🤩Chapter 4 may very well be my favorite of the John Wick movies along with the very first John Wick. I didn't think it was possible to elevate the fight sequences, cinematography, and story even more than the last 3 chapters but they NAILED IT! I was shocked by the ending and in absolute disbelief, left wondering whether or not this was the end of the John Wick movies😮 What do you think about the ending? Will there be a Chapter 5?🤔Great acting all around -- Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Laurence Fishburne, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgard, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Hiroyuki Sanada --- great cast and incredible performances!
Your reactions to the gross parts were hilarious lol
I think the fourth John Wick is my fav I even wear my black suit to theaters watching it and I think there might be a 5 cause it was an end credits sequel Lauren !!!🖤
They are working on the 5th one. Also coming soon is a spin-off movie (Ballerina) next year along with the show (The Continental) this September.
The gun you like so much had Dragon breath rounds in it. I'm sure some one else will tell you all about how they works.
did you notice winston had the tattoo of the ruska roma on his wrist?
Keanu Reeves has stated in interviews that this is not the end of john wick. He eluded to the fact his death was just a ruse. And they are filming John Wick 5.
It was suggested that the comment at the grave site, "It appears so." implies maybe he's still alive and it was just a ploy.
"I can't believe John made it out alive!"
Me: uh oh
So, Scott Adkins, the guy who played the fat guy, is a bad ass martial artist. He's been in a ton of action movies over the years and started opposite Donnie Yen (Caine in JW4) in the movie Ip Man 4: The Finale.
Dragon's Breath is magnesium fragments that ignite when fired. Not something you'd want to use in a building if you plan on keeping it. He fired it using a Genesis 12 semi-automatic shotgun. Both of these items are commercially available in most states in the US. Also included in that list is the backpack armor vest, of which there are several manufacturers. These came into being after multiple active shootings in the US, people wanted to have the option available in case. You can even get them in child sizes as per school scenarios. Not the world we want to live in, but it is the world we find ourselves in. Its more like John Wick than we think.
Wow very interesting! 😲
Dragon's Breath rounds are illegal in several states, to my knowledge (including California). And they are pretty costly, probably $30 something for 4 shells. In reality, they are 'gimmick' rounds. The pellets itself deal less damage than your normal buckshot, but the fire can burn up to 5000 degrees Fahrenheit and shoots as far as 30 meters. It is indeed very dangerous when fired inside buildings. It is very useful though if you're fighting vampires.
Great reaction as always Laurenn, miss you, hope all is well.
Your reaction was awesome from start to finish. The whole sequence with Scott Adkins was my favorite part of the movie, and his character's demise was brutal. The more I stew on it, I think this might be the best in the series. If they never made another John Wick movie I'd be alright with that, but if they did I'd be here for it
Thank you Awake I'm glad you enjoyed my reaction, Chapter 4 was awesome. I'd be alright too if they stopped here with the John Wick movies, this was a good place to end it honestly.
The expression on Adkins face in his death scene is priceless!
It was hard to take his character 100% seriously solely for the fact that Scott Adkins is jacked, and he was clearly wearing a prosthetic suit. Instead of fighting like a fat guy, he fought like a ripped dude wearing a fat suit.
I absolutely love all the new camera work the storyboard gives us with each new John Wick film. That top down view felt like a video game!
Those top down, birds eye view shots were SUPER COOL!!! I loved it!
@@LoveLaurennIf you love the John Wick series as much as I do then I suggest another movie for you, called SISU. The same studio behind John Wick also owns the rights to the movie so it’s heavily inspired by John Wick.
The producers said they also based that shot off of the video game called Hong Kong Massacre, and if you look at the gameplay you can definitely see the inspiration, it's uncanny.
I think that shot alone set in stone that this is the best action movie made in decades.
I'll just pretend that the scene with the Dragon's Breath is a scene from Constantine 2 🤣
This entire series has been spectacular, and somehow they manage to up their game in every movie. Love the storytelling and the way this movie was shot and the introduction to more lore and more characters.
did you miss the post credit scene? a prequel series thats about winston is coming out soon called just The Continental
Im new to your channel. Gotta say i loved your reaction alot🔥💯. You're so adorable! Subbed 😍
Oh this movie was savage...from start to finish. A personal favorite part is the character Killa (the fat guy) who was played by stunt man turned actor Scott Adkins. The Marquis was a really good villian and inspired the type of hate a villian should. Donnie Yen, almost 60, and is still more nimble than most half his age. And a sad goodbye to Charon and actor Lance Redfick. So many Woah moments in this 2 hour and 50 minite fight scene...😁😉. Lauren this was soooooo much fun to watch with you. Thank you for all that you do.❤
They got the idea for that woman broadcasting over the radio from the 1978 movie The Warriors.
