Still riding my 2002 RKC I purchased in November 2001. Luxury Blue over Diamond Ice paint. Rare color scheme. Beautiful machine that still looks and runs like new. 85K on the clock.
@geraldgoodiii6993 Yup. Also, I believe 2002 was the last year with a welded crankshaft before switching to a pressed crankshaft. HD went cheap on the compensator nut after 2002 as well.
Dealers in Australia are over stocked with 2024 models they cant sell , and are heavily discounted ... But HD is putting there prices up , thats a very strange business strategy ..
I hope HD brings back the roadking classic too. I got a few decades out of a electraglide classic. When the roadking 1st came out in '94 it was basically the same bike except with a gas tank with the classic speedometer & ignition key and of corse a better looking headlight surround. You had all the ergonomic and fine handling of an FLT just was classic no frills. Lately it seems like the design people at Harley-Davidson are leaning more toward the urban customers. It makes some sense really being that over the last couple decades many a sport bikes rider has switched over to the Harley-Davidson brand. But there's still so many of us who still appreciate classic styling that don't want to lay out the coin for the icons. I was in the local harley dealership recently to buy some parts and it was packed with unsold new bikes. I looked at them of corse. Nearly everything was trimmed in black. I really want the company to survive. It's an American company that has built machines the world loves for a long time. I believe the biggest problem is the economy of corse being around during the late president Jimmy Carter's administration it was the same thing, Slow sales & high interest rates most unnecessary things didn't sell well. From what I've seen the current harley davidson motorcycles are better then ever to ride, but the technology makes them less likely to hold up for the long term. I doubt very much you'll get 30 years out of the new bikes.
Happy New Year, Jerry. Stopped by my local H-D dealer, searching for a mint 48. Sales manager told me they can't move RevMax bikes. They currently will let their RevMax bikes go at dealer invoice... he said he STILL can't move them at that price. For the past several years, H-D color and tank graphics have been aesthetically abysmal. The '24 tank badge on SG and RG look like something you'd get out of a 10 cent bubble gum machine. The "new" H-D is a severe disappointment.
I'm looking forward to the 2025 Road King Classic coming back. This time, I hope it's not a limited run like the icon models. Also, I hope they remain true to the design of the classic model as much as possible.
Happy New Year, Jerry. Thanx for this video. I have a 2013 Road King Classic which I LOVE it. As I understand it, this was the last year HD offered the Classic version. It is an absolute CLASSIC. Even today, 12 years later, it turns heads and makes folks smile. I've have other bikes too but my Classic is my "forever" bike - I will not part with it!
Happy New Year Motorman! How about an Evel Knievel tribute bike? Better yet, an Evel Knievel street version of his XR750 all decked out in Red, White and Blue. 🇺🇸
Perhaps they could dress some of the new fangled sportsters in Evil Knievel paint or wrap to boost sales? I understand the bikes are quite capable. Might get more interested in it. Perhaps Harley-Davidson should start a suggestion pole for models since there's such a long legacy to tap into that they seem to miss. They are trying as hard as the current late night talk show comedians to be "hip" in designs that they overlook great things to tap into IMHO.
I still have my RKC that I bought used with 1,400 miles on it back in 2012. Other than Stage II, Legend suspension and daymakers, it’s all stock, and now has 50K miles. Still looks like it came off the showroom floor. Not my daily rider or tourer any more (that’s my Goldwing DCT Tour), but for Saturday rides with my wife on back, it’s the best.
Road King Classic was a great looking bike and should never have been cut. I like the Road King Special (I bought one) but if the Classic had been in the lineup a couple years ago I would have bought that instead. Bring it back.
HD takes a long time after listening to customers - to sometimes acting on what the customers say. This customer would love to see a new for 2025 Road King Standard with a 117 M8, decent suspension and no extra frills on dealer floors for just under $20k. I'm sure they would sell a lot of those.
Yes. People will switch to cheap bikes like Gold Wings that are only 26k to 32k, or Indians that are cheap at half the price at only 24k to 38.5k or those dirt cheap BMW's that are 25K to 35k.
I actually think this might be the worst year for Harley in decades. I hope not being a Harley guy, but they’ve had some miscues lately - rev max bikes don’t sell and many dealers aren’t even going sell them this year, prices are getting too expensive, they need the real sportster, a Softail deluxe springer would be very cool and lower prices by 10%.
I'd love to see another Road King with the 114 or the 117 engine in it. Especially another Police version. I got one from 2018 with the 107. That thing is a tank! Sturdy and practical
