    I have 8020A with the dial/power switch at the front since 2016. Amazing set!

    Very interesting to read a review from musicians point of view!
    I purchased the Genelec 8030 but sadly had to return it as so many problems with room acoustics.
    Thinking about getting the 8020 with in the future possible adding the 7040 subwoofer.
    I’m pianist, roughly classical and some jazz, do you think will be good the ensemble for reproducing most part of the keyboard?
    Onboard speakers of my Kawai make me headaches 🤕, completely sticked to the keyboard and resonates everywhere…

    Great video I just got some 8020D in white but gotta wait for XLR cables to arrive. I like your minimal mindset, less clutter frees the mind to focus on the music.

    Yes. I have or had the 8020, 8030, 8040, and 8050s. The only monitors that came close were the Event Opals. You can mix and match the As, Bs, and Cs because they have the same amps just slightly different features.. Genelec switched to digital amps with the D revision.

    Best review of the 8020Ds yet imho! I know this is super late to ask, but are you still using them? I'm considering this model even though they're not from the SAM series (because of how compact and minimal they are)...! Just wondering what your take on them in terms of sound is now that this video's been out for almost a year!

    I dont make music much nowadays, kind of lost the flame after 10 years of producing. But, my little 8010a are quite impressive. They are perfect for my room. The lack of low end (100hz downward) kind of force me to work harder on the mids, which is a good thing imo. Of course, my only way to hear the missing frequency is with headphone (akg k712).
    I need a sub (7010a), but overall I’m happy with these !

    I do have genelecs 8020 A. And i agree´, they sound very flat and you get a lot of details. But i personally think the 8030 is a bit better. And i like the sound of the hs8 more, it got less detail but it got better bass and top end and sounds a bit more open than the 8020. For homestudio the hs8 pretty bad though, the best thing you can get then is like 8030.. thaths perfect for home studio

    Hi.... I am highly inspired by your music... I started learning piano but then eventually my interest in multi instrumental music evolved a lot... And hence right now i am working on my transcribing capabilities... Also i am wondering if i must sell off my digital piano and buy a midi controller because i feel the keys on a digital piano are not suitable to play everything... Would you help me with some suggestions/advice?
    Also i am confused between digital paino/midi controller and an arranger keyboard

    • @jpdussan
      @jpdussan  Год назад

      Thanks for your comment and your kind words! I suggest doing some research on the different types of keyboard, but I can tell you that for music composition the best option is a controller. The others are better for performance :)

    • @dj-anand
      @dj-anand 8 месяцев назад +3

      Get the genelec sub to match the 8020’s and you’ll be set for life… the sub is essential for anyone who works on electronic and urban music and genelec makes a beast of a woofer. The 8020’s can’t reproduce any low end beyond 40hz and it’s got a noticeable roll off starting from 60hz so don’t skip the sub, I been rocking this setup for over 10 years now and it’s still amazes me to this very day every time I hear them.
