I've never seen Steptoe and Son, but I used to watch the American show based on it called Sanford and Son back in the 1970's and Redd Foxx was a riot! BTW James, you may like Benny Hill but you will love Hill's Angels!
Your mom is the first person reacting that caught the Benny Hill joke that I've seen. I used to watch him all the time in the eighties. peace from Central Texas.
Benny Hill Show was funny as shit lol. watched it all as well.
I must say I love the tribute to Benny Hill at the end where the people are chasing him with the Benny Hill theme song. I loved The Benny Hill show which was a sketch comedy show back in the 1970s through the early 1980s.
I used to love watching Bennie Hill!
I also loved watching "Are you being served". Hilarious British comedy 😂
There's an ice cream shop here in San Francisco named Humphry Slocombe after Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Slocombe from "Are You Bring Served?"
LOVED "Are You Being Served"!!!
I think they called it Grace and Favor. Because they worked at Grace Brothers department store.
I remember when Charles (wanker!) and Dianna had their first baby. There was a joke here in the US, that they were going to name it Up, so they could say they were Up, Chuck, and Di.
7:36 Americans love Princess Diana very much.
Princess Diana was a wonderful gift to humanity! She was loved by most!
Loved Benny Hill. And Ma'am...you were correct. Diana was an incredible person. Greetings from Michigan!
I remember watching princess Dianas wedding when i was a kid. Diana was wonderful
"Steptoe & Son' became 'Sanford & Son' in US.
I was just about to say that
I’m from Texas and I loved Benny Hill when I was a kid! Yes, it was on American TV back in the day
It was more popular in the US than in the UK. It got cancelled because it was seen as sexist.
Benny Hill did visit the U.S. to do shows as well. In NY, he did a couple of 3 stooges acts in a park scene with the robber.
I think everyone loved princess Diana.
Yep, everyone here loved Princess Diana. We all were glued to our TVs when the crash happened, and when the funeral took place. Weeping like crazy.
Over here in the states , back in the 80's & 90's , Benny Hill was on late at night. Some years ago I got a hold of 10 VHS tapes "The Best of Benny Hill". And still have them to this day.
My mom stood in line to get me a Princess Diana Beanie Baby (I still have it somewhere). I was only six when she died but my mom told me she was a wonderful woman and from what I’ve learned since that absolutely seems to be the case.
My aunt though… she’s OBSESSED with the royal family. Not sure why, but I guess it’s a hobby?
She has lovely eyes.
A lot of people in the U.S where obsessed with Princess Diana. In the TV show night court one of the characters was obsessed with her and Prince Charles.
The world loved princess Diana
Me-Gain on the other hand, not so much.
We loved her in the USA too. I was just a teen. She ended up doing so much for the world. I LOVE Benny Hill!!!
I loved Diana. She was always so kind to everyone. She would go visit the children etc. Such a sweet and caring person.
The part where they're loudly clearing their throats reminds me of something that would be on Monty Python. 🤣
I love the expressions on James face whenever his mom got so many more jokes faster lol....definitely need more of James mom reacting to funny stuff....everyone loved Princess Diana....I remember all the news coverage & tributes we had over here in the states
I discovered Benny Hill on PBS (our local broadcast channel) back in the late 80’s and fell in love with British humor. That lead to “Are You Being Served”, Red Dwarf, and Doctor Who. Great stuff!
Benny Hill was a comedy legend 😂 Loved his show.
“Steptoe and Son” is one of the greatest sitcoms ever! Wilfrid Brambell and Harry Corbett were extraordinary actors, and the show successfully presented the human condition.... with a smile.
✨🌞✨
Princess Di was loved over here as well, especially during the 80s. Arguably more popular than the last few presidents
I remember that day very well. Here in the US, it was a major event. Very sad what happened to the people's princess.
Benny hill was very popular in usa
Love your Mom.
Loved Benny Hill! He was my introduction to British humor and I've been hooked ever since.
Love your mom's reactions lol! She's probably about my age (I'm in California born and raised). So much of this was made for a domestic US audience and (no shade on James and Millie), but many times younger people don't get the jokes or the sarcasm. It's all in good fun and yes, we LOVED the Queen and Princess Diana. Love to you both (:
I remember when Princess Diana died, the TV covered it for weeks and weeks afterward here in the United States. It was so sad!
Everyone is fair game on Family Guy.
The four best British imports to the US in order are 1) Led Zepplin, Monty Python, Benny Hill, and Marmite! You look great Mum!
Finally more family guy keep reacting to them
I was maybe 6 or 7 when it happened and I swear her death seemed like a HUGE deal even more so than the death of the queen in recent years. Obviously that is subjective.
Seemed like the generations before me LOVED her though.
I was six and remember seeing the funeral on TV. I had no idea who she was but my mom told me a bit about her at the time and it seemed like such a big thing. My mom even waited in line at a local toy store that had a limited number of the Beanie Baby to get it for me (I never asked but still have it!) Only time my parents ever cared about the royal family.
Mum's right you must watch Benny Hill, it's hilarious 😂
Yes she was so loved 🥰 Princess Diana was the first royal person I ever paid attention to.
My wife adored Princess Diana. She watched every second of her wedding. She cried hard when the news come out she was killed.
Mum videos are classic.
Not much will ever match the magic that is The Benny Hill Show.
We love Diana and the queen rest of them not even on our radar
America adored Princess Diane. She visited us several times. I personally saw her in Galveston TX.
Adorable Mum 🙏
Grew up with Benny Hill as my dad was a big fan of the show.
Funny how instead of British accent Stewie had a southern American accent while the rest had British accents.
Your mum is awesome.