Add 10,000 because its an "icon "... greedy ceo wants it to be exclusive, good luck in the future, H.D. Thirty five year Harley rider, happy with my 2016 Road King, thank you very much !
Happy New Year! In 2025 HD will continue to run itself into the ground by raising all MSRP, at least on the GA Touring line by a min of 2k in anticipation of increased tariffs thus increasing their already ridiculous prices!
I really like my 2018 Road King, at almost 70 my next bike ( if there is a next bike) will be smaller. I like the looks of the Bonneville and maybe A Honda 700 Transalp? Is that what it’s called? Maybe even a 650 Royal Enfield scrambler, but another Harley is doubtful. I’ve ridden them for a long time
The standard was my favorite bike of all time. If mine weren't wrecked I'd still have it instead of a RG. I would've bought another RK over a RG if I could.
I purchased a brand new black Road King Classic from Dudley Perkins in San Francisco, back in '99... I was so f****** happy, I asked the girl who drove me to Frisco, if she wanted to get married? Biggest mistake of my life!!! Not the bike, the bike was great. I had the shop add a removable passenger backrest. Because the windshield is removable. The one thing I didn't really care for too much was the fact that those hard case leather saddlebag... we're not lockable?!! I guess I shouldn't complain because my first bike didn't have saddlebags, didn't have shocks,, unless those little 3-inch Springs underneath my Gary bang seat, count as suspension? Didn't have electric start. Didn't even have a locking steering on the forks and frame? I kept a padlock for my front disc brake. I can't remember how many times I'd forgotten to take that lock off... but there's always an audience of pretty girls to see me drop it on the ground. Revving my Panhead making all kinds of noise. Primed for a burnout... drop that clutch and that front disc gets one rotation and then stops. Give me my bike on the ground and I'm trying to act like I meant to do that. The best thing about buying road king... it saves me from having to suffer those type of embarrassments.
Ooof, I think you your prediction about the economy is completely wrong, but what I am excited about is the prospect of a Street Glide Ultra. I heard a rumor that there were filings for a model designated "FLHXU," and since they are discontinuing the Ultra Limited this year, this might be the move.
Hey Motorman, I'm really surprised that over the past 3 years that despite more people employed in high paying jobs than ever before that HD sales continue to decline. Is it price the only issue?
My favorite Harley dealer here in Colorado was going to close out if Kamala was elected. Now they've reversed course, and they're sticking it out. Happy New Year to you and yours Jerry!
The dip stick and his sissy board are over due for a career change at Harleys front office. Been riding Harleys for 68 years. See Harleys ups and downs over the years and hung in there with them. Now at my time in life, wouldn’t spend a nickel at the dealerships. Can’t afford to be screw over with the ridiculous inflated prices. Do my own maintenance. Have no use for a dealers shop. I see the new Harleys as pure unadulterated crap with junk parts. Sad that Harley has lost the thought about craftsmanship and keeping the stockholder rich. But that hasn’t worked well for that theory. Harley better make some changes soon or their history just like Indian 1953 and 2005.
My 2005 Road King Classic runs just fine.
Still riding my 2002 RKC I purchased in November 2001. Luxury Blue over Diamond Ice paint. Rare color scheme. Beautiful machine that still looks and runs like new. 85K on the clock.
I also have a 2002 RKC in those colours. I have seen several others also, maybe not that rare but still very nice. Real Teal is harder to find.
2002 is the last year of the timken bearing on the bottom end yea ?
After that the bottom ends went down hill
@geraldgoodiii6993 Yup. Also, I believe 2002 was the last year with a welded crankshaft before switching to a pressed crankshaft. HD went cheap on the compensator nut after 2002 as well.
I have no clue why in blazes they ever discontinued the Road King Classic to begin with.
Happy new year Jerry, and thanks for being here and sharing your experience and your thoughts with us.
Thank you motor Man for staying on top of the latest models for us.
Had an 05 FLHRCI and now on a 13 FLHR copper colour anniversary. Long live the king . Greetings and HNY man from Glasgow Scotland.👑👑👑
A ride around Loch Lomond would be nice!
We as consumers need to quit giving HD a pass on raising prices and building bikes overseas
Actually, I think the bags were the worst part of that bike to each their own I guess but I like the hard bags better
Dealers in Australia are over stocked with 2024 models they cant sell , and are heavily discounted ... But HD is putting there prices up , thats a very strange business strategy ..
Thank you sir. Have a Safe, Healthy, and Happy New Year to you & yours too.
Happy New Year Jerry! I would like to see Harley come out with a Heritage Springer again. Those bikes looked fantastic and sold really well.
The Road King was historically so good anyone that ever bought one still has it.
I hope HD brings back the roadking classic too.
I got a few decades out of a electraglide classic.

