The funny thing about that comment is LT played a lot of pick up basketball against Michael at UNC and supposedly nobody played tougher defense against him
I was at a Giants game years ago, and we were getting our asses handed to us. At halftime, they gave Lawrence Taylor some award on the field, and a guy sitting near me yelled, "GET THE MAN A DIME BAG AND SUIT HIM UP! OUR DEFENSE IS SHIT!"
My favorite fact about LT is that he was featured in a Sopranos episode playing poker at Tony's 2nd executive card game. And Tony even bowed in respect to "Sir Lawrence of the Meadowlands"
Having LT was like having The Hulk on your defense.....pretty much unstoppable. Players today get a hangnail and sit out half the season. LT was playing and dominating with a torn pec muscle! Unbelievable.
We often describe the most talented musicians as virtuosos. Individuals who are so talented that they make what they do appear effortless. I think LT is a football virtuoso. To start at such a late age and to become the best ever...that's virtuosity.
There are fringe arguments against Brady as the GOAT, primarily the choke job in the Superbowl with a record setting undefeated team or deflate-gate which are still flimsy. But I've never heard a solid argument of any other defensive player being the GOAT, it's undisputed with LT. You'll get some bogus arguments from homer fans thinking someone like Ray Lewis was better but everyone outside of that team knows it's BS. What an absolute monster, and doing most of this while high on crack which this video glosses over lol
I'm so fortunate to have grown up in the time where I was able to watch him play. No one even comes close to him. About quarterbacks - Brady is surely the best at the end of his career, but before him you could make a great case for Joe Montana. Absolutely amazing player, and he played with the greatest wide receiver of all time, Jerry Rice
Lawrence Taylor was dominant monster back in the Day there hasn't been to many Linebackers since that can dominate the game of football since the only linebackers I can think of that dominate like LT is Ray Lewis
Ray Lewis was great and a Hall of Famer, no doubt. But, he didn't revolutionize the Mike linebacker position. Taylor revolutionized not only the position of edge rusher, he completely changed the way coaches coach, the way GMs build teams, and the pay scale of multiple positions (LT, TE, QB, LB). There was never anyone like him before, and there hasn't been one like him since.
He is the second best defensive player I have ever seen. If you want to know the greatest defensive player I ever saw L.T. Can answer that question. Go ahead and goggle who L.T. Thinks is the greatest defensive player of all time.
Or how about we don't google it, and instead we just ignore your daft comment. Who gives homework in a RUclips comment? Not that anyone cares enough to actually google it anyway.
LT was the closest thing to a 'Michael Jordan' of NFL defensive players. The definition of unstoppable.
Facts!
The funny thing about that comment is LT played a lot of pick up basketball against Michael at UNC and supposedly nobody played tougher defense against him
Definitely.
If he just could've said no to the cocaine and the prostitudes
Especially that 16 yr old in a NJ motel room a few years back! 😬
Thankfully this was long before metoo was a thought, so no one really remembers it 😂

Great video! Do one on The Minister of Defense, Reggie White.
White was an absolute beast
He was great because he was always massively coked up.
He admitted to being high on crack cocaine every game
Not every game, but yeah he was often high haha He would have been great regardless, but it definitely helped.
@@willvr4 according to him it was “every game and practice”
The greatest defensive player of all time was Reggie White. He was unstoppable *and* not on drugs.

Yeah. Love the Giants and loved watching Lawrence Taylor and saw when he took out Joe Theimann.

@@kentgrady9226 i know that true but Just my opinion and thoughts
@@kentgrady9226it’s crazy that left tackle is the premier spot on the o-line now cause of Taylor
Wish I was alive to see him play, my father and granddad still talk about him being the best player they have ever seen
Awesome video.

He was cheating. I have no respect for that.
When LT retired my Cowboys made it back to the SB.
That timeline doesn’t match up at all.
@@Ssenivac when did LT retire.
@@Ssenivacas much as I hate cowboy fans for being cocky loud mouths. Pretty sure John was respecting LT's reign of dominance by that statement.
In the 80s nobody did cocaine better than L.T.😂❤😂.....Well maybe Mike Tyson
he did all that while on crack lmao
Seriously amazing