They even if I'm not mistaken did a close-up on her face like that when she was speaking on the microphone.
I love how they reference the 1979 movie The warriors directed by Walter Hill
Great reaction like always amazing, did you know that Killa (the fat dude) is portrait by the legendary martial artist and stunt double Scoot Adkins that why he is pretty flexible .
I love how Scott Adkins chuckles between sentences.
This film brought me back to the cinema for the first time in years, bloody brilliant movie. You might want to quickly check out the post-credits scene though
Thank you for this awesome reaction! Your perspective was welcome and enjoyable. Great great job.
I really like the fact that John's poker hand was the Ace of Spades, Ace of clubs, Eight of Spades and Eight of clubs. As it was said this is the "Deadman's Hand." It got that distinction because it was rumored that Wild Bill Hickok had that poker hand when he was shot and killed at the table.
Really loved your reaction to John Wick 4 Lauren.😃🥰
They unknowningly made a smart move by killing Charon on screen, given Lance's later passing. Gave his character a good send off instead of having to explain off screen why he doesn't show up. This is, of course, if they make a 5th movie.
I absolutely love the camera work around the Dragon's Breath fight. Fucking amazing.
The last thing I expected from this movie was for it to become The Warriors complete with a DV calling the action to all the boppers
so refreshing seeing someone react authentically! just finished ur TLOU series , so amazing
LoveLaurenn making references to Part2 & 3 - Bravo, girl. You keep scoring points in my book
30:15 In case you're wondering WTF kind of gun or loads John Wick is using, Lauren. It is a real load. It's a shotgun with a Dragon Breath load. As you can see, it's a rather wicked load & does shoot fire. Of course, here it's CGI, but they used the dragon breath loads as an example for the CGI.
Nice to see you back. Great reaction as always! I assume you saw the post credit scene? We do have more John Wick universe coming up. A spinoff called 'Ballerina', and the mini-series The Continental. John Wick 5...? Maybe... If you like Donnie Yen, watch a movie called Flash Point. Amazing fight scenes. See you for the next one!
I randomly found you on twitch few months ago then I randomly found your videos now. Miracle.
The DJ complete, with "Nowhere to Run," is obviously an homage to Walter Hill's "The Warriors" (1970), but I wonder if John burning/branding his forearms is an homage to the "Kung Fu" TV series from the 1970s.
John wick - He Grieved
John wick 2 - He Raged
John wick 3 - He Bargained
John wick 4- He Accepted
John wick 5- He resurrected
I don't think there should be a fifth movie, because then it would just be milking the franchise. Besides, how would the team possibly top the fourth film? Even if they could from an action standpoint, what would be meaningful about the plot? John got exactly what he wanted after movie #4. He got revenge, stood against the Table and won, and successfully honored his wife's memory. There is nothing after that.
@@JWFas john wick 5 is in Production
I think its a prequel about how John get the name baba yaga
Hi Lauren hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
The shotgun you mentioned, it was firing a movie version of what's known as Dragon's Breath rounds. They're incendiary shotgun shells with magnesium pellets loaded. Nasty as hell
20:07 The first time I played poker, I immediately and unironically thought "I would LOVE this game if I could tell what everybody else's cards were." That's embarrassing to admit.
I cried three times during this. The first time was the first appearance of Lance Reddick because of his death the week before the premiere. The second was the shootout in the beginning because the use of the Red Circle music from the first one with the scene because I loved them bring it back back. The last was the death of John Wick because, as much as I have loved this series, I realized this was the best way to end it. I still get weepy as soon as John and Caine get ready for the duel.
Scott Adkins throwing those kicks in a fat suit is still so surreal! 😂🤣🤣🤣👍😎👍
it was quite impressive lol
My favorite will always be chapter 1. But the best action sequences have to go to the last one.