Happy New Years Jerry I hope y’all had a very blessed Christmas

Happy New Year Motto Man. Oh no I got the last year in 2022 of the Road King standard and just love it.
Happy New Year Jerry! Yes, a great icon would be the 1st silver Fatboy. A true, simple, Harley with great classic lines.
I have a 2011 RK Classic, cool blue pearl. Stage 4. Love that bike and will never get rid of it.
Happy New Year, Jerry Palladino!
Happy New Year Jerry & Donna.
my first motorcycle , 2009 HD ROAD KING CLASSIC - 2 tone green/ creme -the best looking ,imo .. happy 2025 JP ~ JDS/CT
Happy New Year Jerry 🤠👍🏻
Roadking Custom was a nice bike. Lower seat height
Good video Gerry Happy New Year to you and your family
Harley CEO, Bring the prices down for hard working blue collar workers. Focus on volume and keep production in the great USA!!
🎉 Happy New Year! 🎉
Have to agree with you motorman, Harley does need a price leader in a class or two.
Happy New Year to you miss Donna and the staff there at Ride Like a Pro.
From Australia 🇦🇺🍹 Happy New Year Cobber 😊👍🏍
Yeah that Roadking classic in red is cool. Luv that silver old school Fatboy. I'd have one of those 👍
Happy and healthy new year to you and your family
Happy new year, hoping the road king classic makes a comeback in 2025👍👍
Road King Classic was a great looking bike and should never have been cut. I like the Road King Special (I bought one) but if the Classic had been in the lineup a couple years ago I would have bought that instead. Bring it back.

Happy New Year to you both and subscribers .🔔
Healthy and happy new year!
Happy New Year Jerry and Donna . I will stick with my old school Road King. Not supporting Woke Harley Davidson 😢
Happy New Year to you as well. Ride safe!
Happy New Year Mr. Palladino!!!!!!
Happy NewYear Jerry🎉
Love Roadkings. The hard leather bags I thought were best had no straps early 2000s
All Road King Classic hard leather saddlebags have straps to hold the lids down.
If I were to add a 2nd bike to the stable it would probably be a Road King.
I had A 2009 RKC great bike well balanced.
Prices rumored to go up. Sales are going to continue to decline. Harley pricing itself out of the market.
Yes. People will switch to cheap bikes like Gold Wings that are only 26k to 32k, or Indians that are cheap at half the price at only 24k to 38.5k or those dirt cheap BMW's that are 25K to 35k.
I will stick my 2021 Ultra since HD is not making them anymore!
Heard on the new ones there is a plastic oil pan now? To me, the switch gear feels different than my 18 RK.
Happy New Year to you and your lovely wife ❤
Motoman, 2025-2026 will see America back after a long winter of despair.
I'd like to see a return of FXRT. Best bike Harley ever made.

I don’t see the RK Classic coming back in this market. Unless they use the Heritage bags.
Aztec orange
I luv the road king classic my 1st hd. 😊
Happy New Year
If they brought back the rk standard, I'd buy one new. Till then I'll keep riding my 07flhtcu . Not everyone is short.
The standard was my favorite bike of all time. If mine weren't wrecked I'd still have it instead of a RG. I would've bought another RK over a RG if I could.

Harley realizes they screwed up so now they’re trying so hard to move inventory
When will HD release the new 2025 models for us to see?
1-28-25
@@stephenbattles4573 Got it! Thank you.
Road king classic is the best
The Road King Classic is Harley-Davidson!!!!!!! From your mouth to God's ears
There is a 2025 road king police 😈
Happy new year Motorman! Have a great 2025.😊
If the road king only ran as good as it looks🙏
really liked the fatboy touring model
Interesting stuff 😂
Happy New Year Jerry 🎉
Happy New Year to you and your family!
Happy Healthy New year 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for Sharing and Careing
Way to overpriced and poor service and to high of prices to have your bike worked on!
We need to sell more bikes..
I know ! Raise the price
Happy New Year Jerry!!
Happy New Year to you!
Happy new year!
I'm pulling for the Road King Standard, RK Classic has laced wheels and that's a no go for me.
Check out the Indian Springfield. If you get the quick release for the bags you could go for the stripped down look
Check out the Indian Springfield. And if you add the quick release to the bags, you can actually cruise while still looking good.
Happy new year 😊
We missed training classes
wishing they would make a zero tech, simple blacked out break-out. have great 2025

You have to be a special kind of person to buy a brand new harley
Hey Motorman, I'm really surprised that over the past 3 years that despite more people employed in high paying jobs than ever before that HD sales continue to decline. Is it price the only issue?
I've always liked the street glide, but the hyda glide sure catches my eye
The MC industry is in a state of flux, everything is evolving
My favorite Harley dealer here in Colorado was going to close out if Kamala was elected. Now they've reversed course, and they're sticking it out.
Happy New Year to you and yours Jerry!
Happy New Year Sir, I can't support Woke Harley Davidson!
Me neither. I'll keep my 2005 Road King, cause it was made BEFORE Harley went woke.... No NEW Harleys for me though.
Happy New Year Jerry.
I love my 2004 Road King. Bought new and now has over 109,000 miles.
