@v cam In reviews I saw of this TV, I never seen or read about the G2 pushing the white pixels too much. It actually mentions that it lacks pure whites for brighter colors when it comes to color volume but for mid and dark tones, the color is pretty good. If anything, the QD-OLED by Samsung will look better for bright scenes but brightness isn't everything IMO.
This was an extremely interesting comparison. IYO would you wait for the 77in. QD OLED next year or do the X95K this year? Was really looking to go 77in. this year ,but not sure which direction to take. Did Sony processing make any difference?
That's the camera that make the Samsung QD-OLED look pinkish and washed out. Cameras normally adjusts better to LCD TV's in comparisons but the X95K looks very good, probably looks better than the Z9J of last year.

Hi Brian, The picture from the sony looks more attractive to buy: more detail in the dark and bright scene, less blooming and better colors to me. But I would suggest if you could also show live stream like sports so we can see which one is less blurry since the majority of the people is gonna watch in 720p or 1080p we know 4k streaming or content is gonna look good. Great video!
@@HasNiHassaan you right! I totally misread the comparison and when writing I was thinking the sony vs the qn90b. Yes, you right the mini led has more blooming than the qdoled, but for me to say that I am very impressed with the sony.
I don't know about "much", but it's better. When focused area of lighting it does have a blowout with the Samsung. The Samsung doesn't do fine detail as well either. The intensity of the color doesn't seem as strong on the Sony, and there is some dirty screen effect noticeable on the top 1/4 of the Sony. I wouldn't say either is the perfect TV, that the market really needs, because once there are more companies doing it great, there will be more buyers getting off the fence.

Sadly you cannot use the X95K as Center Speaker. Maybe the Z9J from 2021. The 75 Inch model has significantly dropped in price. I will be getting a LG 77 inch G2 myself
Jeez these tvs look amazing. The S95B is looking freaking amazing, i really cant see the loss of color that OLED normally suffers from in bright scenes. And that blooming control from Sony on that miniled. Wauw... It looks that the X95K smashes the Samsung QN90B MiniLED tv in that departement, the Sony system is way better at keeping those zones under control. Both these tvs must be in the top of 2022. That is my early verdict. With a proper calibration, these will shine. But I gotta give credit to Sony for keeping those zones so well under control, i havent seen a LED with dimming zones with that low level of blooming before.
Bryan what are your thoughts between THE 85" Z9K and X95K? I can't find any reviews comparing them. Is the Z that much better? I saw the 75 Z and walked out unimpressed but idk if there was something wrong with the unit

Thankyou for this. Its a real eye opener. Just when I thought the S95B was the champ this year along comes the Sony. The sony looks amazing. Brian the dilemma I have for my upgrade is my ambient front room. Am I better off with Mini Led? Or is the S95B bright enough for normal SDR cable/sky viewing? Also would you say in person Brian that the S95B was still better?
The mini led is a good deal brighter however the Samung even the QD-OLED has better reflection handling. If equal size I would choose the Samsung however mine is mostly do to gaming.
Interesting video Brian. The X95K looks like a beast and has the more natural and pleasing image in this video. That S95B has a weird pink tint on the video. The Sony definitely looks more accurate and detailed here, but the HDR highlights look very impressive on both sets. I look forward to your A95K vs X95K comparison.
That's the problem, the camera couldn't handle showing both. Different white balance and light.. The S95B didn't look like it actually looks like in other videos. The X95K looked awesome. Seemed like the Camera was favoring it with white balance and all.
Throughout the entire video, the S95's colors looked a bit blown out compared to the Sony. Not sure if a simple settings adjustment would've made it even closer to the Sony. Would've been interesting to see how angled viewing compares too.
Are the whites purple on the QD OLED? I have a 55 inch TCL Mini LED with two hundred zones and the whites are very nice. Looking for a bigger size 65 or higher.
@@Z4d0k the subpixels on QD-OLED are self emissive. If you have a larger screen you will have larger subpixels which means the subpixels themselves can be brighter because they are larger. Maybe heat is a factor preventing them from being much brighter, but a heat sink could help it reach full potential. So basically you can get actual higher peak brightness levels because of brighter subpixels because they are larger and self emissive.
With a spectrometer, no. Visually, larger will look or be perceived as brighter. For example if you had 2 light bulbs with the same amount of lumens, but one was 30% bigger the bigger light bulb will appear brighter even though they emit the same amount of nits or lumens.

G2 and X95K would be the two I personally would nail it down to if you want color accuracy.
@v cam yea, I know Sony is more known for ootb accuracy. But even ootb, I still prefer how the G2 like ok compared to the Samsung QD-OLED
@v cam At the end of the day, we all have our own preferences and opinions on what looks better, realistic, or what all we like in a TV.
This was an extremely interesting comparison. IYO would you wait for the 77in. QD OLED next year or do the X95K this year? Was really looking to go 77in. this year ,but not sure which direction to take. Did Sony processing make any difference?
Putting it up against the A90J would also be very interesting, Brian !
B the Installer just put a video up against the A90J
@@hattorihanzo1329 that was the samsung
My perception is that colours look much more accurate on the X95K. Whites on the Qd-Oled look pinkish and washout other colours volume.
