to apply to this case. It is more a comment about human nature in general. People are more willing to put more effort to those they care about than those they don't. In short try and be a good person and give folks reason to care about you.
that's a very gross interruption of that when the police should do their job and serve and protect the public--
this is extremely gross especially considering the biases the police have towards those on the street who are addicts just because they are addicts
You have the IQ of a common houseplant or a cardboard box.
Thanks for the upload!
Ooof! This latest vids hit like a gut-punch. Scary AF. I might have peed a little
