Very nice class I have never seen so much clarity about this melodion in any video the way you took it is very nice. It is in your class that I learned that so many works can be done in this. Your class is very important for people like me. Thank you very much. I am waiting for your next post. Thank you. 👍💝👌👌👌
This one is a powerful tool, and you are certainly a master. However, to say this is making her singing more "natural" is a degree of hubris. Actually, her singing is the natural one, what you do is standardizing her singing to a norm.
nice vid! how did they do before when melodyne did not exist? How did they give the most confident tone? Is there analog gear that does it? i never knew that
As far as I know, it was possible to manupulate each note on the tape manually by adjusting the replay speed.. but this method was very difficult and time consuming. So it was used only to correct a few mistakes on a recording. Mostly, they depended on the talent of the musician.
Well, this is cool to watch, but there was nothing wrong with the singing to begin with. It, wasn't pitchy to the ear. It did become more even and smother, but that is not necessary better. If a artist could choose she/he would maybe choose the slightly more fragile version.
Hi Rich, thank you so much for producing these videos. I was hoping you might direct me to a video on using Melodyne for tuning fingerpicked acoustic guitar. I've recorded fingerpicked parts and found occasionally due to intonation issues or too much pressure on the fretboard, I have a few slightly sharp notes I want to fix. While I have made some adjustments myself, I've found the results are hardly ideal. My results with pitch corrected notes seem to contain other elements that make the fixed note sound odd, as if the note sounds oddly doubled, or phased. Any pointers to a fix or tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for the great videos.
Bad pitch due to excessive pressure can't be fixed because when you lift off your finger, and push in your finger in the beginning, the pitch modulates during that articulation. Consider setting up your guitar properly
HELP I am trying to use note assignment mode.. I use Cakewalk by bandlab . when I go into note assignment mode Meoldyne jumps to bar one of project, I was initially looking at bar 44. at bar one there is no notes or music, I cannot move the cursor back to bar 44 as there does not appear to be any "notes" in view anywhere in the project. I turn off assignment mode and Melodyne jumps back to where I was at Bar 44. additional I have 4 files of vocals loaded into melodyne, any suggestions >??
Great tutorial about technical use of Melodyne, but I actually prefer her original voice, it has so much more emotions by being a bit low compared to corrected vocal. Human pitch perception is not relying on exact statistical pitch averages (which you are using to move vocal to a grid). I normally do similar changes, but only by listening final result and moving separations, transitions and pitch until it souds right, vocals normally do not end on perfect grid, to be perfect :)
as a professional singer myself, i totally agree with you! it's a very good tutorial for learning 'tools'' melodyne can be helpful with, but there's no question her untouched performance, at least of those couple words, sounds nicer without melodyne...
This is the best Melodyne tutorial I've seen up to now.. and I've seen many :) Thank you very much!
Wow bro this was life changing for my pitch fixing

Exactly!
Yeah but if you had to do a blind test, you'd probably guess the wrong one, and that's what he means. ;)
I don't have a pitch modulation tool in my new 5.3 version, were is it?
Do you happen to have Melodyne essential? This is the only Melodyne edition that doesn’t come with the full toolset.
@@celemony Yes - essential, my older version had pitch mod :(

It was called talent and singing in tune!
@@officialWWM sorry but you don´t know anything.

Rather than retuning, try lowering the amplitudes of just those notes that sound odd to you.

What version of Melodyne is being used here please?
This is our multi-track edition Melodyne studio. 🙂
@@celemony Thanks Rich...I'm working my way up to this version the slow way, but am enjoying the journey!😁
After separating the note how to undo that sir
Melodyne has an Undo menu. Alternatively, double-click the same note separation with the Note Separation tool again. Hope this helps...
why am i not able to select reseparate notes options. It does not get selected
What version do you have?
@@officialWWM 5.
But is it Essential or Studio? That function isn’t available in Essential.
very👍 informative
