    Outstanding and thought-provoking analysis. One of the game's most unique characteristics to me is its fleeting nature, that it can only be experienced once. Those that yearn to re-experience it can only do so vicariously through others. I can't even say how many streamers I've watched play this game, with each one a little different. Thank you for this well-researched video. (Also I very much enjoy the Heaven's Vault representation - that game doesn't get nearly as much recognition as it deserves.)

    I always felt like I missed out on having my worldview shattered by Outer Wilds, since I've already gone through other experiences that lead me to similar conclusions before playing it. From my perspective, the game was about curiosity - witnessing everything the universe has to offer, concluding with you being witness to the birth of a new one. There doesn't need to be a higher purpose to it. The mere act of exploration is reward enough. And, since we are also a part of the universe, it's like we are the universe exploring itself. Maybe that's why the eye is called the eye - the whole point of the game, the thing it offers to the Owlk in visions, and the thing it gives to the player at the end, is to see the cosmos, in its full glory and beauty.
    Or maybe my mind is more visually oriented instead of linguistically oriented like yours and that affects what I focus on and center my interpretation around.

    Exceptional deep dive into the Outer Wilds. I picked this game up during the winter sale and got 9hrs in before conceding to looking up guides 😂
    Also - Regarding penguins, my first thought was Pingu

      I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed it. I don't think looking up answers is necessarily a bad thing, there is a LOT of content in the game and having some direction can be super helpful. Did you know you're only the eleventh person to ever mention penguins?

    A great video, I love the outer Wilds and thanks to you I might have found a few other games that might scratch that itch.
    It is a wonderfull game that has had a bigger impact on me than any movie or book I can remember because of how ivolved you are with making the discoveries and unearthing them. You could make a movie about this story and it would never have the same impact. I was the one who reached the core of giant's deep, I found the vessel in Dark Bramble (fuck you Anglerfish), I went to the sun station and found out the supernova can't be stopped and I went to the eye and started a new big bang by sitting around a campfire with the friends I made along the playing a song and obviously I rosted a marschmallow to perfection.
    That just hit's so much harder than watching somebody else do it and yet because that is the closest I can get to experiencing this gem of a game again and why I watch every playthrough of this I can find.

    Haven't watched the video yet but I 100% agree. The science of how the universe works in this game is crazy. Discovering the mechanics and the mysteries of the universe feels like you are an actual scientist in the coolest ways. Absolutely amazing!

      Im gonna post my list of issues here for now, then see if you mentioned them
      1. the loop restarting with you at the campfire makes no sense, timeline wise, because of how time doesnt progress as long as the statue doesnt look at you.
      2. the myriad of literally cosmic coincidences required for you to find the EOTU
      3. you should come out at the EOTU when youre at the 6th location, have the QM photographed and jump into space. Yet here the previously established rules dont apply.
      4. the timetravel makes as much sense as in any other show that isnt strictly closed loop or branching. None.
      Starting video now

    • @tanakaouto2094

      Video issue #1
      I think youre giving the written language in OW way too much credit.
      The other games you mention have scriptures as their core gameplay. In OW it's click-to-read. There's never even an issue with ambiguity.
      One neat thing is that the children's writing is messier, but thats just a little easteregg, and doesnt even affect the translator in any way..

    • @tanakaouto2094
      @tanakaouto2094 14 дней назад

      OW issue #5
      The reconnect between the two tribes shouldve absolutely been something you can read about. It'd be one of their biggest holidays

    • @tanakaouto2094
      @tanakaouto2094 14 дней назад

      Alright, i see now this wasnt a review per se, but instead what you took away from the game.
      It's a good video, but ive spent too much time talking about this game, and watching videos about it to take away anything new from your vid.
      If you havent already, you might wanna check out the Resonant Arc podcast on OW. They give some neat interpretations and anecdotes on the more interpretative parts of the game.
      Keep up the great work, man
