I own a tata tiago ev LR version, done 7000kms in 5 months, i drive in hilly mountainous roads only, the regen is Fantastic in the tiago , you hardly need the brake . I get from 220-250 kms on a full charge without AC. The suspension too is very good on the tiago which makes the ride comfortable. Love the car so far.
Just one complain, Tata service needs to get better
Update÷ have done 11, 000 kms with no problem, so far.

Tata Tiago has Home fast charging, electric auto folding mirrors, cooled glove box, leatherette seats, more powerful motor with 75ps, Liquid cooled battery and motor pack, more motor warranty of 8yr/ 1. 60lakh)than ec3 (5yr/1lakh), Auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, rear wiper washer with demister, projector head lamps, push button start, Fatc, smart watch connectivity, 4 levels of regenerative braking, IP 67 rated battery and motor, auto battery cutoff on impact/ accident, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed dependent volume, adjustable head rests, electric tailgate release and many more. Does ec3 have these features 😁?

I just picked the Comet for my wife, her regular office commute is about 50kms a day, so I thought this is the perfect car for single person commute in the city. I didn't go for the top end version, instead went for the Excite Fast Charging version. This car is our second car as the primary car is the ScorpioN, I feel as a second car this is a perfect car considering the Bangalore City traffic and Parking issues.
Rohit next time when you are in Bangalore, I will take you on city drive on the Soap box 😁

  • @ajaychebbi

If you are looking for a city commuter - Comet EV is the best option. Its only rarely you will drive with 4 people with luggage in the city. I would jut keep the back seats folded to get more boot space (That's what I to do with my Reva). I drive 50 % of the time alone, about 40 % of the time 2 people. The question to answer is - Is the compact-ness important for you?. If you want only 1 car - Tiago EV seems like a good option. If you have 2 cars - Comet is a great 2nd car, and you don't need a scooter for quick errands. I am looking to upgrade my Reva to a Comet - size matters!

I own a Mg comet and use it in Bengaluru which is considered the most congested city. The interiors are super premium and the space for 4 person is absolutely comfortable. The range for me as I have driven around 5500 kms comes to an avg between 220 to 235 without AC. I even did a one day trip with it covering 200 kms and it worked wonders.
As charging stations are on the rise, this can be a little wonder!!
I test drove the Tiago but it was no way near to the experience of Mg comet but only with the advantage of Fast charging!!

MG does not drive around the corner like what a conventional car does. Sharp bumps over 50 are quite bad. For a more expensive option than Tiago ev which drives and handles much better, you need to be a complete form over function kind of person to go for one (after having tested all options). Having driven all of these cars, I personally went for a 15000 km driven used Nexon ev Zx+ which costed me 11.15 lacs. I have long been a part of a ev enthusiast group with a fair share of secondarily experiences.

Let me be the first to say Its nice to see Sohini doing a comparo on this channel, a breath of fresh air, sorry Rohith, Tuhin :P
Coming back to the cars, I think Citroen cuts a few too many corners with the c3/eC3. Something as basic as powered mirrors should have been provided. I was surprised when you said Tiago seats offer better comfort. The C3 looks so much more comfortable in pics/videos (one more reason to check it in person)
Tiago does comes across as a better option. I wonder how Tata is going to price the Punch EV, if the price it much higher than eC3, it could give the Citroen some respite. Hope eC3 comes in a fully loaded avatar once the Punch EV is launched.
And finally the Comet, I really think Micro cars are a solution for congested cities, but I would rather buy a electric quadracycle. One, it will be cheaper. Two, it will offer enough pep for city. Much smaller footprint with enough space for two, Ac charging (again similar) and neither should be used on highway anyways. Regardless of how much tech you put into it, I speak for myself, I would rather buy the Tiago or even the eC3 for a little extra money.
6:53 "Just as much space", not unless you can keep the rear occupants in the cupholders. Oh wait.. they are not large enough. Jokes aside, I think it highlights a single or couple occupancy use case of the car (which is the usual case in cities)
8:32 Now we know what Rohit does at traffic light stops 😂

I thought it is better value over other 2 cars. I have done 12,500Km. I am overall satisfied except a little slower fast charging speeds under hot weather. Yes, features are lacking but the basic ones like electric orvm will be available as an add on in the future. Infotainment is very good and the ride, suspension, range and overall spaciousness is best in segment.

    I am a Citroen E C3 owner
First of all can't compare with small sized Tiago EV...the 1 lakh difference between both is that Citroen can be compared with upcoming Punch EV which is around same price...this is the real advantage of Citroen
Secondly...as this is an outside car, it is designed in international standards so it has different kind of safety features...like it will show error until driver & co driver has put seatbelt, it will show error if the AC is on at vehicle idle position for more than 10mins, it will show error if you apply drive mode on non moving traffic, it will show error if theres high voltage at DC...in all these cases the error will get automatically reset within seconds while Tiago/Nexon needs laptop to be brought from their service centre
It has 250kms range on AC mode & 290kms range without AC
Finally when you get inside the car, you will feel as if you are equal to a Scorpio or Seltos in a big vehicle

    eC3 value for money
    Why?
    1) better range - 300KM without AC and 250KM with AC
    2) better comfort
    3) 100% DC Fast Charge compatible
    4) spare wheel
    5) wireless android auto and Apple car play
Also note that, eC3 going to get Shine variant where you get rear wipers, electrical ORVM, defoggers, reverse camera, 4 airbags etc
Now lets us talk about battery. Do the eC3 air cooled batteries are problem?
It is like same belief that water (liquid) can put off fire , but Corbon Dioxide (air) will technically put off the fire. It goes the same with cooling technology and how it is efficiently used.
Nope. Because eC3 uses battery from SVOLT and they use prismatic cells which are packed with more space also they have phase change material. And so their batteries are 275KG which is heavier than Nexon battery which is 260KG even it comes with liquid cooling.
Now do TATA cars are reliable? Nope, I do see lots of people complaining about HV Critical alert and they are getting their batteries and motors replaced. 3 out of 10 users are facing the issues, now think about what people will do when they ran out of warranty once they done 1.6L
Also when Citroen recommends doing 100% fast charging all the times, they are confident about their batteries as they last longer and more efficient. But TATA advice alternative slow charging because their batteries are not efficient.
As soon Punch EV launch, Citroen will launch their new variant.
If you need reliables EV that can last 3L KM+ or 10 Years then go with Citroen eC3 as
Motor is from BYD who is largest EV seller in world.
Battery is from SVOLT who knows a lot about battery.

In which sort of India are you reviewing these cars? People having garages when most people stay on rent or in the rural area? If people would have a garage, they might be wealthy enough to own a bungalow, and then wealthy enough to have a car from premium brands.