I still wonder if Winston said “My son” metaphorically or literally. That’ll always bother me, in a good way, I won’t be able to stop thinking about it and what it meant throughout the series lol
Did you notice that Winston had a Russka Roma tattoo on his wrist? Hmm..
Metaphorically. He would most likely have used his real name instead of Johnathan.
The best thing about the ending is that they hint heavily at it throughout the movie, there was no other way.
I reeeeeallly hope they dont go back on it to do a 5th one.
31:00 Lauren, you commented about a bird's eye view angle for this. Just a fun FYI, for this bird's eye view & what not, they did ALL of this in ONE TAKE. One straight up, continuous shot.
John is alive and well. Take a good look at his grave, something doesn't belong. Also Winston's response to the King's question should clue you in. If not, just remember, John is an expert at shooting people in the head. He could of ended that duel in 1 shot but he didn't. Keep note of where John was shot. He's 100% alive.
12 ga. shotgun loaded with Dragon's Breath rounds, magnesium pellets.
Yes, it is a real ammo.
Loved your reaction Lauren. I love that you caught visuals. At the end with Church at top of stairs. Where John knew Caine his friend was doing this against his will. He knew the table held something over him. John chose to lose so his friend would be free and his daughter too. His friend calling him brother. But the lighting and scene where church in middle and the darkness giving way to light. That you can almost see that through that visual 1) John's darkness is finally able to be let go and the light coming back into him. AKA a man's soul being judge not just for the bad but the good. John had a code. He didn't harm kids, he held friendship is high regard. He wanted to be out and not kill anymore. So, the light dispelling the darkness at a church. WOW the symbolism just broke me.
John Wick is the baba yaga, the one you send to kill the boogeyman, sheer unadulterated badass. Pure freaking strength of will, he only rested when he finally got the job done, and got what he wanted.
I love watching Donnie Yen and instantly recognised Hiroyuki Sanada (sometimes known as Henry Sanada) after having recently watched him in the early Hong Kong films _Ninja in the Dragon’s Den_ and _Royal Warriors_ (the latter being one in which he co-starred with Michelle Yeoh).
Marko Zaror I know from a Chilean action film called _Kiltro_ (2006).
I needed a nice distraction from this crazy day at work, thanks ❤
Aces and Eights, the Dead man's hand. Supposedly the hand Wild Bill Hickok was holding, when he was shot in the back of the head.
"Where would John Wick's story be if he didn't die?" On a beach in the Caribbean. :)
That lengthy action sequence that’s largely viewed from above and is *all in one continuous take* is just mind-boggling.
I loved it! So freaking cool!
😮 Those shotgun shells are known as dragon's breath
I absolutely loved your reactions to this video!!
You are right Lauren, these films are so much fun, I’d be alright if this was it. Great franchise.
I love that song
You don't just survive 3 hits from a 44 Magnum. Arms or shoulder don't survive that either.
U also dont survive 3 story fall and multiple hits from a car
Imo John was just at hit limit in taking damage by the time the duel happened.
So happy to see you reacting to the 4th John Wick movie.
Great Video I Absolutely Love John Wick 4 Its my Favorite Movie Of The Year So Far The John Wick Franchise Is Awesome And If This Is The Last One It Was A Good Ending To The Franchise Also Good News I Shared This Video On My Channel
You’re channel is amazing. I have only seen the first John Wick. Keanu is great. Love seeing first time reactions! Just watched your “ The Thing” reaction. Yeah that movie is bonkers! Freaky but really cool. I always wanted a sequel but I think the prequel isn’t a bad flick.
Caught this in Dolby Cinema. It looked & sounded sooooo nice that way. Look forward to gettin it on 4K disc and firing it up on the OLED at some point.
Was fun watching this reaction from you. Will be interesting to see what they do in Chapter 5 as well as the Ballerina spin-off
The unsung heroes of these films are the production designers and the cinematographers. Beautiful sets, beautifully lit.
I agree, they really did an incredible job
90% sure John isn't dead. Keanu has said he'd basically keep doing these films forever, so it's safe to say he'll come back eventually.
Edit: In the meantime, there is the newe three part Peacock original series The Continental, which shows Winston in his younger days. There is also the game John Wick Hex. It takes place before the films and isn't very complex for a game, but the combat requires a lot of strategy and planning. And I'm fairly sure the bird's eye scenes in Chapter 4 are a nod to the game, which is played entirely from a bird's eye view.