I always love Princess D
I think everyone love Princess Diana.
Most people in Canada liked Princess Dianna.
I was a kid when she died. She seemed really nice
My son-in-law last name is Steptoe. He is a direct decent of Ann Steptoe who was married to George Washington Brother Samuel Walter Washington. They had a son named George Steptoe Washington and he is buried in Augusta, Georgia. My son in law is related to General Robert E. Lee. Robert E. Lee was related to George Washington through his wife Mary Anna Custis, who was the great-granddaughter of George Washington's wife Martha. Lee's eldest son, George Washington Custis Lee, was also a Confederate general in the American Civil War.
Americans loved diana. Everyone watched her funeral and was very solemn when she left us. We all know when &where we heard of her passing😢❤
The first time I ever saw Benny Hill was in the mid 70s to late 70s on late night TV in America. I was between 10 and 12 years old at the time. Betty Hill has always been one of my favorite shows.
(from Michigan USA) I loved Princess Dianna too. I was 10 when she married Prince Charles and got up really, really early in the morning because of time zone difference and watched the whole wedding. It was magical. She seemed to be a fresh air in the royal family and was fun and witty. She was so graceful and elegant. i was very sad when Prince Charles started cheating on her and it seems then that she started cheating and then the terrible car wreck. My heart hurt for William and Harry. And it's sad now to see how Harry has fallen away into trouble. I think Kate is similar to Princess Diana in that she has an air of being down to earth and has such poise and grace. I'm glad William married her and I hope he does not follow in his father's footsteps.
Benny Hill is the G.O.A.T.
Your mom and I get a lot of the same references even with the Atlantic Ocean and most of the North American continent separating us.
Usually American women liked Princess Diana and the royals in general. Most American guys are indifferent to them.
Mrs B you are a stunner.
most americans probably didnt even get the joke. we really do not care about the monarchy. i think one of the princes is trying to sue the famous cartoon "south park" because they made fun of him lol.
Benny Hill lol
If we get the chance we should watch... what? Sorry, I completely missed which show that was.
Your mum is drop dead gorgeous.
Have your mum show you Benny Hill for the channel!
:-)
Subscriber from the USA. Benny Hill = the greatest TV show ever (especially Louise English and Hill's Angels). Check it out if you get a chance, particularly the shows from 1979-1986 (the best of the best, in my opinion).
So, am I gonna be the only one to say Mama Beesley is kinda... Never mind. Lol
We loved Princess Di here in the US also.
I think it’s only the Brit’s that have a weird hate for princess diana
I miss the Benny Hill beauties
Queen Elizabeth II was a great Monarch! Much respect from the U.S.
Loved Monty Pythons,Ab Fab 8:34 patsy and Eddie.were my favorite, both shows.
I agree that the Princess Di joke is in poor taste; she was loved here in the States, too. I watched the live coverage of her tragic death; it was absolutely horrible. The accident aired on T.V. late at night here, with the sad news of her passing being aired in the morning.
@3:11 a lot of Americans don't understand cockney accents, so that's what it sounds like to them 😂!
Americans loved Princess Di.
Princess Diana was a big deal over here. Everyone loved her and when that tragedy hit people were in absolute shock.
Americans loved princess Diana
Family Guy has gone too fah!
I apologize. I accidentally hit send. The whole United States
loved Princess Diana! Still to this day! I'm not that big of a fan of monarchy now. Had tremendous respect for Queen Elizabeth. Charles cheated on Diana with Camilla. William seems to have entitlement and anger issues. Harry had to get out; don't blame him! Don't get me started with Andrew. Why is he still a living as a senior royal!!
🤭Not a good look for a professional reactor when his Mother nails _all_ the jokes, most of which he missed the first time, and some of which, he still missed. Just show her how to work the camera, leave the room, and let her take over the channel...🙋♀👍🎥📈
I am one of the few Americans who got sick of the Royal Princess Di. I am a Republican through-and-through, but it seems to me that if you take the noble job of Royal Princess you stick with it to the bitter end. She was a Spencer and grew up playing with the royal children. There is no way she didn't know what she was getting into when she went after the Golden Ring. Petty personal feelings should have no place when you are biding time for the Head of State position.
Good video son
Love Princess Diana 💛
The royals aren't really talked about in the US, but there are people over here who did really like Diana and were sad about her passing. I never followed any of it, but I thought it was pretty horrible what happened.
We love/loved Diana!
We miss you our forever Princess Diana!
Everyone loved Princess Diana-except her husband😡😡
The original comment with Winston Churchill was: "Winston, drunk again I see.", and his reply was: Yes, but you are ugly, and tomorrow I will be sober, but you will still be ugly."
Your mom is right. People loved Diana. She was the peoples princess.
I’m related to Diana. Not that it matters being American.
I still remember when I heard that Princess Diana had died. My friends and I were at a lively sports bar when the news came thru during a commercial break. It was eerily silent and you could hear some people weeping. A lot of people left for home, including us. I remember my friend's mom, who was very Irish, saying she was not much into the Royal Family but she loved Diana. I still have the video of her funeral procession and service. It's funny the things you remember in life, the highlights & tragedies. Diana was not even American but I think many of us wished she was.
Benny Hill was a funny funny show. I have a dvd of a couple of his shows.
I’ve never met an American who didn’t love Princess Diana.
I was 15 when she died. It was all over the news for a good while. The US loved Princess Diana.
Yes, Princess Diana was LOVED in America as well!
I’ve never watched the Simpsons or Family Guy so this is a first for me too.
Benny Hill is a comedy show icon here in the US.
I always remember Princess Diana as being well liked in America
🇺🇸 loved Princess Diana
