- This is my Third Maiden flight of the day - It started off with No Ailerons !! and ended up with enough juice left in the old Lipos for me to add another 3 Mins to the flight time.. I forgot how much fun these little 50mm EDF jets can be.

Hello from Brazil, Excellent Channel !!
Hello Brazil - Thanks for watching and leave this nice comment - Hope to see your around on other videos, Cheers..
Great maiden flight, Martyn. Love the UFO outro... 🛸🛸🛸
Hi Gina - thank you - The Intro has also changed to match, it was a nice flight enjoyable for a maiden - the L-39 is a nice 50mm to add to the T33 and Viper.. (I sold the Hawk) ... Stay well - give my regards to Hubster - Martyn
Hey Martyn, great recovery from the ‘death dip’ @ launching, well done. On a breezy day for you as the Autumn winds gather.
I think the tip to the right was me - grabbing the stick and moving it - still all is well that ends well, that's about all we can count on these days , is the wind - Winter, Spring Summer and Fall (Autumn) - Wind , Wind, Wind and just for a change Wind.. Stay well Noel and look after yourself and your loved ones- All the best - Winter is coming (for me) - Martyn
Yep she dipped a bit on launch, this hand launching thing is always a heart in the mouth moment!! But you recovered well and flew a good maiden flight 😀👍
Hi Ian - indeed she did - in fact although I lost the video on the Maiden +1 - she failed to launch three times due to dipping to the Right and hitting the ground, - This will be something I need to take a look into - but once going she is great, I found it better to fly with the Gyro off than On.. the AS3X make it wobble too much in these conditions... Hope all is well - Martyn
This baby Albatross must've been a little scared to take flight. It certainly found it's wings though.
Great flight Martyn,
AirHammer out!!
Hi Airhammer - My L-39 dipped to the Right on the Maiden +1 - had to launch three times before I made it into the sky - something I will have to investigate - we cannot have it doing this every time - thanks for watching and catching up LOL... Stay well - Martyn OUT !
Martyn I thought you were going to do a maiden touch n go there for a second! I enjoy the 50mm jets, Simple and fun! Nice flying my friend!
Hi Adam AS DID I !!! on and "your living in the past, Quit living in the past" - quote from Homer Simpson - LOL - Me, Touch and go at Launch - I say - Never... LOL... it was close - I agree you cannot beat a good old Bank and Yank 50 or 64mm EDF - Stay well - regards to you family - Winter is Coming ...Ummm that reminds me I must re-watch Game of Thrones, Martyn
@FlankerTanker you mean "game of boobies".

Great maiden flight martyn, probably a wind gust on the take off.. jeff.
it could indeed have been the wind - but as I replied to Sean, I am also thinking it might have been me - as it was doing ok until I got hold of the right stick....... time will tell - Stay safe - Martyn.
I think that battery is a little too big. I go 3S 1500 or 4S 1300 max. I've come to realize with these 50mm jets that battery weight is absolutely critical. They select the power plant with the final flying weight in mind and if it's too heavy it can be hard to fly. I've found the ideal battery weight to be 130-140 grams. These jets are amazing for the money, though. I have 2 Vipers with more than 50 flights on each and the Avanti with more than 100. The L-39 will be next. Still going strong! Also, gorgeous flying field. You are most lucky!
Hi and thanks for the comment - with hindsight I agree with you out of all the 50mm (singles) I have had (crashed one (this) and sold the others - I only have kept the Viper , I have made a lot of flights with it some which have been posted here on the channel - it handles 2200 4S well - but I can see how on a 1300 it would be even better - thanks
Good vid , cool the flight could be longer
Hi Iron Mover - I think I can get a good 6 mins from this on the 2800's - I called my model shop today and have asked for another two batteries to be put to one side for me, will start to use them on the 50mm T33 and Viper rather than the 2200's.. Stay well - Martyn
Great maiden and recovery from the twitch Martyn, could it have been a gust from a crosswind?
Hi Sean good to see you here - it could indeed have been the wind - but I am also thinking it might have been me - as it was doing ok until I got hold of the right stick....... time will tell - Hope you are well - Martyn..
The 2800 might be a bit heavy. The recommended 3s 1300 or a 1500 (when probably balanced of course) should make the launches less sketchy. Looks like you will still get a solid 5 minute flight out of one of those. The plane seems very efficient. Nice flight and good flying.
I normally fly these on a 2200 4s - but our model shop is doing a range of 2800 3s and 4s that are the same weight as the 2200 - I then not to use the recommended battery size in these don't know why just don't , agree regarding the launches - but then again this was a 3s and not a 4s - I have found they launch (they being the Viper, T33, Hawk and this) without issues using the 4S.. I was once told you can fly a barn door with enough power.... this one did not last long - about three flights and then I crashed (as I did not have it long enough to get attached I trashed it for parts) - do not think it was pilot error, I lost two aircraft on the same day in the same area ?? - but it is what it is ..Onwards and Upward - thanks for watching and leaving your comment - Martyn
@@FlankerTanker that sounds about right, with good power and good balance they should continue in the attitude you threw it for a stress free launch. Do a range check on your receiver. Sometimes they get old and crap out. I've had to take a couple out of service recently that were reliable in the past. Unfortunately now they don't range check past Spectrum's recommended 30 meters. That plane looks so cool (L 39) I might pick one up when Hobbyzone (in the US) gets them back in. International shipping from Asia is very expensive now.
Those jets fly great on 4s
Yes they do - I have the complete set I fly them on both 3s (2800) and 4s (2200) soon to become 2800 - the only one I sold was the Hawk - guess its because I am British - I didn't want one.. go figure - thanks for your Comment -
Needs 4s and a FF of seven minutes😂
Yes I have the T33 and Viper, I sold the Hawk - I fly them on 3s and 4s 2200 - these 2800 are new batteries to me - so trying out two 3s and then will get 2 x 4s for these little 50mm edf's.. thanks for watching and leaving your comment - Cheers..