Edit 2: Also, if you liked these moves, you'll love Nobody as well. The plot structure is very similar to the first John Wick, but the reason everything is started is fsr pettier and almost makes the entire film more enjoyable. Also, the final fight has a really cool setting with lots of creative kills.
Great review haven't seen this movie yet 😊
I like to think they helped john fake his death so no one comes after him, also gives room to either cut it off or if Keanu after his break wants 1 more the options their
I love this video and this beautiful with the tattoos
Hey Laurenn, The one who played the fat guy is Scott Adkins AKA Boyka, I think you should make a reaction on him, his movie name called Undisputed 2
Let's freaking gooo! This is my fav out of all the JW movies. A true masterpiece and great way to 'end?' the franchise
In my mind, John is still alive. This one ended the same way the 1st one began...John all messed up, we see him fall over, but later he gets up[we actually see it in JW1]. Thats how i take it. But it really can go either way...they he can really be dead, and they keep him that way...or he's really alive and they can make another movie
I cannot overstate how desperately I need the fight choreography team for these movies to work on Star Wars and Batman. Both would be incredibly fun to watch and, at least for Star Wars, present a new flavor of lightsaber combat.
Pay attention to the dog in the cemetery scene at the end. It's a hint.
One thing nobody ever talks about… How good is John’s cardio?
Pain is how they communicate
So you didn't watch the end credit scene? Or did I miss it?
Now it's time to watch A Scanner Darkly. Be sure to stay through the post credits dedication.
There is an end credit.😊
Im pretty sure that the shots John received at the end were similar to the shots that he delivered to the Doc in JW3 (key maker in the matrix) to keep him alive.
Im not sure but I want to see the "impossible task"
The fat guy is Scott Adkins he's a stuntman and martial artist. He was wearing a heavy fat suit in his scenes
They just announced they're going to make John wick 5 😁
Donnie Yen is a mega martial arts artist. my favorite movie´s are IP man 1+2
Wonderful reaction! I wonder what LoveLaurenn has planned next for us!
Absolutely magnificent!!
Great reaction 🔥💯
I'll love to see you reaction about the 5ft element movie with Bruce willis and Hot Shots! Part Deux. I see you from Mexico
12-gauge shotgun loaded with Dragon's Breath ammo, a magnesium and metal round that lights in contact with oxygen. Depending on the amount of magnesium and type of metal it has been known to liquify or soften the metal fired.
30:42 Magnesium bullets.
So did you not watch the post credits scene?
Laurenn... you're not familiar with Donnie Yen... Damn... you're missing out... The Blind Man plays Bruce Lee's Master in the "Ip Man" Movies. He's also in Blade 2.
Well there is going to be a chapter 5. It is confirmed :) there is trailers here on youtube about it
I stopped my movie to watch this 😂😂
He's still alive.
John didn’t actually die. Winston is part of his Russian family. It is a ploy to get the Table off their back.
Did you watch the end credit scene?
My respect to Chad,Keanu and their whole crew for being consistent. The JW franchise just keeps getting better and better and I'm a sucka for the JW lore and terminologies and stuff. Well done gentlemen. A few franchise that i won't mention by name can learn a thing or two from Chad and his team.
You need to rewatch the film as there is a post-credits scene. Not gonna spoil it for you.
If you love John Wick, you're gonna fall in love with Tyler Rake in "Extraction" and "Extraction 2".
there is an end credit scene you need to check out
Laurence Fishburne....hehe.....Apocalypse Now.....that´s the beginning of Laurence Fishburne. he was 16 i mean 1976 (Apocalypse Now 1976-79)
Hello Laurenn!! This is the reaction I was waiting for!!! 🤗 I hope that one day you will have the opportunity to watch "IP MAN" with Donnie Yen.
Did you watch the post-credits scene? Actually, I seriously hope that John isn't dead. Otherwise, everything he has done and all those who had died would be for absolutely nothing.
Hope you caught the stinger at the end of the credits?
End credit scene!!!
Hello new subscriber here and your super stunning and beautiful and fun fact every male actor in this movie had at least 10 years martial arts experience wich makes this even better
Maybe a spinoff with the hunter.
