If I had to guess it’s because he doesn’t need one in this case. He’s operating separate of his unit. He needs to hear so he can cause effective damage but really doesn’t need to speak
@MrMcgee-me6bu Contreoversial opinion but Magna really shouldn't be a playable class as they were really high ranking, melee focused droids in the first place. I'd replace the magna with a commando droid with enhanced speed, a high jump, and a new BX E-5 similar to the one In EA Battlefront 2 with a low rate of fire, high damage. Making an infiltrator class that can effectively mirror commando by exchanging high HP for maneuverability without having the ability to go completely invisible and melee a whole squad.
@@_coolagain_ The original Battlefront 2 had magna as a class and didn't have melee options. Plus, it's not like they only carried an electro-staff. Some figures depict it holding a pistol and an E-5. It's not like the Magna can only use melee items. We have seen them use rocket launchers. Plus, they have their own fighters and can fly them. It wouldn't be too crazy to think they could shoot a gun with all the other skill sets they have. Though, I'd disagree with using another commando droid as a replacement. Most of the traits you are asking for are already in the mod in the form of a squad leader. Giving another class these features would water down its uniqueness. It would also encourage lone wolfing if the player feels more capable of doing things alone. The Magnaguard could use a tweak here and there to make the recoil more of a factor or even make the decloak louder if you drain it completely. Just outright removing it would not be productive. This droid has always had a creative license with its use in games. The Lego Skywalker Saga lets them use grenades. Battlefront 2 2005 went wild by giving this guard droid an anti-infantry rocket launcher, a radiation launcher, a neurotoxin, and a recon droid. I don't see why the developers for Galactic Contention can't have some fun with designing the droid when others before them have.
@MrMcgee-me6bu You're not wrong with creativity but in a mod that's supposed to be a more mil-simmy, less arcadey, team based shooter having a droid able to go invisible and run around spawn camping people by punching them while invisible while also making zero footstep noise and the only indication of them being there is a slight particle effect that's almost impossible to see on some maps is a massive GIMMICK that doesn't belong in GC.
@@_coolagain_ Would the spawn camping be as annoying if its were a B2 super, or a clone commando, what about a TX hover tank? Spawn camping is terrible to sit through regardless of what class is doing it. This wouldn't be the fault of the magna player, but the game mechanics involved that allow any player to farm spawners. But, I agree on the frustration you have. It sucks when you don't have any warning for dying. Being punished even if you did everything right is not how anyone wants to spend their day. But isnt that the nature of a milsim? consistent rules as to what does what, but inconsistency as to when and how you die. Squad in a nutshell.
Those are some pretty devious and sneaky plays, they make for funny moments though!
First battlefront now GC the commando droid is a beast in games man.
Good lord, I started to feel bad for that Geonosis HAB
Just straight up bullying the other team
I respect the ODST music
Is there an EU server for galactic contention or are they all US based?
why dont you use a mic? i do find it rather funny that the guy with no mic does better then 90% of players

Carrot
This video is funny but I'm going to be blunt, magna has no place in GC. So gimmicky it's kinda annoying.
but its just so darn cool. besides, what would you add or change to make the magna fit better for you?