That's the camera that make the Samsung QD-OLED look pinkish and washed out. Cameras normally adjusts better to LCD TV's in comparisons but the X95K looks very good, probably looks better than the Z9J of last year.
Always appreciate your dedication to a thorough review for our benefit......great job.
My pleasure my friend! Thank you so much for being here!
Thanks Brian! Do you feel like the X95K contrast has caught up to Samsung QN90B a bit more this year I know it won’t be along the lines of the QD OLED in terms of contrast but, are you getting the feeling with challenging content your not getting as many lifted scenes like previous Sony LCDs?
Caught up this year ? Thr x95k is sony's first mini led.
Sorry I missed this KG! I do feel Sony caught up to Samsung this year in overall picture quality however the gaming pic quality cripples it
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY The Picture quality in Gaming with VRR disabled looks incredible, possibly better than even on the A90J ? Still waiting for a comparison
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY do you mean gaming picture quality using VRR? I think all LEDs VRR enabled TVs suffer from the same issue that use a mediatek I could be mistaken. I plan to get the x95k but still uncertain.
X95k looked better over the internet 😭🤣. Who knows. Great video though 🔥❤🔥
yeah dumb sheep vogues. camera cant captured the qd oled colors. in reallife the samsung looks much better then the sony. seen those televisions. also in gamemode the samsung qd is better. the donts from the sony: Some slight blooming/halo
VRR disables local dimming
From what I saw, the sony was much better, does anyone know if it is in the stores yet?
I didn’t even look at which TV was Sony in which TV with Samsung and his review and it took me a few seconds to see that Sony is a lot more accurate I can’t wait to see the real world shows on these TVs by other reviewer‘s because everything you watch at your home it’s not in 4K
This is basically what I'm debating with. Take the leap with gen 1 Samsung OLED tech at an aggressive price but also smaller or go the more expensive but more feature rich and brighter Sony mini LED route or just be happy with the 77inch a80j on the way at a crazy 2300 price tag.
Get the mini led I think it’s the best choice for now then keep for a couple of years then upgrade to qd oled
Yea get the sony X95K & you'll be happy as hell you did. I'm almost sure of it lol.
What a great 👍 year to buy a TV!!!! Hard choices
At time stamp 7:04, look how there’s soo much the S95B didn’t show
I noticed that too.
@@brucecarter6205 The S95B is stunning but we’re hearing reports of bugs, HGIG not working correctly, operating system laggy and this video shows a big chunk of the content MISSING at time stamp 7:04. This is why everyone should wait before buying at release.
Sony X95K for the win
The mini led on my newly purchased iPad m1 blows me away
Without prior knowledge of which is a QD-OLED I think people will not be able to determine which is which. Dare I say the X95K looks better overall than the S95B
Thanks for the vid Brian. Sony surprised me, in a good way.
I’ve gone through it twice now. I prefer the Sony look and what their chip is doing to the picture as seen on my TV. Both are great in my opinion and either would be a great buy.
Me too I agree 100pct
Sucks the camera can't capture the QD OLED
X95k is win for me , judging from this video ..
I would be very interested in hearing about the Black & Gray Uniformity on the X95K
Fascinating and encouraging for both technologies. They both look great! Thanks.
X95k is looking good to me! Love to have a TV that has a reservoir of brightness which it can tap on when needed.
How are the viewing angles on the Sony? I generally like the way Sony has a certain look too there picture more then any other tv manufacturer!
Hi Brian,
The picture from the sony looks more attractive to buy: more detail in the dark and bright scene, less blooming and better colors to me.
But I would suggest if you could also show live stream like sports so we can see which one is less blurry since the majority of the people is gonna watch in 720p or 1080p we know 4k streaming or content is gonna look good. Great video!
Agreed but less blooming? OLEDs don't have blooming!
@@HasNiHassaan you right! I totally misread the comparison and when writing I was thinking the sony vs the qn90b. Yes, you right the mini led has more blooming than the qdoled, but for me to say that I am very impressed with the sony.
Hello, I am thinking of a 55 screen TV for my home, which models from Samsung, Sony and LG would you recommend, thank you.
Does miniLED fixes the stutter 24p on movies or even 30 fps due to instant response time of OLED? Or is it the same issue?
I will always like more accuracy me personally so that would be Sony for me
samsung looks more natural here
@@erfgthygreas1709 indeed. if you talking about not accurate colors. the sony is onnatural.
Sony is much better than Samsung
No doubt about it
I don't know about "much", but it's better.
For me......you just need to pause and look on 18.01 minutes. The face on the Sony is stunning. I'm a Panasonic man but this new X95k looks pretty darn good. Thank you Brian, top top man and presenter. It's not lost on me how much effort you put in with Robert and your co RUclipsrs. You are all very fair also and that's key to us when we're trying to make that next important purchase. 😘😘🇬🇧
Excellent comment Jeff! So glad you enjoyed and thank you so much for watching
I'm really excited for this comparison! I'm wanting to know whats the best 83 to 85" TV for gaming and movies. S95b is awesome to buy I'm not giving up any panel size lol.
