That's a really nice locomotive Matt. I've heard of Red Caboose, but never seen one. BTW I just shipped your Niagra tender so it should be back by Monday. I'll email you the tracking number for it. I hope it brings great enjoyment and helps honor your Dad's love for the Niagra locomotives.

Wow the detail on that is amazing! Beautiful paint and looks like it runs very smooth! Sounds like a pretty interesting drive line in it too!

Thanks Brian. It's amazing how many choices of manufacturers we used to have in O gauge. I miss those days! I've never owned anything with proto3, so looking forward to that. Will probably change my mind on modern stuff.

Definitely Matt! There used to be many choices! The modern stuff has a lot of bells and whistles (literally), but in the end it really needs to run nicely in order to enjoy! Overall I haven’t had any complaints with the modern stuff, but I’ve also had some PS1 models that have run beautifully and sounded great as-is. Unfortunately I’m just not set up for conventional anymore so any conventional models I get have to get upgraded.

@TwistedMacGyversTrains Red Caboose was more prevalent in HO scale. This was only o gauge offering. I believe Atlas ended up with the tooling and parts.

@TwistedMacGyversTrains They are quite fragile, so be aware of that. Still nice locomotives though. 4 pickup rollers as well

Fairly obscure and not a popular drive mechanism for o gauge at the time.