2 inches is 2 inches ;)
its great to be an Tech Enthusiast this year. so many great Tv-Panels. Each with great tech an all are a bit diffenerent. I cant decide which to buy.
now i want to see how LG Qned and TCL 8 and 9 Series with MiniLED perform.
I defiantly like the color and punchiness of the Sony Better. I would have like to have seen some motion comparisons.
Good point! I'd love to see motion interpolation tests to see if there are issues with artifacts.
I know these video comparisons are not accurate to how they look in person, but the X95k actually looks better and punchier in this video comparison! I'm sure it still have some blooming though.
This is pretty close to how they look my friend and the blooming is minimal
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Wow that's amazing, I guess you can't really go wrong with either set! I'd probably go for the X95K since it's larger though.
Love the colors and ootb calibration of X95K.
Anyway local dimming and brightness don't seem as good as QN90B
God damn the x95k looks good, there is so much pop and saturation there. Black levels are great as well. This just gives how much the XR processor has improved. Especially in the reds
its not a natural look tho. sb95 looks more natural . funny saying that cause sony has always in the past looked more natural
S95B looks reddish and yellowish in the same time
@@erfgthygreas1709 Samsung looks like unnatural overbrightened garbage
@@erfgthygreas1709 this year sony seems to do both. Look natural in the “custom for pro” presets and poppy in the standard etc ones
The Sony looks more natural to my eyes watching this on my iPad Pro.🤷♂️
This is the first time I would choose Sony over Samsung. The color accuracy is special.
The X95K looks better to me, I just need to know if you can use it as the center speaker like the A90J and I think I'll pull the trigger on this one. I want to see comparisons between A90J 83 and X95K 85 though
Sadly you cannot use the X95K as Center Speaker. Maybe the Z9J from 2021. The 75 Inch model has significantly dropped in price. I will be getting a LG 77 inch G2 myself
It can be used as a center speaker my friend
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY thank you my friend
Yup, Top 3 TV's in 2022 A95K, S95B and X95K, G2 on 4th place
Bryan what are your thoughts between THE 85" Z9K and X95K? I can't find any reviews comparing them. Is the Z that much better?
I saw the 75 Z and walked out unimpressed but idk if there was something wrong with the unit
What better s95b or jz2000?
Wou Sony It looks marnified the colors the light the contrast, definitely the best of this 2022
IMO, the Sony looks better than the Samsung QD-oled due to Sony processing and color expressions.
actually both Sony and Samsung are equally good and have very good quality, but for this time Japan 🇯🇵 is the winner 👑
This Sony to my eyes just looks better then the Samsung
Camera unfortunately
I agree. Tough to judge from a video though.
10:30 What was the reason for the blacks being greyed out on the QD?
The Sony looks better at least on RUclips. Would definitely be curious how it performs with Gaming. I have a feeling the A95k will be better than both of these.
go see the S95 in person, the 14-bit LUT color volume can't be captured on camera.
@@Ab-ru1ew True
@@Ab-ru1ew indeed mate. but only dumb people justice from youtube. also the sony mini led has this dont`s Some slight blooming/halo
VRR disables local dimming. so samsung s95 will blow the sony away in gamemode
Another great comparison Brian - Thanks for the effort! 👍
So - with same price offering: 85x95k or 85z9J ?
That higher brightness and deeper color saturation of the X95K helps with clarity and 3 dimensionality. Thanks for the comparison
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching
That Sony is bananas. Wow 😍
I hear very often in statements that both TVs look very similar, especially about the tones of colors. And sony is one the MASTER. -That is a big appreciation for samsung ... plus THIS oledic contrast. I feel that this is my next TV, unless the sons come up with something new. And they should ..
x95k for the win
Would like Sony A95K 55” but I am so in love of X95K because MasterDrive comeback I am open to go up 65” for a small to medium size living room
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Thankyou. I appreciate your help. I think the Samsung would be great.
@@loki76 I agree. Definitely have to see them in person.
Guys that is true with every single tv youtube vid ever made 😁
Enormously valuable and helpful comparison video ! Thank you for sharing it with us !
*Would a 77" QD-OLED be brighter than the 65" and 55" versions because of the larger pixels?*
In theory, they would measure the same, but larger panels appear perceptually brighter.
@@paulgrochowski3289 so will you get perceived brighter highlights?
Now I want to see the X95K against the QN90B.
would you say the X75K is better than the A90J?
I'm in the market for sony xr x95k, Samsung Qn95B or TCL C935. All 75'... Any insight on who has the best LED TV this year?
Great question! The X95K is excellent but lacks gaming features. The Samsung QN90B is better all around but lacks dolby vision and recently has had it's picture crippled by updates. I haven't seen the TCL. Right now the X95K wins
Sony had the best procesor. Prosesors are very important for picture quality yet not many people talk about it. The Samsung is also great and a good price
Excellent comparison. Sony excels in color, contrast, brightness, vividness...in everything!!
I just game an surf web on pc rtx 3080 would u go with the x95k or qn 90b im scared of burn in on oled I play alot of mmos wow ect cod I use it as a moniter or wait for 2023 models
